Using

Intended Use
This appliance is designed to open standard round jars with comfort and ease. It is designed for personal use and not suitable for commercial use.

Inserting the Batteries

  1. Slide the battery compartment cover from the housing.

  2. Place 2 batteries of the type LR6 (AA) into the battery compartment (3). Pay attention to the proper polarity of the batteries. The polarity is printed inside the battery compartment. Use alkaline batteries.

  3. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place. You must feel and hear it click into position.

Notes: Always replace both batteries at the same time. Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries of different types. The appliance will not work if the battery compartment cover is removed.

Using the Jar Opener
Warning! Never place your fingers in or near to the clamping jaws when operating the appliance.

  1. Always remove any safety packaging externally applied to the glass jar.

  2. Once the jar has been placed on a level and non-slip surface, place the appliance in a central position on the lid.

  3. Push down the start button (1) for approx. 3 seconds until the internal clamping jaws (4) have started to move. The external clamping jaws (5) will move inwards until they have a firm hold on the glass. The internal clamping jaws will push down firmly on the lid and rotate to open the lid.

  4. Never leave the device unattended if it is switched on. Allow the appliance to rotate until the lid has opened.

  5. Once the lid has opened, the clamping jaws will return to their original position and stop moving automatically.

  6. Once the appliance has switched itself off, remove it from the lid. Always ensure that the lid has been unscrewed fully. Always hold the jar firmly in one hand whilst removing the lid with the other.

  7. In order to re-open a jar which has been stored in the fridge, first wipe off the moisture from the lid and the glass jar. Any form of moisture on the lid, such as condensation etc. may cause the appliance’s clamping jaws to slip.

Stopping Operation
If you wish to stop the operation, e.g. because the jar is closed too firmly, simply press down again on the start button for approx. 3 seconds. The clamping jaws will return to their initial position.

Maintenance and Care

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or rinse it under running water. Do not use solvents or aggressive cleaning agents.
    1. Remove the battery compartment cover from the appliance and take the batteries out.
    2. If necessary, wipe the appliance clean using a slightly damp cloth and a little mild cleaning fluid.
