Manual Prompter met Flip-Q software

Important notice!
Make sure the monitor screen is connected and switched on BEFORE you start the
computer! Otherwise, you’ll have to set the proper desktop configuration
settings manually or restart the computer when you’ve completed the
installation of the prompter system.
– Connecting the PC with the prompter system:
- Connect the power supply to the monitor screen of the prompter system
- Connect the screen to the computer with the supplied VGA-cable
- Turn on the screen of the prompter system
- Connect the controller (USB) to the computer
- Connect the USB-key with the Flip-Q software to the computer
- Connect the power supply to the computer
- Open the laptp. Normaly, it will start automatically. If not, use the -button.
– Log on with the Prompter account. You don’t need a password.
– Activate the Powermate by clicking on the icon in the Windows Taskbar.
– Double-click on “Flip-Q Shortcut” to start the prompter software.
– Activate in the Settings-tab the 2 screen and check following settings:
- Primary Display Settings: Normal.
- Secondary Display Settings: Normal.
– To open your text file choose: File / Open as white text.
– To start prompting the text, click the button with the “lightning”-icon (on the right).
The text now appears at the bottom of the screen and scrolls up.
You can adjust the speed by twisting the knob of the Powermate or by using the
arrow keys on the keyboard.
You can start and stop the prompting with the space bar.
To get back to the menu, click on ESC.
With the “magic wand”-icon you can load a demo text, this is also the manual
for the software.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
– The image on the prompting system appears mirrored.
Change in the Settings-tab the Secondary Display Settings from Normal to
Mirrored or vice versa.
– I can’t read my text after opening the text file.
The background is black by default, therefore it’s sometimes necessary to
change the colour of your text:
- Click the area where the text is supposed to be
- Select the text using CTRL+A
- Right click, choose Font to access the menu and change the color of the font.
– Only the background appears in the prompting system, not the text.
Check the settings in the Settings-tab. The Secondary Display Settings-check
box needs to be ticked (see picture above).
– No image appears on the monitor screen.
- Reconnect the power supply to the screen
- Reconnect the VGA-cable
- Activate the secondary display in Display Settings (see next item).
– A part of the text is missing on the monitor screen.
Both screens should be at the same resolution.
You need to adjust the Display Settings. Go back to the Windows desktop. Right
click on an open space on your desktop and choose Display settings.
These settings must be chosen for both screens:
- Scale and layout: 100% (Recommended).
- Display resolution: 1024×765.
By selecting the 1st screen go to Multiple displays, choose Extend these displays and tick the box Make this my main display.
