DX PATROL 122087 HF Transverter for Adalm-Pluto User Manual
This is the new Pluto´s companion, Charon, as the dwarf planet´s moon.
Our Transverter will complete the missing coverage of the Pluto: the HF band.
With the Dxpatrol transverter, operate the HF with the Adalm-pluto will become
very easy and you can enjoy TX and RX all the spectrum from 160m up to 6m with
TX power of 50mW.
The circuit is based in a IF of 80Mhz and a UP conversion into a segment well
covered by the Pluto.
So all the HF+50Mhz spectrum will be presented from 80Mhz to 130Mhz TX/RX
window.
Description of internal architecture:
Local oscillator with a 80Mhz Oscillator 50ppM 3.3V
Minicircuits ADE-1 mixer and a MMIC linear amplifiers for TX and RX.
The Transverter will trigger the TX mode automatic with is internal VOX
circuit RF input detector.
There is also a panel 3mm jack connector with PTT function; i.e. TXground
function. Will put Transverter in TX when grounded and will be ground when
transverter goes to TX. This connector will be useful to control the PTT of
any PA you will use in future.
Features:
TX-
- Vox threshold – 0dBm
- Output power – 17dBm ( typical ) 50mW
- Tx gain – 16dBm
- Tx IA 150mA
- Tx Vox delay 2sec.
RX-
- Rx gain conversion gain – 10dB
- Rx NF – 3,4dB ( @ 14Mhz )
- Rx IA – 70mA
General –
- Voltage in 12V to 16V DC
- RF Connectors SMA
- DC connector – 5,5mm Jack DC
- Box printed material- PLA
- PTT connector- 3mm stereo ( ground + top pin)

Red Led, the Transverter is in TX mode.
Adalm-pluto working on 40m band.
The Transverter mode with SDR-Console is simple:
When the Radio Select starts, go to Converter Definitions and select Type UP-
converter. RX and TX 80.000.000 Hz Give it a name. Save.
Star the SDR.
The SDR-Console will display the HF frequency you are really listening.
For transmission, you only need make sure power is set to maximum, so the Vox
PTT of Transverter will trigger fast and stable.
Use any mode you like, SSB/FT8/CW etc.
The Transverter has 50mW, which might be enough for very surprising DX QSO´s in QRP mode.
Any linear power amplifiers and band pass filter can be added so the signal can be more comfortable when operate.
Have fun
