Slingshot Phase III Solid Bar Hitch & Receiver Instructions
Tools you will need. Jack, Socket wrench, Ext. Bars,
15mm Socket, 17mm socket and 19mm socket, Torque wrench, #40 Torx tool Breaker bar.
- Place your Sling on a flat surface.
- For safety Chock your front wheels.
- Gear shift in neutral and emergency brake off.
- Jack up back wheel slightly so wheel will turn by hand.
- Remove belt guard 3 #40 Torx screws.
- Loosen and remove shock bolts one at a time.
- Insert new longer shock bolts one at a time going in towards tire.
- Now remove original caliber bolt you
- Now align the receiver in place and align with new longer caliber bolt with supplied star washer and hand tighten ONLY at this time. 19mm socket for this bolt.
- Align shock bolts with receiver holes and push through and place star washers on and nuts. Now tighten all three caliber and shock bolts to 60ft pounds with Torque wrench.
- Re-install belt cover. Insert male portion hitch with ball into receiver an put pin and retaining clip in.
- Put your emergency brake on, lower your sling and remove jack
- Install Hitch Tightener “ Mandatory” your WILL NOT REUSE IT. DONE!!
NOTE: 60ft Pounds Torgue on all three nuts & Caliber bolt.
Do not install led ring lighting on rear wheel with receiver. There will be a bolt alignment problem with the Slingshot receiver.
