Roth Sverige Touchline SL Fall Out Wirelessly connected
Product Information
The product allows the user to connect a wireless outdoor temperature sensor. This wireless outdoor temperature sensor helps in activating weather-based control and displays the current outdoor temperature on the master control unit’s display. Only one wireless outdoor temperature sensor can be registered on the master control unit. The product comes with an included bracket for mounting the outdoor sensor. The outdoor sensor must be located on the north side of the house. If this is not possible, the sensor must be mounted without direct sunlight. The product also allows for setting set points for weather control and average time periods required by the controller to check the outdoor temperature.
Product Usage Instructions
- To use the product, connect a wireless outdoor temperature sensor to activate weather-based control.
- Mount the outdoor sensor on the north side of the house using the included bracket. If this is not possible, mount it without direct sunlight.
- To set set points for weather control, navigate to the menu and select “Setting of set points for weather control.”
- To set the average time period required by the controller to check the outdoor temperature, navigate to the menu and select “Setting average time.”
- Adjust the setpoints and average time period as needed for the best savings and comfort in the house.
Description
It is possible to connect a wireless outdoor temperature sensor, which allows the user to activate weather-based control, as well as read the current outdoor temperature on the display of the master control unit. It is only possible to register one wireless outdoor temperature sensor on the master control unit.
Registration of Roth Touchline® SL wireless outdoor temperature sensor:
To register an outdoor sensor, select the External sensor on the control unit.
Select “Registration” when the control unit searches for a sensor, and press
the learn button on the outdoor sensor, (fig. 1) within 120 seconds. When the
registration is successful, the control unit displays “Sensor registered” and
the outdoor sensor flashes twice.

Installation
Mounting of the outdoor sensor with the included bracket. The outdoor sensor
must be located on the north side of the house. If this is not possible, the
sensor must be mounted without direct sunlight. Fig. 9.
Weather Control
Roth Touchline® SL weather control bases its algorithm on the outdoor sen-
son’s average temperature measurement over a set period, standard 24 hours. If
the temperature at some point, within the time period, exceeds the set point,
which by default is 15 degrees, the heating does not start in one/ more rooms
despite the temperature being below the SET point for the rooms. This is based
on the expectation that the decrease in room temperature is short-lived due to
the outdoor temperature and therefore there is no need to supply heat to the
room, as it is expected that the room is supplied with enough energy from
outside after a short period. This saves energy, especially if a heat pump is
used, as it prevents unne cessary starting of the heat pump. In older houses,
this temperature drop may be greater, and therefore it may be necessary to
raise the temperature to ensure the comfort of the rooms. You can decide for
each room whether they should be controlled by the weather control. To
activate Roth Touchline® SL weather control, select “Weather control” under
the “External sensor” menu and activate it with “On”.
The setting of set points for weather control
To achieve the best savings while achieving the best comfort in the house, it
may be necessary to adjust the setpoint’s weather control.
Setting “average time”
The average time period required by the controller to check the outdoor
temperature does not exceed the set point is defaulted to 24 hours. This means
that if the temperature within the last 24 hours has exceeded the setpoint
temperature, the master controller will not release the item to the selected
rooms. This period can be shortened if desired.
Setting the “temperature limit”
The temperature limit is the temperature that must not be exceeded within the
time period. If the temperature limit is set too low, there is a risk that the
temperature fluctuations in the room temperature will be too great and this
will affect comfort. The lower the temperature you can set the temperature
limit to, the better economy you will get on the plant. If the temperature is
set too high, the weather control will have no effect as the temperature will
not be exceeded. Indicative temperature settings: Buildings with poor
insulation: 18 – 20 degrees Buildings with medium good insulation: 15 – 18
degrees Buildings with new insulation (low-rise buildings): 13 – 15 degrees
.
Calibration of the outdoor sensor.
The outdoor sensor can be calibrated if the measured outdoor temperature
diers from the actual measured temperature (it is best to use an infrared
thermometer). The range for calibration setting is from -10°C to + 10°C with
an accuracy of 0.1°C.
