Thank you for purchasing our Chest Freezer. Please read the following information carefully before using the product:

• Specifications and performance data are subject to change without notice
• The product comes in four different sizes: 3.4 Cu. Ft., 5.0 Cu. Ft., 7.0 Cu. Ft., and 8.7 Cu. Ft.

Product Usage Instructions

Please follow these instructions to ensure proper usage of the Chest Freezer:

1. Choose a suitable location for the chest freezer, making sure it is level and stable.
2. Remove all packaging materials and clean the interior of the freezer with a mild detergent solution before use.
3. Plug the freezer into a grounded electrical outlet that matches the voltage and frequency specified on the rating label.
4. Turn the temperature control knob to the desired setting. We recommend setting it to “4” for normal use.
5. Allow the freezer to cool down for several hours before adding food items.
6. Do not overload the freezer with too many items as this can affect its performance.
7. Keep the freezer door closed as much as possible to maintain the temperature inside.
8. Clean the freezer regularly and defrost it when necessary to ensure optimal performance.

• We recommend that you wait 4 hours with the freezer upright before plugging the appliance in, to allow the refrigerant to flow back into the compressor.

Safety for children and vulnerable persons
This freezer is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or a lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given instructions regarding the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. The following precautions are advised:

• Keep all packaging away from children to avoid risk of suffocation.
• Protect children from being burned by touching the hot compressor located at the bottom rear of the appliance.
• Don’t place items on top of the appliance as this could cause injury should they fall off.
• Never allow children to play with the appliance by hanging or standing on top of the freezer or inside the basket or chest compartment.
• If you are discarding the freezer, pull the plug from the outlet, cut the power cord as close to the appliance as you can, and remove the door to prevent playing children from suffering electric shock or suffocation.
• This appliance features a magnetic door seal; if it is replacing an older appliance featuring a spring lock (latch) on the lid, destroy the spring lock before discarding the old appliance. This will prevent playing children from suffocating.

General Safety
This appliance is intended to be used in

• households and similar applications, such as:
• staff kitchens in shops, offices and other workplaces;
• farm houses and other residential dwellings;
• by clients in hotels, motels, or bed and breakfast type establishments;
• catering and similar non-commercial uses.

WARNING- Do not use any means, other than those stated in this manual, to accelerate the defrosting process, including hair dryers.

WARNING- Check the power cord and plug for damage. If either are damaged, leave the appliance unplugged and call customer service for replacement, which must be installed by a qualified technician in order to avoid a injury, damage to the appliance, or voiding the warranty.

Refrigerant and the risk of fire:
This appliance contains a small quantity of the refrigerant isobutene (R600a) within the refrigerant circuit, a natural gas with a high level of environmental compatibility, which is nevertheless flammable. During transportation and installation of the appliance, ensure that none of the refrigerant tubing becomes damaged to avoid the risk of fire as R600a is flammable.
WARNING- Freezers contain refrigerant and gases in the insulation. Refrigerant and gases must be disposed of professionally as they are flammable may cause eye injuries or ignition. Ensure that tubing of the refrigerant circuit is not damage prior to proper disposal at an authorized waste facility.

Warning: Risk of fire/flammable materials!
Keep burning candles, lamps, lamps, naked flames, or any ignition sources away from the appliance. If the refrigerant circuit becomes damaged: Thoroughly ventilate the room to avoid the risk of fire and eye injury should any leakage of refrigerant (R600a) exist.

Electrical safety

To avoid the risks that are always present when using an electric appliance, we recommend that you read and follow the electrical safety instructions below:

• Unpack and check the appliance over. If any damage is evident, don’t plug in the appliance, keep all packing materials, and immediately contact customer service.
• The cord must not be altered in any way as it may overheat and cause a fire.
• Make sure the cord is not trapped or damaged when positioning the freezer.
• The plug for the appliance must be accessible after installation.
• Do not pull the cord to unplug the freezer. Pull by the plug.
• Do not plug in or use the appliance if the outlet or socket is broken. There is a risk of electric shock or fire.
• You must not operate the appliance without the interior lighting lamp cover.
• Do not place power strips or extension cords immediately behind the appliance due to heat from the compressor.
• This appliance is fitted with a 3-prong grounding plug with a rated current of 115V/60Hz. The grounding plug should be in accordance with current specifications for use in all houses fitted with 115V sockets. If the outlet doesn’t support 3- prong plugs, do not cut off the ground prong. Instead, please contact a qualified, registered electrician to install the correct outlet.
• Do not use extension cords or plug adapters, which could overload the circuits and could cause a fire. Always plug the freezer into its own dedicated outlet which has a voltage rating that matches the rating plate.
• Turn the freezer off and unplug it from the outlet before cleaning or moving it.

