Workings of the IR Repeater Kit

Simply set the distribution block that is provided in a spot close to where you want to keep the gadgets you need to use your remote controls on. You will then proceed to run the included IR receiver cable (or the kit’s eye) from this block to a location where you may point the remote control, such as on the TV’s bezel, a shelf ledge, a wall, or another such area. This IR receiver must be placed no more than 30′ from the surface where the remote control will be used.

Now connect one of the emitter wires to the distribution block and run it to the location of your controlled devices. One emitter head from this wire should be placed over the IR receiver on the objects that need to be controlled.

Compatibility

Many people are curious as to which devices our kit is compatible with. All AV equipment that is IR-controlled will function with our repeater kit. Devices including Logitech, Uverse, Onkyo, Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha, Cisco, Scientific Atlanta, Marantz, Denon, LG, Philips, Verizon Fios, Roku, Charter, Dish Network, DirecTV, Epson, and more are covered by this, but they’re not the only ones. Please note: Remote controls that use RF or Bluetooth will not function with the repeater kit.

• Directly Connecting To IR Ports On Gadgets
  You could notice IR in/out ports on some gadgets. You MIGHT be able to connect our kit to such devices using a Male to Male cable. This is not a guarantee that it will operate flawlessly. It will depend on whether the manufacturer of the gadget wired their port similarly to how our kit did and handled the signal. We can confirm that many Onkyo & Denon devices work with this, but we can’t guarantee it.

• Plasma TVs
  Unwanted infrared signals are emitted by plasma TVs. These stray signals may, in extremely rare circumstances, interfere with the kit’s functionality. In some situations, only relocating the IR receiver a little bit farther away from the TV will cure the problem. TVs made with LED and LCD don’t have this issue.

• CAT5 lines for extending
  We provide a packed CAT5 adaptor kit for this, which can be bought separately. The components can also be purchased separately if necessary.

Next, you will need to connect your IR receiver cable or eye to the distribution block and then point it in a direction where you can easily press your remote control’s buttons. After that, you will need to plug in the power adapter and connect it to an outlet. Lastly, you will need to plug in the IR emitters and place them where you want them.

How long can an IR extender cable be?****

The standard length of the IR receiver cable is 2 meters; it can be extended up to max. 300 meters, using a UTP or an equivalent cable

How does the IR remote extender work?****

IR Extender cable enables us to control connected external devices with TV using the Smart Touch Control. IR Extender sensor sends an IR signal to a corresponding external device.

Why do I need an IR extender?****

If you want to keep your TV Box or TV Adapter out of sight and still use your remote control to change channels, you’ll need to use an IR Extender or IR Receiver. An IR Extender or IR Receiver is included with your TV Adapter equipment.
