Viconics Technologies introduces its newest cost effective solution for upgrading line-voltage fan coil unit thermostats! This two component retrofit option consists of the VTR8300 terminal equipment controller and the VC3000 relay pack. Together, they provide an easy solution for retrofitting fan coil unit thermostats without requiring other components such as relays; transformers, controllers, sensors and network wiring to be upgraded. Existing line voltage wiring between the fan coil unit and temperature controller can be reused further minimizing overall labor and installation costs for both retrofit and new construction control projects. Additional flexibility and energy savings can be achieved with optional wireless door and window switches.
The VC3000 relay pack features an onboard universal voltage power supply and line-voltage relays which directly drive fractional horsepower fan motors and valves. This eliminates the need to install and wire costly pilot relays and transformers. No previous building automation training is required for the easy installation and commissioning process, which can be completed in about fifteen minutes, reducing overall installation time and installation costs.
The VTR8300 controller features a fully digital multi-language touch screen display which can be user customized for different requirements. The controllers built-In commissioning and configuration utility along with its temperature sensor and optional humidity and occupancy sensor provides maximum flexibility. The VTR8300 controller is available in Network Ready, BACnet° MSITP or wireless ZigBee° networked models. Network Ready models can be easily installed with optional network communication modules for either BACnet° MS/TP or wireless ZigBee protocols. The wireless ZigBee communication adapter allows for data exchange and connectivity Into the Niagara AV° software framework and development environment.
