Calibre audio Dolphin EasyReader App

When you first download the EasyReader app, you will either need to sign in or register for a free Dolphin account.

Accessing Calibre audiobooks

Once you have signed up, you will go straight to the ‘My Books’ list every time you open EasyReader. This contains a list of all the books available for you to read. If you have not added any books to your list, EasyReader will provide instructions for adding a new title or you can follow the next step.

Downloading your first audiobook

1. Select the ‘side menu’ button at the top left of the screen
2. Select Calibre Audio from the list. If you are not logged in to the library, you will be asked to enter your login credentials. If you do not know your membership number, username or password, please contact Membership Services on 01296 432339 or email them on enquiries@calibre.org.uk.
3. To search for a book, select All Books which takes you to a search bar. You can also select ‘categories’ to browse the collection.
4. Once you have found a book, tap on the book cover for more information about the book, including a synopsis (where available) and the option to borrow the book. If you click the Borrow button, the book will be added to My Library, where you can then download it.
5. Click My Library, select the title and then choose the ‘download’ button to download the book to your device. Whilst the book is downloading, the download progress will be displayed.
6. Once the download has completed, you can open the book and begin listening using the ‘open’ button. The book will also be available in the ‘My Library’ list. Tap the book cover to open the book.

1. Side menu
   This allows you to access the menu of libraries and your account

2. Bookmarks
   You can add bookmarks to an audiobook and also add notes to go with it – either text or record audio

3. Style settings
   You can alter the font size, spaces and colours to make the app look just how you want it to

4. Audio settings
   Here you can set the speed of the audio as well as notification sounds. The volume is controlled in the normal way using the phone

5. Book options
   With these options you can set a sleep timer, find out where in the audiobook you are, or get more information about the audiobook

6. Track listing
   Using the track listing you can navigate to a desired track by tapping on it

7. Player controls
   The player controls allow you to play, pause, skip forwards or backwards within the track

8. Navigation settings
   With these settings you can alter the skip forwards / backwards amount

Returning an audiobook

1. Select the ‘side menu’ button at the top left of the screen
2. Select “My Books”
3. Tap on the information icon to the right of the title you want to return
4. Tap on the bin icon in the top right of the screen and confirm when the dialog box appears
5. In “My Books” you can also swipe left on the book title to reveal a ‘delete’ option.
