Chevrolet 4596214 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
-
Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
-
Throttle Body » Remove — Throttle Body Assembly Replacement
-
Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
Danger: The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death. -
Wrap a shop towel around the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (1) at the fuel injection fuel rail to absorb any fuel that may leak out.

Remove and DISCARD the fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (1)
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution.

Install the NEW fuel injection fuel rail fuel pressure sensor (1) and tighten to:

First Pass: 20Y (15 lb ft)

Final Pass: 15 degrees

Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the electrical connector (1). Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

Electrical Connector (1) » Connect

Throttle Body » Install — Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is less than 30 grams (67.42%), enable the DPF. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable
-
If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is 30 grams (67.42%) or greater, refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Service Regeneration.
