Internal Timber Door

YOUR INTERNAL TIMBER DOOR
Thank you for your purchase! Enjoy your new door!

  1. This door must be stored dry and flat, raised from contact with the floor, not on an edge or end. Take care to avoid scratching or marking in any way. Any light marks can be removed with fine sandpaper.

  2. This door should be kept in protective packaging until fitting to maintain appropriate moisture content. Thoroughly inspect the door prior to undertaking any further processes.
Any complaints received regarding, dents, scratches etc cannot be accepted once works have commenced on the door

  3. Check the door size against the frame. If the door needs trimming, remember do not reduce the door by more than 5mm off any given edge, and make any reductions equally from both sides or top and bottom.

  4. It is essential to fully treat this door prior to hanging. Ensure that this door is correctly treated following the manufacturer’s finishing instructions of your chosen finish, in full. Failure to do so will negate any claims for any defects/issues which may arise. Apply the finish equally to both faces and all four edges, paying particular attention to the top and bottom of the door , where end grain is exposed to variances in climate moisture content. All hinge recesses and lock cut outs should be treated. Timber is a natural sustainable product and if not correctly treated is subject to changes caused by variation of climatic conditions. If this door is exposed to these changes without the correct treatment, it could possibly cause movement, swelling, shrinking, warping or splitting. It is recommended that a minimum of 3 coats of finish is applied.

  5.  Doors fitted into more humid environments, e.g. bathrooms and kitchens, should be fitted with three hinges to provide more rigidity and prevent bowing.

  6. When installing a mortice latch, do not fit at a rail joint as this will affect the integrity of the joint.
