The 2513, 2694 Series is a cleaning machine designed for household use. It comes with various accessories to assist in cleaning tasks. IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING YOUR APPLIANCE.
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should be observed, including the following:
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK OR INJURY:
- Connect to a properly grounded outlet only. See grounding instructions. Do not modify the three-prong grounded plug.
- Do not leave appliance when it is plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.
- Do not expose to rain. Store indoors.
- Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close attention is necessary when used by or near children.
- Do not use for any purpose other than described in this user guide. Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
- Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, have it repaired at an authorized service center.
- Always install float before any wet pick-up operation.
- Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
- Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
- Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep openings free of dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.
- Turn OFF all controls before plugging or unplugging appliance.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible materials (lighter fluid, gasoline, kerosene, etc.) or use in areas where they may be present.
- Do not use appliance in an enclosed space filled with vapors given off by oil-based paint, paint thinner, some moth-proofing substances, flammable dust, or other explosive or toxic vapors.
- Do not use to pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
- Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches or hot ashes.
- Use only BISSELL® cleaning products intended for use with this appliance to prevent internal component damage. See the Cleaning Formulas section of this guide.
- Keep appliance on a level surface.
- Use only the type and amount of liquids specified under the operations section of this guide.
- Unplug the appliance and disconnect the accessory. Remove battery cover to replace the batteries. Observe battery polarity when replacing batteries.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Risk of fire and chemical burn hazard. Keep batteries out of reach of children and in original package until ready to use. Do not recharge, disassemble, heat above 60°C (140°F) or incinerate batteries. The batteries can explode in a fire. The battery terminals are not to be short circuited. Dispose of used batteries safely and promptly. Even used cells may cause injury.
- This attachment contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. If a new or used lithium button/coin cell battery is swallowed or enters the body, it can cause severe internal burns and can lead to death in as little as two hours. Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep them away from children. If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- If attachment is to be stored for a long period, the batteries should be removed. Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed. The battery must be removed from the accessory before it is scrapped.
- Never put batteries in mouth. If swallowed, contact your physician or local poison control.
- Replace battery with CR1632 only. Use of another battery may present a risk of fire or explosion. CR1632 cells may be purchased any where batteries are sold.
- Plastic film can be dangerous. To avoid danger of suffocation, keep away from children.
- Do not pick up toxic material (chlorine bleach, ammonia, drain cleaner, etc.).
- Do not pick up hard or sharp objects such as glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
- Liquid must not be directed towards equipment containing electrical components.
- Do not immerse. Use only on surfaces moistened by cleaning process.
- Use only on carpet moistened by cleaning process.
- Recycle batteries, do not mix with household waste.
- The battery is to be disposed of safely.
- Do not incinerate the accessory even if it severely damage. The batteries can explode in a fire.
WARNING
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service person if you aren’t sure if the outlet is properly grounded. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG. If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. This appliance is designed for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit, and has a grounding attachment plug that looks like the plug in the illustration. Make certain that the appliance is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No plug adapter should be used with this appliance.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be connected to a grounded wiring system. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a safe path of least resistance for electrical current, reducing the risk of electrical shock. The cord for this appliance has an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. It must only be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Assembly

- Slide the Flex Hose Clip into the slot found on front of the machine at the bottom. You should here a “snap” when it’s locked in.
- Attach Quick Release Cord Wrap by snapping into the slot on the back left side of the machine.
- Snap the Hose Grip Bracket into the slot on the back right side of the machine.
- Snap the Tool Storage Holder (select models) into the back between the Quick Release Cord Wrap and the Hose Grip Bracket.
- Wrap the Flex Hose around the machine and snap Hose Grip into bracket.
- Wrap the power cord around the Cord Wrap.

Filling the Clean Water Tank
- Remove the Clean Water Tank by pulling the top of the tank away from the machine.
- Pull the black tab to reveal the tank opening. The plug rotates out of the way for easy filling.
- Fill tank with hot tap water (140° F/60° C MAX) to the water fill line. Do not boil or microwave water.
- Add formula to the indicated fill line on the tank.
- Replace the tank plug by rotating into place and pressing gently onto tank.
- Replace tank by lining up the bottom (side with indentations) into the machine. Push the top of the tank into place until you hear a “click”.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock due to internal component damage, use only BISSELL cleaning formula intended for use with this machine.
Getting Ready to Clean

Before You Clean
- Vacuum to remove loose dirt from area to be cleaned.
- Spray any BISSELL® stain pretreat formula to soiled areas or stains.
- Allow to sit for at least 3 minutes.
- Clean following instructions below.
Choose Your Desired Tool
Tools vary by model.
Attaching the Tool
- Release the hose by twisting the Quick Release Cord Wrap. Unwind cord and plug into outlet.
- Release the Flex Hose from the Hose Grip Bracket. Unwrap completely from around the machine.
- Choose your tool and snap on the end of the hose.