Replacing the LED light:
WARNING – The LED light must not be replaced by the user! If the light is damaged, contact customer service for assistance.

• DO NOT touch the frozen foods inside the freezer or the freezer compartment itself with wet hands as this could result in frostbite.
• Pictures are for reference only, and may be slightly different from the actual appliance.

BEFORE USE

• Remove the freezer from the shipping box, along with all plastic, etc.; leave the door open to ventilate the appliance.
• The appliance is cleaned prior to shipment. However, we recommend cleaning the interior again after delivery.
• This appliance has a 3-prong grounding plug which requires a 115V/60Hz wall outlet.
• Leave the freezer unplugged and upright for 4 hours to allow the refrigerant to flow back into the compressor.
• Run the appliance for about 1 hour before placing items into the freezer, to allow enough time for the compartment to cool.

To prevent moisture loss, odor transfer, or leaking: prior to freezing, food should be placed into separate non-toxic, tasteless, impermeable, waterproof, sealed bags or containers. Hot food should be cooled to room temperature before being put into the freezer to prevent both heat transfer to other stored foods and increased power consumption. Review the Table below prior to freezing food, to ensure items are suitable for storage in your chosen appliance: One, two, and three-star compartments are not suitable for freezing fresh food. Two-star compartments are not suitable for storing pre-frozen food, storing or making ice cream, or making ice cubes.

This appliance performs best according to the operational temperature chart on the right. It may not work properly if left to operate for a long period of time outside the indicated range.

INSTALLATION AND SET UP

Cleaning before use

• Unpack the appliance and check it over. If any damage is evident, don’t plug in the freezer and immediately contact customer service, keeping all packing materials.
• Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and any interior accessories with lukewarm water and neutral soap, then dry thoroughly. This removes the typical smell of a brand new product.

Important! Do not use detergents or abrasive powders, as these will damage the finish. Appliances must not be exposed to rain. Sufficient air must be allowed to circulate around the lower rear section of the appliance, as poor air circulation can affect performance. The freezer should be positioned away from heat sources such as stoves and direct sunlight.

Installation Position requirements
Warning! Before installing this appliance, read the Safety instructions carefully, for the correct operation of the appliance and to avoid personal injury.
Any electrical work that is required to install this appliance MUST be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Warning: THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE GROUNDED

• The supply voltage should be 115V/60Hz AC. If the sockets in your home can not sustain a constant 13 amp draw, and do not accept the 3- prong grounding plug supplied with the freezer, contact a qualified electrician for replacement.
• The use of adapters or extension cables is not recommended.
• The plug has a removable fuse cover that must be reattached after the fuse is replaced. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until the cover or the plug is replaced.
• A damaged plug should be cut off as close to the plug body as possible, the fuse should be removed and the plug disposed of safely.
• Plug the freezer into a dedicated 115V/60Hz AC wall outlet. Do not tamper with the plug in any way.
• Make sure the plug remains accessible after installation.
• This appliance is intended for freezing food and/or beverages only in the environments described on page 1. The freezer is heavy. Be careful when moving it.
• Never stand, climb, or sit on the freezer.
• Frozen food must not be refrozen once it has been thawed out.
• Keep burning candles, lamps, and all naked flames away from the freezer so they do not set the appliance on fire.

Leveling

• The appliance must be level in order to eliminate vibration. To level the freezer, it should be upright with both adjusters in stable contact with the floor.
• You can adjust the level by unscrewing the feet in the front to the appropriate level using your fingers or an adjustable wrench.

Important!
To prevent the risk of overheating or fire, the compressor located at the back of the appliance must not be against a wall. Good ventilation is required to allow heat to dissipate around the freezer, increase efficiency, and lower power consumption. Sufficient clear space should be maintained around the freezer. There must be 3 in. (75mm) between the back of the freezer and the wall; at least 4 in. (100 mm) of space on either side, a height of over 19 in (500 mm) above its top.

TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT AND OPERATION

Insert the plug into a dedicated, grounded 115V wall outlet.

TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT

• To change the temperature inside the freezer, turn the temperature control knob on the front of the appliance near the bottom. We recommend selecting MID for most applications.
• Turn the knob to the right towards MAX to make food colder.
• If it is too cold, turn the knob to the left towards MIN.
• To stop running the appliance temporarily, turn the knob all the way to the left to OFF.
• This appliance is intended for freezing food and/or beverages only in the environments described on page 1. The freezer is heavy. Be careful when moving it.
• Never stand, climb, or sit on the freezer.
• Frozen food must not be refrozen once it has been thawed out.
• Keep burning candles, lamps, and all naked flames away from the freezer so they do not set the appliance on fire.
• To avoid causing damage to the appliance, do not overload the appliance with too much food in the chest compartment.

