SAFETY INFORMATIONS

Danger! – If you smell gas

  1. Immediately close the gas valve.
  2. Immediately extinguish all open flames.
  3. Open the lid.
  4. Do not operate any electrical devices.
  5. If the smell of gas persists, keep a safe distance from the product and inform your gas supplier or fire department.

Leaking gas is an explosion and fire hazard that can cause serious injury or death. In confined spaces, asphyxiation could occur.

Leak testing
All gas connections on the grill are tested for leaks before delivery. However it is necessary to perform a complete leak test before first use. Run the test on the entire system at regular intervals and before every use. Do the test immediately if you smell gas.

  1. Ensure that all controls are off.
  2. Ensure the pressure reducer is connected to the gas bottle.
  3. Open the gas valve completely by turning it anticlockwise. If you hear a whistling sound, turn the gas valve immediately – there is a leak at the connection.
  4. Check each connection of the cylinder to the gas manifold by brushing or spraying the soap solution on the connections.
  5. If bubbles form somewhere, there is a leak. Turn off the gas bottle valve and tighten the connections. Open the valve and check again.

Be aware!

  • Make sure that all packaging materials including the fastening straps of the burner are safely removed.
  • Do not smoke while doing the leak test.
  • Never perform a leak test with an open flame.
  • Prepare some soap solution (mix water with soap)
  • The leak test should only be performed outdoors and away from ignition sources such as gas , electric devices and combustible materials.
  • Keep the grill away from open flames or sparks during the leak test.

Maintenance
Keep the barbecue area clean and free of combustible materials. Keep the burner holes clean, to obtain a sufficient ventilation of the device. Visual inspection of the burner flames are as follows: When working, the burner flames are mostly blue in colour with a slight yellow tip. If faulty, the burner flames are mostly yellow and have an uneven shape with a strong flickering. There may be an excessive noise as well. In this case the burner and the gas valve must be cleaned immediatly.

CLEANING INFORMATIONS

General cleaning information
Clean the grill regularly. Do not use flammable or harsh cleaners. Do not use metal brushes or tough sponges to clean the surface.
Wait for the grill to cool down before cleaning.
To get the best out of this grill, it is recommended to clean the device after every use.

Burner cleaning

  1. Close the gas line.
  2. Remove the gas distributor.
  3. Check the inside of every burner using a flashlight.
  4. Clean the burner insides using a wire.
  5. Check and clean the openings at the burner ends.
  6. Check and clean the valve nozzles.
  7. Clean the outsides of the burner using a wire brush. This keeps internal passageways free of debris.

Cleaning the grease tray
The grease tray should be emptied and wiped regularly. Only use mild cleaners and warm water for cleaning.
A small amount of sand can be placed inside the tray to absorb the grease.
Spiders and insects
This grill can be a target for spiders and insects like all outdoor products – they like to nest in areas around the burner tube. This can lead to blocking the gas flow and result in a flowback through the air openings.
This can cause a fire around the combustion air openings under the panel, causing damage to your grill. It is recommended to check the burners at least once a year.

Check and clean the burners if the following symptoms occur:

  1. Smell of gas with a yellow and weak flame.
  2. The grill does not reach an appropriate temperature.
  3. The grill heats irregularly.
  4. The burner does not ignite.
