Cautions

2.1 In order to protect yourself from electric shock, please cut the power before installing.
2.2 Screw the Recessed Lighting into the socket and turn on the power.
2.3 If you want to further ensure safety, you can connect the ground wire. The connection steps are as follows：
2.3.1 Find the mark of the ground wire of the junction tin box (As shown in the picture below)

2.3.2 The required installation materials (screws, wiring lugs, as shown in the figure) are placed in the installation consumables bag.

2.3.3 Connect the screws, nuts and wiring lugs as shown below

Note: The driving power of this product (downlight set) is driven by an isolated power supply, the lamp body of the downlight is made of plastic- coated aluminum insulation material, and the shell of the driving power board is an insulated plastic box. The grounding wire can be connected to the junction iron box for safe grounding. When installing the wiring, please pay attention to the distinction between the neutral wire and the ground wire to avoid accidents. Please install it by a professional installer.

Setting Smart Life APP

Smart Life APP will be updated constantly, app interface might look different from this manual. Please don’t hesitate to contact us by E-mail: service@BANWEY.com if you have any problems.

Step 1: Scan the QR code or search “Smart Life”on Apple store or Google Play to download and install the Smart Life APP.
Step 2: Launch the Smart Life App and register. Enter your phone number or email to set up your account.
Step 3: After you have registered in Smart Life APP, now you can follow the next steps to add your smart devices into your account.
4.Hub Setting
4.1 SIG Mesh Hub
4.1.1 This Hub can only support 2.4G WIFI network and cannot work with 5.0G network, please make sure your WIFI router has
2.4G frequency.
4.1.2 Turn on WIFI and Bluetooth on your smart phone when configuring this Hub. Further more, connect your phone to WIFI, and make sure this SIG Mesh Hub is not far from the WIFI router.
4.1.3 Press and hold the Reset Button for 9 seconds, wait until the blue and red led indicators go out, release the button the led will back on again, and the red Led will start to blink.

4.1.4 Open the “Smart Life” app and click the “+” at the upper right corner, the Hub will automatically pop up and waiting to be added.

4.2 SIG Mesh Recessed Lighting
4.2.1 Add Recessed Lighting by Mesh Hub
After the Bluetooth SIG Mesh Hub is successfully added, you can add SIG Mesh devices by the Hub. Choose the Hub in you devices list, and use “Search for new device” at the right bottom corner. 4.2.2 Add Recessed Lighting Directly
These Lighting can be connect and control by smart phone through Bluetooth.
If you do not have the SIG Mesh Hub, you can add this Lighting at the main page of Smart Life APP. Trigger the Recessed Lighting into configuring mode(Switch ON and OFF for 3 times and the Recessed Lighting will turn into flashing or breathing mode). Click the “+” at the upper right corner, new Lighting will be detected and ready to be configured. Late on, if you have add a SIG Mesh Hub into your account, you can also add these Lighting to the Hub in the Hub interface. Adding the Lighting to the hub will enable you to remote control of the Recessed Lighting by using Smart Life APP.

How to set up with BANWEY Recessed Lighting

1. Download the smart life app
2. Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone
3. Tap “Add Devices”on home page and the hub will pop up to be added immediately
4. Enter the WiFi password to connect your phone with the hub （password does not include symbols)
5. Click on the hub and tap “search new device”
6. Turn the Recessed Lighting on and off 3 times when you finally see the Recessed Lighting to light on each cycle(breathing mode) till it brightens
7. Click “Confirm” and select the “Auto Scan” and wait for the Recessed Lighting to pop up so that you can add them.

6.How to authorize family to control Recessed Lighting？

1. Enter the Smart Life APP click “Me”
2. Click on “Home Management”
3. Then enter the family that needs to be set up.
4. Click “My Home”
5. Click “Add Member”
6. Finally enter family account information.

7. How to control multiple Recessed Lighting at the same time？

1. Click on the “Home” page.

2. Choose one of the Recessed Lighting you want to control.
   (Note: If you want to control multiple Recessed Lighting at the same time, you must keep WiFi and Bluetooth turned on at the same time. And the lights must be close to the Mesh Hub)

3. Click the“…” option in the top right corner.

4. Click “Create Group”

5. Choose all the Recessed Lighting you want to control.

8.How to control the downlight with Amazon Alexa?

1. Add devices in Smart Life app (Refer to No. 5)
   (Note:change device name to a easily recognized word or phrase, like “kitchen light”)

2. Set up Echo(or Echo Dot and other model) with Alexa app
   2.1 Open the Alexa app (Search “Amazon Alexa” in App Store or Google Play to install the app) by tapping the app icon on your mobile device and log in with your Amazon account.

2.2 Tap the hamburger menu on the top left corner, select “Settings”, then tap “SET UP A NEW DEVICE”.

2.3 Select your Echo model, choose a proper language, then tap “CONNECT TO WI- FI”.

2.4 Long press the action button(about 6 seconds) on the top of your Echo device until the orange light shows up, then tap “CONTINUE”. When your phone is connected to Echo, tap “CONTINUE”.

