HeliBars Tour Performance Handlebar Riser 2021 Triumph Tiger 900

Installation Instructions – Part # HR06169
1” (25mm) Taller, 1.2” (30.6mm) Rear Offset

Installaton Overview:

***** Cover the fuel tank with a protective cover.

Required Tools:

*** 8mm, 6mm, 5mm & 4mm Hex drives (allen sockets)
*Torque wrench

  1.  Remove silver metal cable stay ( See Photo #1 ) Using a 4mm allen wrench loosen and remove the two screws. ( Red arrow in Photo #1 shows one of the screws) You will need to move the forks left and right to gain access. Photo #2 shows the second mounting screw. There is thread lock on these threads so they come out slow. To remove cables from the stay, simply spread them apart and remove cables one at a time ( See Photo #3 ). Stay and screws removed ( See Photo #4 ). They will not be used with the Tour Performance adapter because the added slack from the stays removal is required. Store parts away.

  2. Remove the bars from the mounts. First cover the fuel tank with a large protective material. You will need an 8mm and 6mm hex ( See Photo #5 ). Hold onto the handlebars while loosening the second cap to keep it from falling. Carefully set the
handlebar assembly in front of the bar mounts ( See Photo #6 ).

  3.  Clean the bar mount surfaces, then position the Tour Performance adapter as shown in Photo #7 , on top of the handlebar mounts. Install the long 10mm factory screws into the forward mounting holes and hand tighten only at this time. Install the two button head screws into the two recessed holes ( See Photo #8 ).Torque the two 10mm screws using an 8mm hex to 35NM (26 ft lbs). Torque the two button head 8mm screws to 20NM (14 ft lbs) using a 5mm hex. ( Caution : button head screws have a very shallow hex bore and are easily stripped. Use a hex (allen) with sharp lower edges, not worn and rounded!)

  4.  Install handlebar assembly and install right side cap using 10mm screws provided in the forward hole and the factory M8 screw in the rear hole, ( See Photo #9 ). Lightly tighten the forward screw first. Locate the cross hair alignment mark, see red arrow in Photo #9 and blue arrow in Photo #10. In this position bars are perfectly centered and rotated to factory spec.

  5.  Torque the forward M10 screws with an 8mm hex to 30NM (22 ft lbs), (See Photo #11). Torque the rear 8mm screws with a 6mm hex to 26NM (18 ft lbs), (See Photo #12).

  6. Place cable tie provided around lower seperate wire loom and clutch cable bundle as shown in Photo #13. Cut off excess cable tie. Photos #14 & #15 show intallation of optional 1” ram ball mounted. Torque to 12 ft lbs.

!! CAUTION!! BARS MUST BE TORQUED TO SPECIFIED VALUES. THEY MUST NOT BE OVERTORQUED. OVERTIGHTENED HARDWARE CAN LOSE INTEGRITY.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ABOUT POWDER COATED HELIBARS
HeliBars® are fi nished with a polyester powder coating. The polyester is recommended for outdoor use because of it’s excellent UV resistant quality; if we were to use an epoxy it would tend to fade and chalk pretty quickly when exposed to sunlight and UV rays. Care must be taken during installation because the fi nish can be scratched by the sharp
surfaces of the controls and master cylinder clamps. When mounting the master cylinders to bars, do not let them move around the bars with the caps loose. Mount them in the proper
position and hand tighten the screws until fi nal adjustments are made; in this way you will lessen the possibility of scratching.

NOTE:

Powder coat fi nish is not indestructible, there are chemicals which may react negatively when applied to fi nish. Brake fl uid may cause deterioration of the fi nish. We do not recommend the use of acetone or similar chemicals for cleaning purposes. We would recommend the use of an over-the-counter adhesive remover (such as Goo Gone) for the removal of any extraneous material. Please read labels directions for any cleaning/polishing product before use.
If you have any questions regarding the use of any over-counter-products with the HeliBars, please call us before applying them to the powder coated fi nish.
If care is taken during installation, your HeliBars will continue to look as good as when they were new. They will look great for years to come with a bit of wax and careful cleaning.
Thank you for your purchase, ride safe and enjoy!

Trailering with HeliBars®

** HeliBars clip ons and handlebars must not be used as the primary holding points for tie downs while trailering. As with your stock bars applying extreme force to the ends of the bars can bend the bars or rotate them on their mounts.
Use a wheel chock and pull the machine down and forward using soft ties or similar, attached to the lower triple clamp.**

** Bars should only be used as secondary attachment points to steady the motorcycle from lateral sway.
Failure to follow these guidelines can cause damage to the bars and the motorcycle, and may also void our warranty.**
