Overview
The HDMI audio return and digital-to-analog audio converter can simultaneously output sound from the TV to the optical fiber coaxial 3.5mm headphone connector via the HDMI ARC interface. Digital audio signals transmitted over coaxial or fiber optic cable can also be converted to analogue stereo signals.
Please Note
- Verify that the TV only supports TVs with the HDMI ARC function and that it has an HDMI “ARC” interface.
- Before using HDMI ARC, please change the audio output to PCM or LPCM. You must set the audio source’s output to LPCM or PCM format if the output audio is 3.5mm AUX stereo or L/R RCA.
- Please activate the TV’s CEC feature so you may adjust the volume. (Only works with 3.5mm and RCAL/R output connections.)
- To support ARC function, please use normal 19 + 1 HDMI cable. Connect several audio interface inputs, making sure to switch on the correct input.
Our Advantages
- The ARC Audio Extractor is suitable for new Version TV with HDMI ARC interface, but no fiber coaxial interface
- Add fiber coaxial to 3.5mm and RCA function
- The product is equipped with an HDMI cable for easy use
- 1 x 3ft HDMI Cable
- 1 x User Manual
Only TV Sets with the HDMI ARC Function Can Be Supported
Connection issue
- The solution is an HDMI ARC audio adaptor called our Converter. It must have HDMI ARC functionality on the TV’s HDMI interface in order to be used.
- Typically, the TV’s HDMI interface bears the (HDMI ARC) logo. (NOT the interface for HDMI)
Setting issue Resolution
Our converter’s headphone jack and RCA interface output only support PCM 2.0 audio format; they do not support 5.1ch audio formats like Dolby ACS or DIS, for example. To get regular sound output, you must change the TV’s audio output mode to PCM.
This is how the TV is set
Setting a Samsung TV:
- PCM audio format: Settings – Sound – Expert Settings – PCM
- External speaker: HDMI ARC under Settings > Sound > Speaker Selection
Setting an LG TV:
- PCM setup method: Menu >> All >> Sound Out >> Optical >> Digital >> PCM
- Select Menu->All Settings->Sound Out >HDMI ARC if you need to synchronise the audio output from the TV speakers and the optical fibre.
Power issues
Solution: Because the voltage of the TV’s USB interface is less than 5V 1A, it is possible to connect the USB interface of the TV to directly power the converter and our Converter’s rated operating voltage and current are 5V and 1A, another power adapter—for example, one for a mobile phone—must be attached.
Normally, a 5V/1A adaptor will be used with a tablet.
Sound issue Solution
- Due to the Converter’s insufficient power supply, there will be an audio delay. If the TV’s USB port is used, there might not be enough power.
- Supply, causing a delay in the sound. Since our Converter’s rated working voltage and current are 5V and 1A, powering mobile devices or tablets is possible.
- 5V/1A computers are used to solve the issue.
- If the HDMI cable is excessively lengthy or has poor contact when connecting our devices, there will also is a sound delay issue. It is advised.
- To make sure the HDMI cable is attached to the product properly, plug it in again. The HDMI cable is just 2 meters long, thus there won’t No waiting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can this simultaneously deliver a signal from the TV to optical (for a sound bar) and RCA (for a subwoofer) outputs?
The CAMWAY Digital to Analog Audio Converter may be linked to an ARC TV with an HDMI connection, a sound bar with an optical output interface, and a Rca cable (for subwoofer)
You only have access to volume control on the RCA out on this device, therefore it doesn’t seem to work with optical connections.****
After digital optical connections, volume control is performed. Volume commands, which inform a downstream device what volume to apply, are not supported by optical connections. Although HDMI is a digital channel as well, it can employ CEC to instruct the downstream device how loud to make the analogue audio signal. Since RCA is analogue, direct volume modulation is possible.
Will each audio output function simultaneously? Or at least simultaneously optical and 3.5 mm?****
I use this gadget to connect an audio amplifier to the TV audio feed using an HDMI connection between the eARC and ARC ports (via an optical cable). This enables the use of large speakers for improved sound quality. I had no audio lag while viewing movies or television.
What causes the audio to pause?****
Please make sure the audio cable interface is normal and that PCM is selected as the audio format.
Will a standard fast charger for cell phones work to fuel this gadget?****
You can power this Audio Converter using a regular, fast-charging cell phone adaptor.
What kind of charger is needed?****
Needs a charger that can deliver at least 5V/500mA.
For my sounds bar, I got a similar device, but it didn’t function when I tried to play Netflix. Does this function when connected to sound on all applications?****
Just set the TV’s audio output format to PCM, dear.
adjusting the TV:
A. Setting up a Samsung TV:
- PCM format: Sound->Expert Settings->Audio Format->PCM in Settings
- Optical speakers under Settings -> Sound -> Speaker -> External
B. Setting an LG TV: - PCM setup method: Menu >> All >> Sound Out >> Optical >> Digital >> PCM
- To synchronise the audio output between the TV speaker and the optical fibre, select Internal TV Speaker + Optical from the menu under “All Settings,” “Sound Out,” and “Optical Fiber.”

Is arc input required for this device? If so, would that input be able to control the volume of the analogue RCA output if I used a conventional HDMI-cec input?****
Dear, The TV remote can be used to adjust the analogue RCA output volume of this digital to analogue audio converter.
Can cec volume control be used with an appletv’s HDMI input (after a splitter)?****
Dear, Is Apple TV a source or a display device? The TV remote control can be used to adjust the output volume of the Digital to Analog Audio Converter’s analogue RCA and 3.5mm audio ports.
Can I play sound through both my amp with speakers using RCA and a sound bar using optical if this splits the audio?****
I think so. The analogue and digital outputs are both attached to my receiver, but I don’t believe I’ve ever utilized them both at once. (The digital out is connected to the 5.1 inputs for surround sound indoors, and the analogue outputs are connected to input channels 6 and 7, which go to speakers on my deck.)
Can the sound of my TV’s speakers and a subwoofer attached to the RCA ports on this converter both be controlled by the same remote?****
First, your TV must have the sound option Optical + Internal speakers for the
converter to function as you like (I assume you will connect the converted to
the TV via optical).
However, I don’t think the TV remote can simultaneously operate the subwoofer
and TV speakers. I need to use the TV remote to control the TV sound and the
amplifier’s remote to control the sound of the external speakers because I
have RCS cables linked to an amplifier and external speakers connected to the
amplifier.
Optical cable is used to connect the surround sound system’s output to the TV through HDMI input. I could change the volume, but suddenly I stopped. How did this occur?****
I have the same connection and experienced the same issue: audio output switched abruptly back to the TV speaker. I reasoned that the automatic system updates or programmer execution of smart TVs may be to blame for this. When I encounter this issue, I return to the TV’s settings and change the audio output once more.
What is the process of a digital audio converter?****
The samples are converted back into voltage levels by the DAC. To eliminate any rough spots in the continuous waveform, a low-pass filter is applied to the voltage levels. The audio is then transmitted to leave the DAC and go to your headphones, speakers, or another connected device.
