Product Information

The PurityTM Low Profile 2 Commercial is an air cleaner designed to improve indoor air quality. It features a Collector Pad that captures air pollutants, ensuring clean and fresh air in your HVAC system. The product comes with foam padding strips for a tight fit and can be powered by a field supplied 24v – 40VA Class 2 plug-in adapter power supply or by connecting to a 24-volt AC power source in your HVAC system.

The product is accompanied by a lifetime warranty, providing peace of mind for long-term usage. Regular maintenance, including collector pad replacement, is necessary to maintain optimal performance and prevent damage to your HVAC system.

For installations involving multiple filters, the product can be connected in tandem using the provided connection instructions. Additionally, an optional control box, the TUVC-CBX-PLP, can be purchased separately to provide power to the Purity Low Profile filters.

  4. Insert the Purity Low Profile (PLP) filter into the 2 slot.
  5. Power the PLP using one of the following methods:
    • A. For systems without factory 24v: Add a field supplied 24v – 40VA Class 2 plug-in adapter power supply.
    • B. For systems with a 24-volt AC power source: Connect the leads of the power cord illustrated in the electrical wiring diagram (Fig. 1).

WARNING: Electrical work should be done by a qualified electrician or HVAC technician

Collector Pad Replacement

  1. Turn off the power on the HVAC system.
  2. Open the air handler filter access door.
  3. Unplug the 24-volt power cord and remove the PLP from the filter slot.
  4. Clean heavy accumulated dust on the outside screen with a vacuum.
  5. Open the PLP and remove the old Collector Pad, then discardit.
  6. Insert the new Collector Pad by sliding the electrode into the the color tube inside the pad.
  7. Close the Air Cleaner and plug the 24-volt power cord into the power head.
  8. Restore HVAC system power.

Periodical Operation Maintenance
Your collector pad should be replaced every 4 to 6 months, depending on air pollutants and fan usage. To maximize the effectiveness of the PLP, we recommend keeping the fan control on your thermostat in the ON position. Failure to change the collector pad regularly can reduce airflow through your HVAC system, potentially causing short cycling and equipment damage.FRESHAIREUV P-224 Low Profile 2 Commercial-

WARNING: Failure to change the collector pad on a regular basis will result in a reduction of air flow through the HVAC system. This can cause short cycling of your air handler system and may cause damage to your equipment.

PURITYTM LOW PROFILE 2 COMMERCIAL CONTROL BOX (TUVC-CBX-PLP)

The TUVC-CBX-PLP control box provides 24VAC power to the Purity Low Profile filters. It comes with a universal 120-480VAC step-down transformer, initially set to 120VAC incoming power. A qualified technician can change the transformer wiring for alternate incoming voltages if needed.

For tandem filter systems, the filter labeled FIRST IN has a power cord with a barrel jack adapter. Remove the adapter and splice an extension cable with sufficient length to reach the control box.

The TUVC-CBX-PLP control box is designed to provide 24VAC power to the Purity Low Profile (PLP) filter(s) through a universal 120-480VAC step down transformer. All TUVC-CBX-PLP will be supplied from the factory at 120VAC incoming power. A simple field wiring change to the transformer, by a qualified technician, is possible for the alternate incoming voltages.

The control box toggle switch supplies 24VAC to the (PLP) filters for servicing. Each control box has the capacity to power twenty (20) standard 1” & 2” filters. The supplied power cord is connected to the gray terminal blocks within the control box, “TO FILTER”, as the 24VAC source and inserted into the power-head of the filter assembly. When the toggle switch is turned to the “ON” position, the green light indicator labeled “CONTROL BOX ON” will be illu-minated and the Red on-board LED at the filter will also light.

Filter arrangements can be configured with a supervisory circuit that provides fault indication on a loss of power for tandem fil-ters. In a tandem system, the filter labeled “FIRST IN”, has a power cord with a barrel jack adapter. Remove this adapter and splice extension cable with enough length to reach the control box.FRESHAIREUV P-224 Low Profile 2 Commercial-

Note: that this wire should meet all local regulatory requirements. This extension wire connects to the blue terminal blocks of the control box, labeled “FROM FILTER”. With power to all the filters, the green light indicator labeled “FILTERS ON” will illuminate.
