The Essence Mobile Desktop Phone provides a convenient way to make and receive calls on your desktop. It comes with basic and advanced features that make it easy to use. With the ability to synchronize contacts with Google or Exchange account, you can easily manage your calls and messages.

Product Usage Instructions

Getting Started
  1. Open SIM and battery cover
  2. Insert SIM card
  3. Insert battery and close cover
  4. Attach stand leg AB
  5. Attach stand leg
  6. Connect receiver cable
  7. Select appropriate socket and attach it to the power adaptor (EU, UK or US)
  8. Plug in USB cable into the phone and power adaptor
  9. Plug in power adaptor and turn the phone on by holding the power button
  10. Enter the PIN code in case your SIM card is PIN protected
  11. Make your first call as on your desktop phone. Pick up the receiver and dial the number. Wait for the other party to pick up.
First Setup

The most convenient way of setting up your phone is to use a web browser. Press the registration button to confirm registration. You can then:

  • Add your contacts: If you use contacts in Google or Exchange account, you can synchronize them with Essence. In JabloTool, select Settings > Synchronization and turn the synchronization ON. If you want to import phonebook from your mobile phone, export it to a PC first (CSV format) and import it to JabloTool – select Contacts > More > Import. Or select Contacts and add your contacts one by one.
  • Call list and text messages: Click on the phone to see the call history and read text messages.
  • Phone settings: Select Settings to divert incoming calls or update your phone.

FIRST SETUP

The most convenient way of setting up your phone is to use web browser.1

  • Go to www.jablotool.com;

  • Create a new account free of charge;

  • Select Add new > Add phone;

  • For security reasons the registration must be confirmed on the phone.
    Press to confirm the registration;

  • Now you can use www.jablotool.com to access your contacts, call history, text messages and phone settings.

Add your contacts
If you use contacts in Google or Exchange account you can synchronize them with Essence. In JabloTool select SettingS > SynchronizAtion and turn the synchronization ON.

If you want to import phonebook from your mobile phone export it to a PC first (CSV format) and import it to JabloTool – select contActS > More > iMport. Or select contActS and add your contacts one by one.

Assign Hotkeys for quick dial
Assign Hotkeys to contacts you call often. In JabloTool select contActS > ASSign contAct and choose a stored contact. Edit and print your own Hotkey label – select print hotkeyS.

Call list and text messages
Click on phone to see the call history and read text messages.

Phone settings
Select SettingS to divert incoming calls or update your phone.

Make sure data is enabled on your SIM card. Typical monthly data traffic is less than 10 MB. If you do not have SIM card with data you can set up your phone manually.

BASIC FEATURES

REJECT
When phone is ringing just press . You will reject the incoming call.
When you are calling you can use to end this call.

REDIAL
Press to open the list of recently dialed phone numbers. Press once more to dial the number.

CALL HISTORY
To see All calls you can press . To see Missed calls press again.
If is flashing red you have a missed call. If is flashing red too you have missed call from contact stored under the Hotkey.

HANDS-FREE CALLING
Dial the number (don’t pick up the receiver), press the and wait for the other party to pick up and talk.
If you have a regular call on the receiver, press and phone will switch to hands-free. Put the receiver on hook. If you want to switch the call to handset again pick up the receiver. You will end the hands-free call by pressing or .
During hands-free calling the lights up.
You can start hands-free calling directly when you choose required contact in phonebook and press . You will accept a call on hands-free by pressing .

CALL AND RINGER VOLUME
Use the  and buttons during the call to raise or lower the call volume. When you are not calling, these buttons change the ringer and sounds volume.

MUTE
Time to time you need to ask your colleague and do not want the other caller to hear it. In this case, mute the phone’s microphone by pressing and start private conversation. Press the button again and continue in phone conversation.
LED light of will be flashing when the private conversation is active.

