MACHINE•SPECIFIC SAFETY WARNINGS

SAFETY WARNINGS FOR JIGSAWS
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Cutting accessory contacting a “live’ wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and could give the operator an electric shock.
a. Keep hands away from the sawing range. Do not reach under the workpiece. Contact with the saw blade can lead to injuries.
b. Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on. Otherwise there is danger of kickback when the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
c. When the cut is completed, switch off the machine and then pull the saw blade out of the cut only after it has come to a standstill. In this manner you can avoid kickback and can place down the machine securely,
d. Use only sharp, flawless saw blades. Bent or unsharp saw blades can break or cause kickback.
e. Do not brake the saw blade to a stop by applying side pressure after switching off. The saw blade can be damaged, break or cause kickback.
f. Use suitable detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage or may cause an electric shock.
g. Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand.
h. Keep your workplace clean. Blends of materials are particularly dangerous. Dust from light alloys can bum or explode.
i. Always wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool.
j. Never use the machine with a damaged cable. Do not touch the damaged cable and pull the mains plug when the cable is damaged while working. Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric shock.
GENERAL WORKING STAND SAFETY WARNINGS
WARNING
READ ALL SAFETY WARNINGS AND ALL INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH THE WORKING STAND AND THE POWER TOOL TO BE MOUNTED. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in elechic shock, fire and/or serious injury.
a. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
b. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments or changing accessories. Accidental starling of the power tool is a cause of some accidents.
c. Properly assemble the working stand before mounting the tool. Proper assembly is important to prevent risk of collapse.
d. Securely fasten the power tool to the working stand before use. Power tool shifting on the working stand can cause loss of control.
e. Place the working stand on a solid, flat and level surface. When the working stand can shift or rock, the power tool or workpiece cannot be steadily and safely controlled.

USE

GETTING STARTED
Thank you for purchasing the Dremel Moto-Saw. The Moto-Saw is a compact and very easy to use 2-in-1 scroll saw. It can be used either in stationary mode, when the tool is docked in its base or in hand-held mode. This tool is intended to perform precise straight and curved cuts in different materials including soft wood, hard wood, composite boards, laminate. PVC or soft sheet metal using the applicable accessories recommended by Dremel. Using the Moto- Saw in stationary mode gives you the freedom to cut different materials with both hands holding your work piece. In this mode you can complete different hobby or wood working projects precise and easily. Using the Moto-Saw in hand- held mode is advisory when the work piece is too big or fixed and therefore cannot be put onto the base. Typical hand-held operation includes coping work or cutting smaller pieces of materials. In hand-held mode the Moto-Saw functions as a motorised copinglftet saw.
STATIONARY MODE

  1. Make sure the base is securely attached to a flat work surface with the help of the clamps provided. The base can be permanently secured to a work bench with regular screws through the 2 holes located on the top of the base. PICTURE 1

  2. DO NOT sit or lean on the base. The base is meant to support the materials being cut.

  3. Once the base is secured, dock the Moto-Saw in it: first feed the cable through the base’s hole and then simply click the unit into the base. The Moto-Saw Is securely docked, when the hand-held unit and the stationary base are flush. PICTURE 2-4

  4. Only use the Dremel Moto-Saw in the base. Other electric power tools are not intended to be used with the base.

  5. For a clean work environment and for better line of sight, attach a vacuum cleaner to the dust port.

  6. Once your saw blade is inserted as per the user guide. the tool is ready for operation. PICTURE 5.9

  7. Start the tool and let the tool come to the right speed before contacting the work piece. DO NOT turn the switch ‘ON” and ‘OFF” while the tool is under load.

  8. Press down the Hold-Down Foot onto your work piece to prevent it from bouncing. To minimise vibration hold your work piece with two hands close to the saw blade.
    WARNING
REFER TO THE PERSONAL SAFETY CHAPTER IN THIS MANUAL.
    **WARNING
** REFER TO THE PERSONAL SAFETY CHAPTER IN THIS MANUAL.

  9. Do not push your work piece too hard against the saw blades. These blades are for delicate use. Therefore it is important that the blade has time to cut the materials. Excessive pressure on the work piece will result in early blade snapping.

  10. Before beginning work on your project. make a few practice cuts on scrap material.

HAND-HELD MODE

  1. Keep pressing the Quick Release Button while detaching the Moto-Saw unit from its base. PICTURE 13
  2. Once the tool is detached. the Moto-Saw can be held in your hand. PICTURE 14
