Product Information: Luma Low Voltage Sconce 201390
The Luma Low Voltage Sconce 201390 is a handcrafted lighting fixture produced by Modern American Blacksmiths at Castleton, Vermont, USA. It comes with various component parts including fixture, can, knob, crossbar, jam nut, threaded nipple, supply/support cable, collar, transformer, connectors, ground screw, cup, crystal, socket, washer, retaining ring, and retaining ring tool. The product must be installed in accordance with applicable installation code(s) by a licensed electrician to avoid personal injury or death and property damage.
Product Usage Instructions: How to Install Luma Low Voltage Sconce 201390
- Before installation, make sure the power is off at the main breaker box.
- Unpack the fixture carefully from the carton.
- Unthread the knob from the threaded nipple and slide the knob and can along the fixture and down supply/support cable until it rests on cup.
- Using two machine screws (not provided), temporarily fasten crossbar to the electric box. Make sure jam nut is loose.
- Hold the collar and fixture and attach them to the crossbar with the provided screws.
- Connect the supply/support cable to the electrical box with wire connectors (not provided). Make sure no bare wire is exposed.
- Hold the transformer close to the wall and connect its wires to supply wires (white to white and black to black) using suitable wire connectors (not provided).
- Push the transformer into the electrical box with wires w/ connectors facing out and re-attach the crossbar to the electric box with two machine screws (not provided).
- Attach a pigtail lead to crossbar ground screw.
- Hold the can close and connect all ground wires (bare copper or green to bare copper or green).
- Using wire connectors provided, connect one red transformer wire to braided side of fixture wire and the remaining red transformer wire to the stranded side of fixture wire. Either braided/stranded wire can be connected to either red transformer wire.
- Tuck all excess fixture wires into the electrical box.
- Slide can over threaded nipple, up against the wall, and secure with knob. Make sure no wires are pinched between the can and the wall.

and operation of the product and the hazards involved.*
Please Note: After installation extra hardware and accessories are
possible due to our kits are used on multiple products and options.
To Install To Wall
CAUTION: BE SURE POWER IS OFF AT THE MAIN BREAKER BOX PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.

Carefully unpack fixture (A) from the carton.

Unthread knob (C) from threaded nipple (F). Slide knob (C) and can (B) along fixture (A) and down supply/support cable (G) until it rests on cup (L).

Using two machine screws (not provided), temporarily fasten crossbar (D) to the electric box. Make sure jam nut (E) is loose.
Note: A new electrical box comes with screws. When replacing a fixture, retain the existing screws for use with the new fixture. -
Adjust the length of threaded nipple (F) in crossbar (D) so that knob (C) will hold can (B) tight against the wall. When the correct adjustment is established, tighten jam nut (E) against crossbar (D) to secure the adjustment.

Remove crossbar (D) from the electrical box.

Length of fixture can be adjusted before mounting to wall. Using hex wrench provided, loosen set screw in collar (H). Slide wire through fixture (A) until desired height is reached. Retighten set screw in collar (H) to secure adjustment.
CAUTION: BE SURE NOT TO OVERTIGHTEN SET SCREW AS THIS COULD PINCH THE WIRE AND CAUSE THE FIXTURE NOT TO LIGHT. -
Hold transformer (I) close to wall. Using suitable wire connectors (not provided) connect transformer wires to supply wires (white to white and black to black).

Push transformer (I) into electrical box with wires w/ connectors (J) facing out.

Using two machine screws (not provided), re-attach crossbar (B) to electric box.

Attach a pigtail lead to crossbar ground screw (K).

Hold can (B) close, connect all ground wires (bare copper or green to bare copper or green).

Using wire connectors provided (J), connect one red transformer wire to Braided side of fixture wire. Connect the remaining red transformer wire to the stranded side of fixture wire. Either braided/stranded wire can be connected to either red transformer wire.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE NO BARE WIRE IS EXPOSED. -
Tuck all excess fixture wires into electrical box.

Slide can (B) over threaded nipple (F), up against wall and secure with knob (C).
CAUTION: BE SURE NO WIRES ARE PINCHED BETWEEN THE CAN AND THE WALL. -

To Install Crystal

Washer (O) and retaining ring (P) are shipped attached to socket (N). Remove both from socket and retain for later use.

Locate the crystal (M) and white gloves.
Note: Using white gloves while handling the crystal will prevent smudges. -
Slide crystal (M) over socket (N) assembly and up supply/support cable (G).
Note: For ease of installation, have another person hold crystal up while following steps are done. -
Place washer (O) over socket (N). Thread retaining ring (P) onto socket to secure washer.

Use retaining ring tool (Q) to tighten retaining ring (P).

Install bulb (not included) into socket (N).

Lower crystal (M) down until it rests on washer (O).

Restore electricity at the main breaker.