SILENT PROFILE
Press and you will not be disturbed by incoming calls and messages. If someone calls you, only the top right LED will be flashing and you will see the call on display.
Active silent profile profile is signalized by steady LED .
Pressing during ringing mutes just the call ringing.

ADVANCED FEATURES

CONFERENCE CALL
Join up to six people into a conference call easier than ever before. Simply call the first person and add more callers one after another.

Setting up a conference call
Call the first participant as usual and ask him to wait for a moment. Press , select
Conference and select another caller. Confirm by and wait for calls to be established and joined. Repeat to add more callers.

Private talking during the conference call
You can privately talk to a single caller during a conference call. Press and select Private # and choose from a list of all conference callers. To end the private call and get back to conference, press and select Join calls.
You can release one or more callers from the conference call in a similar manner. During a conference call press , select Release # and choose from a list of all conference callers.
You can also ask the other party to simply hang up their receiver.

CALL TRANSFER
The call transfer function allows you to forward the active call to another phone number.
If you want to transfer current call to someone else, press , choose the contact from the list and confirm by . Wait for connection to the selected contact. Both parties will be put trough once you hang up.
To cancel the transfer process press and get back to the first caller.
Some of the advanced call functions will not work properly unless they are supported by your GSM operator.

CALL WAITING
The call waiting function indicates an incoming call even when another call is in progress.
To use the call waiting function, please check that you have activated it.
Press > Settings > Calls > Call Waiting.

CALL DIVERT
In case you are leaving for a longer period of time, divert incoming calls to a colleague or your mobile phone. Press > Settings > Calls > Call divert to set up.

  • All calls Diverts all incoming calls.
  • If busy When someone calls you and you speak to someone else.
  • If no answer When someone calls you and you do not answer the call for 5 to 30 seconds.
  • You will set the time when you activate this divert.
  • If unreachable When someone calls you and the phone is OFF or it has no signal.
  • Cancel all diverts Cancels all call diverts.

MESSAGING
When you receive a message, a notification will be shown on the display. Long press to open the message. Use the to scroll down. Other common tasks like Reply, Forward,
Delete or number saving and message details are available under .

Composing messages
Enter the messaging menu by pressing , select Messages and Write new. Write the message using the multi-tap method. To insert special characters, get back without sending or start over, press and choose your option. The deletes letters, and   arrows move you around. To change the writing mode press# . To send the message, press and either press a Hotkey, choose from Phonebook using or directly enter a phone number and confirm by . You will receive a delivery receipt once the message is delivered.

Messages memory
The messages memory in the phone is limited to a total of 100 incoming and sent messages.
When the limit is reached, oldest messages are being automatically deleted to free up the space for new messages.

HEADSET SUPPORT
If you are a heavy caller, you can use a headset. Plug the headset into RJ-11 to 2 × 3,5 mm jack adaptor (available on www.noabe.shop) and connect the adaptor to the Essence instead of receiver. Turn Headset mode on using > Settings > Phone > Headset active.
Type a number or choose a contact and start the call with pressing . If you press instead, the call will be a usual hands-free call, just like without headset. To answer incoming call press . To end or reject a call, press .

MANUAL SETUP

We recommend setting up your phone in a web browser, see Chapter 2 First setup. If your
Essence SIM card has no data you can set up your phone manually.

CONTACTS

  • Add contact
    Press >New contact… Enter the contact details. You will save changes by pressing .
    Phone will confirm with „Contact stored“.
    When the contact is saved, press and hold a Hotkey to assign it to the contact.
    You can also choose to save a contact from the calls list or from a text message by pressing >Store number.
    To write + sign press two times.

  • Edit contact
    Press and scroll down to your contact. Press  >Edit and start editing. Save changes by pressing , short press to delete typed text or long press to discard changes.

  • For more options scroll down to your contact and press . You have the choice to Call
    this contact, Add a new contact to the contact list, Assign a Hotkey to this contact, Delete your contact, Delete all contacts or Synchronize contacts.

