Product information

The product is a 1-light wall sconce available in three different models: HD5887G3, HD5887G4, and HD5887G5. The item numbers for these models are 1008 433 726, 1008 433 729, and 1008 433 730. The product comes with a three-year warranty.

Product Usage Instructions

Before attempting to assemble, install, or operate the product, read and understand the information provided in the manual completely. Failure to do so could lead to electrical shock, fire, or other injuries that could be hazardous or even fatal.

Product Safety Information

Use a voltage tester before touching any wire to make sure it is not life.
When replacing fuses, turn off the main power first. Make sure your hands and feet are dry, and place one hand behind your back to prevent electricity from making a complete circuit through your chest. Touch the plug fuse only by its insulated rim. Remove the cartridge fuses with a fuse puller.
Use tools with insulated handles and ladders made of wood or fiberglass.
To protect children, place a safety cover over any unused outlets.
Inspect the wire insulation for any cuts, abrasions, or exposed copper that may have occurred during shipping. If there is a defect in the wire, do not continue the assembly process.
Before starting the installation of this fixture or removal of a previous fixture, disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breaker, removing the fuse at the fuse box, or tripping the breaker that controls that circuit. Tape a sign to the panel warning others to leave the circuit alone while you work.

Warranty

THREE (3) YEAR WARRANTY

WHAT IS COVERED

The manufacturer warrants this fixture to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. This warranty applies only to the original consumer purchaser and only to products used in normal use and service. If this product is found to be defective, the manufacturer’s only obligation and your exclusive remedy, is the repair or replacement of the product at the manufacturer’s discretion, provided that the product has not been damaged through misuse, abuse, accident, modifications, alteration, neglect, or mishandling. This warranty shall not apply to any product that is found to have been improperly installed, set up, or used in any way not in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product. This warranty shall not apply to a failure of the product as a result of an accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, faulty installation, or any other failure not relating to faulty material or workmanship. This warranty shall not apply to the finish on any portion of the product, such as surface and/or weathering, as this is considered normal wear and tear.

The manufacturer does not warrant and specifically disclaims any warranty, whether expressed or implied, of fitness for a particular purpose, other than the warranty contained herein. Pre-Installation

PLANNING INSTALLATION

Read all instructions before installing.
To avoid damaging this product, place it on a soft, non-abrasive surface, such as carpet or cardboard.

IMPORTANT: Inspect the wire insulation for any cuts, abrasions, or exposed copper that may have occurred during shipping. If there is a defect in the wire, do not attempt installation. Please call the Customer Service Team at 1-855-HD-HAMPTON.

NOTE: This product requires one 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or type “A” or 9W maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulb (sold separately).

Plug in installation

Attaching the fixture body to the wall

Measure the distance between the two key holes on the crossbar assembly (1).
Mark the location of the two key holes on the wall with a pencil (not provided), making sure the holes line up horizontally in the correct position.
Drill a small hole (6 mm) on each mark and nail the plastic anchors (DD) into the wall using a hammer.
Insert the two wood screws (AA) in the plastic anchors (DD) as shown.
Place the two key holes on the fixture body’s (A) crossbar assembly (1) onto the two wood screws (AA). Make sure the two key holes are secure on the two wood screws (AA) before letting go of the fixture body (A).

NOTE: Do not install on gypsum surface. Install on wood or concrete surface.

Installing the shade

Unscrew the socket ring (3) and steel collar (2) from the socket of the fixture body (A).
Place the shade (B) and steel collar (2) over the socket and secure with the socket ring (3).

Installing the light bulb

Install the correct bulb (not included) referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.
Plug the power cord (C) into the outlet, then turn on the switch and enjoy.

NOTE: Uses one 60W maximum medium base (E26) type “S” or type “A” or 9W maximum medium base (E26) self-ballasted LED vintage Edison bulb (sold separately).

Hardwire installation

Preparing the crossbar assembly

Unscrew the two mounting balls (4) from the fixture body (A).
Remove the crossbar assembly (1) from the fixture body (A) and keep the crossbar assembly (1) and two mounting balls (4) for later use.

Installing the crossbar assembly

NOTE: Prior to installation, close or cover the sink drain and/or any vents near the installation site to prevent loss of mounting hardware if dropped.

NOTE: Use screwdriver (not provided) to remove the iron sheets (8) from the mounting holes on the crossbar assembly (1) as shown.

Secure the crossbar assembly (1) to the outlet box (not included) with the outlet box screws (BB) as shown. Tighten until snug.

Remove the power cord

Unscrew the two wire connectors (7) and remove the power cord (B), the bushing (6) and the wire clasp (5) from the fixture body (A).
Insert the bushing with rubber washer (EE) in the hole on the backplate on the fixture body (A).

Making the electrical connections

Use wire connectors (CC) to connect the wires.

Ground Wire:
- Wrap the supply ground wire around the green ground screw (FF) on the crossbar assembly (1), no less than 2 in. from the end of the wire. Tighten the ground screw (FF).
- Connect the fixture ground wire to the supply ground wire with a wire connector (CC).
Supply Wire:
- Connect the supply white wire to the white fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
- Connect the supply black (or red) wire to the black fixture supply wire with a wire connector (CC).
- Wrap each connection with approved electrical tape and carefully insert all of the connected wires into the outlet box.

Attaching the fixture body to the outlet box

Reattach the backplate on the fixture body (A) to the crossbar assembly (1).
Secure with the previously removed mounting balls (4).

Installing the shade

Unscrew the socket ring (3) and steel collar (2) from the socket of the fixture body (A).
Place the shade (B) and steel collar (2) over the socket and secure with the socket ring (3).

Installing the light bulb

Install the correct bulb (not included) referring to fixture markings and/or labels for maximum wattage.

Care and Cleaning

Do not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents, or harsh abrasives. Use only a dry, soft cloth to dust or wipe carefully.
To clean the fixture, disconnect power by turning off the circuit breaker or by removing the fuse at the fuse box, and use a dry or slightly dampened, clean cloth to wipe the exterior surface of the fixture.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Possible Cause	Solution
The light(s) will not turn on.	The bulb is burned out.	Replace the light

bulb.
The power is off.| Ensure the power supply is turned on.
The cord is not plugged in.| Ensure the cord is plugged into an outlet.
The circuit breaker is off.| Ensure the circuit breaker is set in the “ON” position.
There is a faulty switch.| Test or replace the switch.
There is a faulty wire connection.| Check the wiring.
The fuse blows or the circuit breaker trips when the light is turned on.| There is an exposed wire.

There are crossed wires, or the power wire is grounding out.

| Discontinue use of the light.

Check the wire connections.
