8CGE0145 Two Piece Toilet

Product Information

The product is a two-piece toilet that comes with an installation manual. The toilet has conventional fittings for easy installation. The tank and bowl are assembled using tank bolts, rubber washers, plastic wing nuts, and a beveled gasket. The two-channel pads are placed on the back of the bowl ledge to prevent china-to-china contact. The plastic trim parts should not be exposed to strong oxidizing agents, chlorine, or acid levels of lower than 5.0 pH as they can cause damage to the toilet components. The product warranty excludes such failures. The package includes channel pads, plastic bolt caps and washers, and rubber washers. Nut and steel washer are not included.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Check the tightness of lock nuts on both flush valves and fill valve before assembling the tank to the bowl.
  2. Assemble tank bolts in the tank with rubber washers and plastic wing nuts. Hand-tighten the wing nuts sufficiently to compress rubber washers and ensure a water seal.
  3. Assemble the beveled gasket to the flush valve shank so that the lock nut is enclosed in recess, making sure that the entire surface of the gasket is in contact with the tank bottom.
  4. Place two-channel pads in recesses on the back of the bowl ledge to prevent china-to-china contact.
  5. Place the tank assembly in position. Do not use putty. Hand-tighten plastic wing nuts sufficiently to hold the tank in place.
  6. Do not expose plastic trim parts to strong oxidizing agents, chlorine, or acid levels of lower than 5.0 pH as they can cause damage to the toilet components.
  7. Do not use tank-type bowl cleaners as they can cause tank component failure and damage. Such failures are excluded from the product warranty.
  8. Do not use a wax ring for installation.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TANK-TO-BOWL ASSEMBLY

This water closet has been designed for easy installation. Conventional fittings have been used throughout so that the working parts and operation of this assembly may be easily understood.

  1. Before assembling tank (B) to bowl (G) check the tightness of lock nuts on both flush valve and fill valve.

  2. Before assembling tank to bowl check tightness of brass nuts and rubber washers underneath the tank.

  3. Assemble beveled gasket (F) to pressure vessel outlet shank so that lock nut is enclosed in recess, making sure that the entire surface of the gasket is in contact with the tank bottom.

  4. Place two-channel pads (I) in recesses on the back of the bowl ledge to prevent china-to-china contact.

  5. Place tank assembly in position. USE NO PUTTY. Plastic wing nuts (E) are tightened by hand sufficiently to prevent rocking; and since the tank bolts are already sealed, the tank can be leveled by the relative amount that each wing nut is pulled down on the three points of contact, beveled gasket (F) and two channel pads (I).

  6. Connect the supply line (K)(not included)

  7. DO NOT USE PIPE DOPE OR TOOLS ON PLASTIC PARTS! HAND TIGHTEN ONLY! OVER TIGHTENING MAY SPLIT THE FILL VALVE OR DAMAGE THE BRAIDED HOSE (NOT INCLUDED) AND WILL VOID THE WARRANTY!

  8. When you turn the water supply on, you will hear the water flow into the tank. (Even after the noise of water flowing stops, does not mean pressure vessel is completely filled) complete fill takes between 60 and 9 seconds, before the pressure vessel tank ready to be flushed.
NOTE : Time must be allowed for this refill after every flush.

  9. For best actuating performance, at rest there should be an approximate 1/16″ gap between the actuator rod and the adjuster. If it is necessary to make this adjustment, it should be done with water supply attached and unit pressurized. Loosen set screw in top center and rotate adjuster to give the required gap and re-tighten set screw.

  10. Plastic bolt caps and plastic washers (H) are provided to be used as indicated in the illustration.

Gerber will not be responsible for the use of non-original parts during installation or repair.

ATTENTION :
DO NOT EXPOSE PLASTIC TRIM PARTS TO STRONG OXIDIZING AGENTS, CHLORINE, OR ACID LEVELS OF LOWER THAN 5.0 pH. SOME BOWL/TILE CLEANERS CONTAIN SUCH AGENTS. TANK TYPE BOWL CLEANERS CAN CAUSE TANK COMPONENT FAILURE AND DAMAGE. OUR WARRANTY EXCLUDES SUCH FAILURES.