HOTKEYS

  • Saving from Contacts
    Open phone book by pressing , select required contact, then go to contact options by pressing ****and select Assign Hotkey. If your contact has more numbers you will select which number to assign as Hotkey and confirm by .
    Hotkeys shining green are empty. Hotkeys shining red already have a stored number.
    Hotkey LED flashes when the stored contact is calling you.
    Hotkey LED shines when you are calling the stored contact.
    Slow flashing of signalizes missed call from the stored contact.
    To delete stored contact press  for 5s and confirm by pressing

  • Saving by pressing Hotkey
    Type phone number and press empty for 3 seconds. Or press empty for 3 seconds and select required phone number from contact list and confirm by pressing .
    If you press the Hotkey for 3 seconds you can see stored contact , hold longer a confirm by to to delete the contact from Hotkey. If the Hotkey is empty phonebook will open.

PHONE SETTING
Press > Settings > Phone to set Date & time, Language, Phonebook sorting,
Display contrast, Activate headset or find out Firmware version.
Press > Settings > Sound to adjust the volume of incoming call ringing (Notification volume), select ringing melody (Ring melody), SMS melody (Sms melody) adjust volume when you speak on handset (Handset volume) / Hands-free (Handsfree volume), and adjust Keyboard sounds

Safe Handling
Install and use the device and accessories only for its intended purpose, follow its user guide.

  • Stop using your device or accessories when they are damaged. Do not disassemble your device or its accessories, only authorized service may repair them.
  • Keep your device and accessories out of reach of open flames, lit tobacco products, liquid, moisture or high humidity.
  • Your device including accessories may become warm during charging and during normal use. Do not use your device if it is overheated.
  • Do not store your device near magnetic fields.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or aerosols to clean the device or accessories.
  • Keep your device and accessories out of reach of children.
  • Users of cochlear implants, pacemakers or other medical devices should consult their doctor and the device manufacturer to determine if Jablocom device may interfere with the medical device.

Battery and Charger

  • Use only JABLOCOM approved accessories. Do not connect incompatible products or accessories.
  • The device is designed to be powered from the power adaptor. Due to limited capacity of the backup battery inside the device you should not rely solely on the device to make emergency calls.

Interference
Your device contains a transmitter and a receiver. When it is ON, it receives and transmits energy via radio frequency. To comply with the international guidelines for the exposure to radio waves, the device is to be placed in a position where the distance from the user body is normally greater than 20 cm. The highest value of radiation measured according to these guidelines is lower than the SAR limit for the exposure to radio waves 2W/kg. Declaration of conformity is available at www.jablocom.com.

WARRANTY

To make a claim under the warranty, please return the device to Jablocom authorized service centre in your country. Follow the steps at www.jablocom.com/service. Devices which meet warranty conditions will be repaired or, at our discretion, replaced free of charge. The warranty is valid only if all following conditions are met:

  • The device is returned with all its accessories,
  • The device including its plastic parts and accessories is not visibly damaged,
  • The device was not disassembled by unauthorized personnel,
  • Device does not show signs of contact with liquid; device was not exposed to high humidity,
  • The warranty claim date does not exceed the latest warranty date,
  • Original receipt issued to the original purchaser by the dealer, specifying the date of purchase and the IMEI corresponding with the device, is enclosed,
  • The fault is described in writing. Electronic version of repair protocol is available at www.jablocom.com/protocol.

The warranty does not cover batteries that are exhibiting diminished capacity due to normal use.

Under no circumstances shall JABLOCOM be responsible:

  • For any malfunction of the device due to failure to follow the user guide, use outside of its intended purpose, unauthorized modification or improper repair.
  • For any loss of data or income or any special, incidental, consequential or indirect damages howsoever caused.

As the device is under continuous development, JABLOCOM reserves the right to make changes and improvements to any of the products described in this document without prior notice.
