BBC BIRCHER XRF-T.2 Dual Channel Wireless Transmitter
Product Information
The XRF-T.2 is a transmitter for the XRF wireless transmission system. It is designed to monitor 1 or 2 safety edges and switches on doors and gates, in combination with a receiver XRF. The device comes with a push button, an LED, a CR2450N battery, and a DIP-switch. It is intended for use in monitoring safety edges and switches.

Safety Instructions
Ensure that the wiring with the sensor is permanently installed and
protected against external damage according to EN ISO 138492 Tab. D.4.
Installation
- Open the cover by lifting it at the screw end, then slide away.
- Set the DIP switch according to sensors (safety edge/switch).
- Route the cable and provide strain relief.
- Insert the battery and watch LED for status indication.
- To change status, press the button on the transmitter for 1.5 sec, watch LED for status indication.
- Wait for 10 sec to save changes.
- Initiate pairing on Rx (see receiver manual).
- Pairing is possible with open cover or later in mounted situation.
- Mandatory system check after each set-up.
Battery Change
- Loosen the two screws.
- Open the housing (lift, then slide).
- Remove the battery.
- Insert the new battery (check polarity).
- Put on the cover (slide, then push down).
- Attach the screws.
- Mandatory system test.
- Dispose of used battery according to local regulations.

Intended use

Safety instructions
- Read these operating instructions thoroughly before putting the device into operation and keep them for future reference.
- Follow all the recommendations given in this manual to avoid serious danger to persons.
- Do not use this product other than for its specified application.
- Pay attention to all local relevant electrical safety regulations.
- Only trained and qualified personnel may install and initialize the device.
- The installer is responsible for testing the system to ensure it meets all applicable safety standards.
- After accessing the inside of the device, ensure the cover/protection seal is closed tightly to achieve designated protection rating. The device must not be used without the cover mounted.
- This device contains batteries. Observe the local regulations for battery disposal.
Installation
Opening cover
Lift cover at screw end, then slide away.
Cable routing, strain relief
- Determine the cable routing.
- Break out the respective part of the cover if necessary.
- Punch hole into the grommet.
- Insert cable (cable Ø: 3.1 – 5.2 mm).
Wiring / set-up
DIP switch setting
Set DIP switch according to sensors (safety edge/ switch). A change of the DIP switch will be confirmed by a (slightly delayed) flash of the LED.
Wire cross-section: 0.25 – 0.75 mm
- IN2 is only active when used with dual channel receiver (see receiver manual)
How to change inputs from NC to NO (not for 8k2 applications)
- Insert battery, watch LED for status indication.
- To change status, press button on the transmitter for 1.5 sec., watch LED for status indication.
- To save changes, wait for 10 sec.

Note: when using the NC inputs the wiring with the sensor must be permanently installed and protected against external damage according to EN ISO 13849‑2 Tab. D.4.
Pairing
- Initiate pairing on Rx (see receiver manual).
- Pairing is possible with open cover or later in mounted situation.
System check
Mandatory after each set-up!
- Make sure that the LED flashes when activating the sensor element (pressing the sensing edge).
- Make sure that the LED flashes again when releasing the sensor element.
- Make sure that the door/gate stops when the sensing element is activated.
Troubleshooting
Warning indicator for low battery voltage
Battery change
- Loosen the two screws
- Open housing (lift, then slide)
- Remove battery
- Insert new battery (check polarity)
- Put on the cover (slide, then push down)
- Attach the screws
- System test mandatory!
- Dispose used battery according to local regulations
