Product Usage Instructions
Step 1: Add water and heat
Fill the brewing kettle with the desired amount of water and heat it to the
appropriate temperature for your brewing process.
Step 2: Insert the Brew Bag
Turn off the heat source and insulate the kettle to prevent heat loss.
Carefully insert the Brew Bag into the brewing kettle, ensuring it does not
slide into the kettle.
Step 3: Add grain
Add the grain to the Brew Bag inside the brewing kettle.
Step 4: Mash
Put the lid on the brewing kettle and wait for 30 minutes. Afterward, stir the
contents and wait for an additional 30 minutes.
Step 5: Lift the Brew Bag and drain
Gently lift the Brew Bag out of the brewing kettle, allowing the wort to drain
from the grain into the kettle. Squeeze the bag to extract as much wort as
possible.
Step 6: Boil
Remove the insulation from the kettle and turn on the heat source. Proceed
with your hop schedule and follow the remainder of your recipe. The resulting
wort should be approximately 50% of the brewing kettle volume with a density
of around 1.060.
Cleaning Instructions:
To clean the Brew Bag, hand-wash it with warm water and dishwashing soap.
Rinse it three times with clean water and then hang it to air dry. Do not
wring out the Brew Bag.
Operating instructions The Brew Bag/Keggle Bag
The Brew Bag and the Keggle Bag are easy and economical fabric filters for home brewers to start all-grain brewing according to the Brew in a Bag method (BIAB). These Bags are designed to be used in a single step full volume mash at around 67 °C.
A typical brew session would go as follows:
-
Step 1: Add strike water and heat
To calculate your required strike water, take 80% of the maximum volume of your brewing kettle. Heat the water to 70 °C. -
Step 2: Insert the Brew Bag
Turn the heat source off and insulate the kettle to prevent heat loss. Insert the Brew Bag into the brewing kettle, and prevent the bag from slipping into the kettle. -
Step 3: Add the malt
To calculate the required amount of malt (kg), take 25% of the strike water (ratio 1:4). Add the crushed malt to the Brew Bag. Stir well. The temperature of the mash will now be 67 °C. -
Step 4: Mash
Put the lid on the brewing kettle, and wait 30 minutes. Then stir and wait another 30 minutes. -
Step 5: Lift the Brew Bag & drain
Lift the bag carefully out of the brewing kettle. Squeeze the wort out of the grain into the kettle. -
Step 6: Boil
Remove the insulation and turn on the heat source. Proceed with your hop schedule and the remainder of your recipe. The wort you eventually maintain is about 50% of the brewing kettle volume and has a density of approximately 1.060.
Clean
Hand-wash the Brew Bag with warm water and dishwashing soap. Triple rinse with clear water and then hang to dry (air dry only, no clothes dryer). The Brew Bag will dry very quickly when hung. There is no need to wring out the Brew Bag.
