Intended use
Monitoring safety edges on doors and gates, in combination with a receiver
XRF.
Safety instructions
- Read these operating instructions thoroughly before putting the device into operation and keep them for future reference.
- Follow all the recommendations given in this manual to avoid serious danger to persons.
- Do not use this product other than for its specified application.
- Pay attention to all local relevant electrical safety regulations.
- Only trained and qualified personnel may install and initialize the device.
- The installer is responsible for testing the system to ensure it meets all applicable safety standards.
- After accessing the inside of the device, ensure the cover/protection seal is closed tightly to achieve designated protection rating. The device must not be used without the cover mounted.
- This device contains batteries. Observe the local regulations for battery disposal.
Installation
Connect battery
- Loosen screw (at original delivery shipped in bag with Philips screw driver #00)
- Carefully pull out the PCB
- Plug in connector
- LED flashes 5x, confirms battery connected
- Pairing (see item 3.2) if required
- Slide in the PCB again: alignment of battery, position of wire (X)
- Close the housing, tighten the screw
Pairing
- Initiate pairing on Rx, see receiver manual.
- Pairing is possible with open cover or later in mounted situation.
Open state: press button on transmitter Mounted state: press the safety edge 2 times within 2 sec.
Mounting
The device is designed for the concealed installation in the contact profiles
of Expert System, see assembly and mounting instruction.
However, it can be wired with other safety edges e.g., where space is limited.
Built-in:
- XRF-TI
- Sensing edge XL (e.g. on a sliding gate)
Surface mount:
- XRF-TI
- Sensing edge (e.g. Click Line on an industrial door)
System check
Mandatory after each set-up!
- Make sure that the LED flashes when activating the sensor element (pressing the sensing edge).
- Make sure that the LED flashes again when releasing the sensor element.
- Make sure that the door/gate stops when the sensing element is activated.
Trouble shooting
Warning indicator for low battery voltage
Battery change
- Order new battery (prepared with connector)
- Pull out the PCB, see item 3.1
- Disconnect battery, unplug and remove battery
- Insert new battery, plug in connector
- Slide in the PCB
- Close the cover again
- System test mandatory!
- Dispose used battery according to local regulations