3”, 4”, 6” Tools and Spraying Crevice Tool
- Point the tool approximately 1 inch above the spot or stain and press the spray trigger.
- Release spray trigger and gently scrub the stain.
Deep Stain Tool
_ Note: _Always keep tool in contact with carpet to avoid over-spraying.
- Set the tool directly on to the carpet and pull the trigger.
- Scrub back and forth to suction away the spot or stain.
3-in-1 Stair Tool
- Twist tool to desired position. The downward facing edge is the active cleaning mode.
- Use on stairs 3 ways:
- Use the flat edge to clean the stair tread.
- Use indented area to clean the outside corner.
- Use pointed edge to clean the crevice.
- Point the tool approximately 1 inch above the spot or stain and press the spray trigger. Suction up the stain by placing tool onto carpet and slowly moving backwards.
Stain Trapper Tool
- Point the tool approximately 1 inch above the spot or stain and press the spray trigger.
- Suction up the stain by placing tool onto carpet and slowly moving backwards.
- To empty the tool tank, rotate clockwise.
- Pour dirty liquid into sink or toilet and rinse. Allow time to air dry.
- Return the tank to the tool by lining up the grooves and twisting it into place.
HydroRinse™ Tool
- Hold the hose and tool in an upright position with the machine ON. Hold down the trigger for 30 seconds. Be sure to empty the Dirty Water Tank after use.
- You can store tool on machine, as shown.
After-Cleaning Care
- To remove the Dirty Water Tank simply pull the top of the tank to the right. Pull the tab on the tank plug to open.
- Carefully empty Dirty Water Tank, as some water may enter/drain from the center float stack.
- The float stack can be removed from the Dirty Water Tank for cleaning. Turn the cap counterclockwise to remove it. Then pull the float stack outward to remove from the tank.
- Rinse with water until all debris is removed and let air dry.
- Return the float stack to the Dirty Water Tank. Ensure all pieces are assembled, as shown. Screw the cap back on clockwise until tightened.
- Close tank plug and replace the tank on the machine. Push the top of the tank into place until you hear a “click”.
Cleaning the Tools
- To disconnect the cleaning tools, push down on the button above the hose grip and pull straight off. (Do NOT twist tool to remove it.)
- The front cover of most tools can be removed for easy cleaning. If so, you will see a button on the top of the tool that will allow you to slide the tool cover off. Rinse with water and air dry.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power OFF and disconnect from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.
Thermal Protector
An internal thermal protector has been designed into your portable carpet cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates, the suction motor will stop operating. If this happens proceed as follows.
- Turn machine OFF and unplug from the electrical outlet.
- Check the end of the hose and tool for blockages and remove if necessary. Check the float stack for clogs and remove debris.
- Let the motor cool for approximately 30 minutes. The thermal protector will automatically reset and cleaning may continue once plugged back in.
Note: If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner may need servicing. Call BISSELL® Consumer Care or visit the website.
Storing Your Machine
- Store machine in protected, dry area at room temperature (40° F – 110° F).

Troubleshooting
Below are some of the issues you may run into. If you don’t see the issue you’re experiencing below, visit support.BISSELL.ca.
Problem | Possible Cause | Remedies |
---|
Reduced Spray or No Spray
| Spray nozzle clogged.| Clean spray nozzle using an unfolded paper clip.
Clean Water Tank empty.| Check/fill tank.
Clean Water Tank insert clogged.| Clean insert at bottom of Clean Water Tank.
Pump needs priming.| Gently lift Clean Water Tank while pressing the spray
trigger OR gently squeeze clean tank while pressing spray trigger.
Clean Water Tank not fully seated.| Remove and reseat Clean Water Tank.
Carpet Cleaner Won’t Pick Up Cleaning Solution
| Poor tool position.| Reposition on surface, follow recommended cleaning
procedures.
Dirty Water Tank is full.| Empty Dirty Water Tank.
Excess solution in Flex Hose.| Lift tool and point upwards to allow water in
hose to flow into the Dirty Water Tank.
Incorrect cleaning formula.| Use BISSELL® 2X Portable Machine formulas only.
Dirty Water Tank is improperly seated onto base.| Remove and reseat tank.
Dirty tank plug is unplugged.| Push in Dirty Water Tank plug until properly
sealed.
Deep Reach Tool is Over- Spraying Formula (Formula is Spraying Out the Sides)
| Formula trigger is being pulled when tool is above carpeting.| Make sure the
Deep Reach Tool’s formula injection needles are burrowed deep in your
carpeting before pressing the formula spray trigger. To avoid over-spraying,
make sure the tool stays in direct contact with the carpet at all times.
Deep Reach Tool is being used on upholstery.| The Deep Reach Tool is designed
for high-pile carpets and rugs. Switch to the 3” Tough Stain Tool for
upholstery cleaning.
Dirty Water Tank Leaking
| Duckbill valve is dirty.| Clean the duckbill valve located at the bottom of
the Dirty Water Tank. Once cleaned, make sure it is placed securely back in
place.
Float stack not fully locked on Dirty Water Tank.| Remove float stack and
twist until arrow is aligned with lock symbol on Dirty Water Tank.
Dirty Water Tank not properly seated onto machine.| Remove and reseat onto
machine.
Note: Any other servicing should be performed by an authorized service representative.
NOTICE: To reduce the risk of a leaking condition, do not store machine where freezing may occur. Damage to internal components may result.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, turn power OFF and disconnect from electrical outlet before performing maintenance or troubleshooting.
