1 Tips
To dial in quickly, find the zero of the grinder first by rotating the hopper towards the finer direction by clockwise until the burrs are locked. Your zero-setting is when the burrs are fully closed.

Grind Setting

Your final grind setting may be different but this is the general starting point to help you get started:

Brew methods Recommended range
Pour-over and V60 1.8-2.0 revolution from zero
Espresso 0.8 revolution from zero

Nomenclature

Zero’ refers to the lock point the finest setting you can go  with the motor switched off.  1 complete revolution/rotation of the grind adjustment funnel on the Mini is equal to +10 printed big dots.

Care & Maintenance

  • To ensure best performance and longevity, do not operate the grinder for more than 90 seconds in one cycle, with a minimum of 90 seconds rest between two cycles.
  • The grinder is designed for home use i.e. not for continuous commercial use. So it should not be used for more than 6 minutes continuously within a 10 minute duration.
  • It must rest for at least 30 minutes if the total grinding time exceeds 6 minutes.
  • The Lagom Mini is designed to be essentially maintenance-free and has very little retention – this means that you don’t have to clean it as frequently as required on a traditional electric grinder.

Cleaning Procedure

To clean the burrs chamber every 6-12 months:

  1. Power off the grinder.
  2. Remove the lid.
  3. Adjust the funnel towards the coarser direction until the funnel disengages.
  4. Remove the funnel and you will get access to the upper burr carrier.

Important
Watch out for the bearing (on upper burr carrier) and springs in the grooves supporting the carrier – do not lose them.

  • Remove the upper burr carrier with hand gently.
  • You should now be able to access the burrs chamber and clean the grinder with a brush or vacuum.

Note

  • When reinstalling the upper burr carrier STRONGLY recommend to be extra careful to make sure that the burr is going in perpendicularly (90 degree).
  • Do not force the burr if it feels stuck.
  • There is no need to disassemble the burrs from their carriers both the bottom and upper burrs for cleaning purpose.

Other useful tips that may be useful

  • Burrs seasoning for light roast espresso Lagom Mini is ready for use right away upon unboxing.
  • However, when the coated burrs are new, there will be more friction initially and so grinding hard beans will require more torque than normal.
  • If possible, we do not recommend using the Lagom Mini for very light roast espresso until the burrs have bedded in a little.
  • You can use light roast for filter-brewing out of the box. You can also use medium-light roast on the Mini for espresso without any special consideration
Finger Guard

A finger guard has been supplied with every Lagom Mini for safe operation – particularly if there are curious little ones in the house. However, it may be removed and the grinder may also be operated without one for easier bean loading fully at your discretion depending on the risk of your circumstances.

Using the grind cup

When transferring coffee ground into your brewing vessels or baskets sometimes a light tap at the bottom of the grind cup while the grind cup is inverted can help greatly to transfer all the ground quickly. If you have any further inquiry, please contact us at [email protected]