2.5 Select a Wi-Fi, Type in the Wi-Fi password, then tap “CONNECT”. Echo may take several minutes to connect the network.2.6 Tap “CONTINUE” when Echo is connected to the network. After an introduction video, tap “CONTINUE” to finish the setup.

3. Link Smart Life account to Alexa
3.1 Tap “Skills” in the menu, then search “Smart Life”. Select “Smart Life” and tap “ENABLE” to enable the Skill.3.2 You will be redirected to the account link page. Type in your Smart Life account and password, don’t forget to select the country/region where your account belongs to. Then tap “Link Now” to link your Smart Life account.

Control smart devices via Echo

4.1 Echo needs to discover your smart devices before it controls them. You can tap “DISCOVER” to discover the smart devices. Discovered devices will be shown in the list.(Note:every  time you change the device’s name on Smart Life app, Echo must re-discover before you control them.)   4.2 Now you can control your smart devices via Echo. You can use the commands to control your devices like “Alexa, turn on kitchen light ”
9.How to control the downlight with Google Home?

1. Add devices in Smart Life app (Refer to No. 5)
   (Note:change device name to a easily recognized word or phrase, like “kitchen light”)

2. Set up Google Home with Google Home app
   2.1 Open the Google Home app (Search “Google Home” in App Store or Google Play to install the app) by tapping the app icon on your mobile device and tap “ACCEPT” to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Allow Google Home app to access the device location to discover and set up nearby devices.

2.2 Tap “SIGN IN”, choose one Google account that you already logged in on your mobile device. Or follow the instructions to sign in with a new Google account.

2.3 The Google Home app scans nearby devices. The devices must be energized and ready to set up. Tap “SET UP” to set up your Google Home.

2.4 When Google Home app is successfully connected to the Google Home device, tap “PLAY TEST SOUND”, it will play a test sound to confirm you are connected to the right device.If you heard the test sound, tap “I HEARD IT”.2.5 Select the Room (ex Kitchen) where your Google Home is located. This helps you identify the device when you want to cast to it. Choose the Wi- Fi network you want to connect to your Google Home. Enter your password. Then tap “CONTINUE”.

2.6 Google Home will attempt to connect to the provided Wi-Fi network. When Google Home is successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network, tap “CONTINUE”.2.7 In order for the Google assistant to answer your questions, you must sign into your Google account, then tap “SIGN UP”. Choose the Google account you want to link to your Google Home device, then tap “CONTINUE AS XXX”. Enter the address where this Google Home is installed, and select your default music service.

2.8 Tap “SKIP TUTORIAL” to finish the setup. You can also tap CONTINUE to watch the Google Home tutorial.

3. Link Smart Life account in Home Control
3.1 Tap “Home Control” in the menu on the Google Home app’s home page, then tap “+”.

3.2 Find “Smart Life” in the list. In the new window, select your Smart Life account’s region, type your Smart Life account and password, then tap “Link Now”. After you assign rooms for devices, your devices will be listed in the Home Control page.
4. Control your smart devices via Google Home
Now you can control your smart devices via Google Home. The supported voice commands are as below:
“Hey Google, turn on kitchen light”
10.How to control the downlight with Siri?

1. Add devices in Smart Life app (Refer to No. 5)
   (Note:change device name to a easily recognized word or phrase, like “kitchen light”) 2. Link Smart Life to the Siri
   2.1 Tap “Setting” coin in you mobile phone and find the Smart Life application in the “Setting”. Tap it.
   2.2 Tap “Siri & Search” and keep all the function on(Note: Keep the WiFi and Bluetooth on).

2.3 Open the Smart Life App, in the “Smart” interface, select “Tap-to-run”, click “Create Scene”, or “+” in the upper right corner, create a task instruction.

2.4 Tap “Launch Tap-to-run”, then tap “Run the device” and select the device you have named.

2.5 Then, we can choose the function we want. We take the function of the switch as an example. Tap “ON/OFF” and select “ON”, click “Save”, then tap “Next” in the upper right corner. Tap “Name” to edit the shortcut like “kitchen light on”(Note: Must contain the previously named device name) and tap “Save”.

2.6 We will create a task card in the Smart interface. Tap “Add to Siri” in the bottom right corner and select the shortcut you have created, click “+” to add to Siri2.7 Tap “Add to Siri”. Then you can say “Hey Siri, kitchen light on” to turn on the light that you select. If you want to turn off the light, you should repeat the above steps to  create a new shortcut. The same goes for other functions.

Warning

1. Please do not unplug the middle interface when the power is on, If you need to unplug, please unplug the power in advance.
2. Turn power off from the electrical panel prior to installation.
3. Determine the location for installation and cut ceiling hole in accordance with cut-hole dimensions. The hole size is: 105mm
4. Open the junction box cover and remove the appropriate knockout(s) on the side panel.The junction box cover is best to face up.
5. Using quick-connect push-in terminals, connect the ground wire to the same terminal; connect the black wire to the same terminal; connect the white wire to the same terminal.
6. Place all wiring and connections back in to the box and close the cover. Connect the driver to the light panel.
7. Insert junction box through the mounting hole.
8. Push spring-loaded clips on the fixture upwards and insert fixture base in to the mounting hole. Release the clips and fixture will be pulled flush to the ceiling.