EFFICIENT OPERATION
Adhere to the following instructions in order to reduce energy consumption.

• To prevent cold air from escaping the chest freezer, open and close the door quickly; keeping the door opened for as short a time period as possible.
• Install the appliance in a dry, well-ventilated location to avoid high moisture.
• Never use the freezer to store water or food that requires water as a storage medium. Never place fresh seafood containing water directly into the appliance.
• Position the freezer away from direct sunlight, rain, or frost; avoid standing the freezer near heat sources, stoves, fires, or heaters.

DAILY OPERATION

• Do not store flammable gas or liquids in the appliance. There is a risk of an explosion.
• Do not operate any electrical appliances in the freezer (ie. ice cream makers, mixers etc.).
• When unplugging the freezer, always pull the plug from the socket, do not pull on the cord.
• Do not place hot items near the plastic components of the freezer.
• Do not place anything directly against the air outlet on the rear wall.
• Store pre-packaged frozen food according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Food manufacturer’s storage recommendations should always be strictly adhered to. Refer to package instructions for storage.
• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer as this puts pressure on the container, which may cause it to explode and damage the appliance.
• Do not touch items or remove them from the freezer if your hands are wet, as this could cause frostbite.
• Do not consume popsicles, ice cubes, or any other frozen food straight from the freezer as this can cause frostbite or freezer burn to the mouth and lips.
• Opening the door for long periods can cause a significant increase of the temperature in the freezer compartment.
• Clean accessible drains, as well as surfaces that regularly come in contact with food.
• Store raw meat and fish in sealed, airtight containers so it does not contaminate other food.
• If the freezer will be empty for extended time periods, turn it off then defrost, clean, and dry it, leaving the door propped open to prevent mold growth inside the appliance.

DEFROSTING AND MAINTENANCE

IMPORTANT! This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications, such as:

• staff kitchens in shops, offices and other workplaces;
• farm houses and other residential dwellings;
• by clients in hotels, motels, or bed and breakfast type establishments;
• catering and similar non-commercial uses. To prevent the risk of fire or shock, after cleaning the freezer check the following:
• Is the cord plugged firmly into a dedicated wall outlet? Confirm that the plug is not abnormally hot.
• Check the power cord for cracks and damage. Should any damage be evident, do not plug it back in: contact customer service.

WAIT 5 MINUTES OR MORE BEFORE RE-STARTING

• Restarting the freezer immediately after it has been turned off may cause: fuses to blow, the circuit-breaker to trip, the compressor to be overloaded, and/or other damage to the appliance.

CLEANING AND DEFROSTING Caution!
Cleaning
To prevent electrical shock or personal injury by, turn off and unplug the freezer before cleaning.

• Do not clean the appliance with metal objects, steam cleaners, essential oils, solvents, or abrasive cleansers.
• Do not use sharp objects to remove frost from the freezer. Use a plastic scraper.

EXTERIOR
Wipe down with a soft, dry cloth. A cloth that has been moistened with detergent may be used if needed for highly soiled surfaces; wipe with a damp cloth dipped in clean water before drying.
WARNING: To prevent a short-circuit and/or electrical shock, do not splash water directly onto the chest freezer; do not submerge or wash it with water.

INTERIOR

• Clean the freezer regularly to keep it sanitary at all times.
• Never use polishing powder, soap powder, benzine, oil or hot water as these will damage the painting and plastic components.
• Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
• Open the door and wipe clean with a dry cloth.

DEFROSTING
Defrost the freezer compartment two or three times a year, when the ice is about 3/20th in. (4 mm) thick. To defrost, follow these steps:

• Turn the temperature control knob to MIN at least 12 hours before defrosting.
• After the 12 hours has elapse, switch to OFF and unplug the freezer from the outlet.
• Remove all food from the freezer; wrap them in paper before storing in a cold place. Leave the freezer door open.
• After defrosting, the freezer compartment must be cleaned and wiped dry.
• Plug the appliance back in and turn it on by rotating the temperature control knob to MIN; wait one hour before replacing the food.
• After a few hours, turn the knob back to its original position.

WARNING: Do not use steam cleaners, heat guns, or any other appliances to speed up defrosting, unless directed by the manufacturer.

Service

• Any electrical work required to service the appliance must be carried out by a licensed electrician. This product must be serviced using only genuine spare parts provided by the manufacturer.

DISPOSAL OF THE APPLIANCE

It is prohibited to dispose of this appliance as household waste. Dispose of this appliance in accordance with Federal and Local regulations. Refrigerants must be evacuated before disposal. Packaging materials with the recycle symbol should be disposed of in a suitable waste collection container for recycling.

Before disposal of the appliance

1. Pull the electrical plug out of the outlet.
2. Cut off the power cord and discard along with the electrical plug.
