The Foseal OBD2 scan tool is an easy-to-use, inexpensive WIFI OBD-ll adapter that can turn your smartphone, tablet, or laptop into a sophisticated diagnostic scan tool and real-time performance monitor. Find out why your Check Engine Light is on, read and clear engine trouble codes, and display real-time sensor data on your phone or tablet with the use of a downloaded OBD-II App(APP not included).
How to know if your vehicle is OBD ll compatible:
All 1996 and newer vehicles (cars and light trucks) sold in the United States must be OBD ll compatible. (Please check the mission label under the hood for the text saying it is OBD ll/EOBD certified).
For Canada, the year is 1998 and after.
European Union(EOBD): since 2001 (gasoline) or 2004(diesel)

How to connect it?

This scanner will show a red light on means its power is on. Enable wifi on your phone, and connect with WIFI ”WiFi_OBDII”.

Torque Lite (free app) or Torque Pro default Bluetooth connection, so please switch the connection type to “WiFi” first, otherwise, the scanner can not connect to the app.

Indicator light:

  1. Turn on the ignition key, plug in the adapter, and all the lights will be flashing.
  2. The red light stays on, which means the power is on. open the APP, and click on the connection.

Troubleshooting

WIFI-OBD ll is not showing up on my phone’s WIFI list.

Check if the adapter is fully plugged in and if the cigar fuse if your vehicle is in good condition. You can also try it on another vehicle to verify.

OBD-ll adapter not found by App.

Make sure your key is on and your WIFI is connected with “WIFI-OBDII” Check the App connection settings (Connection type WIFI, IP 192.168.0.10 & port 35000) and restart it. If you use static IP. Try HDCP. If it still does not work. try with another App.

Cannot connect to a car or detect OBD-ll Protocol

Verify if your vehicle is OBD2 compliant and which OBD2 protocol which might not be recognized. Then try it on another vehicle to see it the adapter is working.

What is the difference between WiFi OBD2 and Bluetooth OBD2?****

WiFi OBD2 is more stable and faster than Bluetooth OBD2.

What is the difference between Foseal WiFi OBD2 and other WiFi OBD2 on the market?****

How to know whether the vehicle is compatible with OBD2?****

There should be a 16 pin DLC(Diagnostic Link Connector) usually under the dash and behind ashtray and a note on a sticker or nameplate under the hood; OBD-ll compatibility/certified

Does the OBD2 tool have Bluetooth options?****

No, FO01 only offers a WIFI connection option.

Dose the FO01 supports android phone/tablet?****

Yes, the FO01 supports Android but you need to verify if the Android Apps at your choice supports a WIFI OBD2 adapter. Some Android Apps require a Bluetooth one.

Can i leave the scanner plugged in all the time?****

We strongly suggest you remove it from the OBD port and do not leave it plugged in if it’s not in use for hours because the OBD2 port is always powered and the adapter will still have low power consumption when the vehicle is turned off.

Which sensor data can i get?****

OBD2 Readings, EOT, EGT, Throttle. Boost, Speed, Fuel Trim, DPF Temp, Balance Rates and more. Remember readable parameters depend on what’s installed in the OBD ll system by the manufacturer. Generally, never vehicle will give more readings. Please also note that more sensors you have on the list the refresh frequency is lower.

What is the use of car code reader?****

Any problem code in your automobile can be read out with a simple equipment called an OBD2 scanner or car code reader. You can learn more about the problems by doing this.
