IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Read the user manual carefully before installing and using the infrared heater. This operating manual contains important information about your safety, as well as some recommendations on the proper use of the appliance and its maintenance. Keep the operation manual together with the warranty certificate, the sales receipt and, if possible, the cardboard packaging and packing material. The infrared lamp you have purchased may differ in some way from that described in the manual, but this does not affect the way it is used or its operation. Important precautions and instructions provided in this manual do not include all possible methods and situations you may encounter. You must understand that common sense, caution and care are the factors that cannot be “built in” to any product

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Read the instructions before installation and use. Certain precautions must be observed when using the infrared heater. Improper operation without observing the precautions may cause damage to the health of the user and other people, as well as damage to their property.
  • I nstallation and electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  • Use only the voltage indicated on the heater nameplate.
  • Connect the appliance only to a properly installed power outlet with ground contact.
  • The heater must be connected to the mains with a 2-pole circuit breaker.
  • A 30mA residual current device is strongly recommended.
  • The unit must be handled with care and avoid vibration or shock.
  • CAUTION: THERE IS A RISK OF FIRE IF THE HEATER IS COVERED OR PLACED NEAR CURTAINS OR OTHER COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS.
  • Do not use the equipment in areas where gasoline, paint, or other flammable liquids are used or stored.
  • Do not use the device in areas with a high risk of explosion.
  • Do not use the appliance in a construction site, greenhouse, barn or stable where there is flammable dust.
  • Do not use the unit as a sauna heater.
  • Do not use this unit in the place where animals breed or grow.
  • CAUTION: To avoid burns, do not touch the surface of the unit with your hands or other parts of your body.
  • Do not place any clothing, towels or the like on top of the heater to dry. Risk of overheating and fire
  • Do not leave the heater unattended during use.
  • Do not use this heater on a wet surface, or where it can fall or be pushed into water.
  • Do not touch a device that has fallen into water. Turn off the power and unplug immediately.
  •  I f the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid a hazard.
  • I f the heater is defective, it must be checked and repaired by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons to avoid danger.

WARNING:

  • Do not operate the device with wet hands.
  • Use this equipment only as described in this manual. Any other use is not recommended by the manufacturer and may cause fire, electric shock or injury.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning products on this unit. Clean with a damp (not wet) cloth rinsed only with warm soapy water. Always remove the plug from the power supply before cleaning.
  • The heater must be installed at least 1.8 m above the floor when the heater is wall mounted.
  • The heater must not be located immediately below a power outlet. The outlet should not be located at the rear of the heater. It should be located outside the physical footprint of the units to minimize heat buildup behind the heater. The installation must have a disconnect mechanism on all poles with a minimum contact gap of 3 mm. The all-pole disconnect mechanism must be installed less than 1.8 m above the floor.
  • The heater must be installed so that switches and other controls cannot be touched by a person in the bath or shower.
  • Do not connect the unit to the power source until it has been installed in its final location and adjusted to the position in which it will be used.
  • Do not operate with the cable coiled as this may cause heat build-up, which could be dangerous.
  • The use of an extension cord with this unit is not recommended.
  • Do not allow the cable to come into contact with heated surfaces during operation.
  • Do not run the power cord under carpeting, rugs, runners, etc. Place the cord away from areas where it could trip.
  • Children under 3 years of age should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
  • Children 3 years of age and under 8 years of age should turn the appliance on and off only if it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have received supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the
  • appliance and understand the hazards involved. Children 3 years of age and under must not connect, adjust or clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
  • This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and over and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the safe use of the appliance and understand the dangers involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance of the appliance must not be carried out by children without supervision. -The appliance is intended solely for the purpose described in the operating instructions.
  • Do not use the appliance or any part of the appliance outside of its intended use to avoid risk.
  • The use of accessories not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause a risk of injury to persons.
  • CAUTION: Parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention should be paid to children and vulnerable persons. This heater is not equipped with a room temperature control device. Do not use this heater in small rooms when occupied by people who are unable to leave the room alone, unless constant supervision is provided.

INSTALLATION

The CALDO-I-BOX heater is designed specifically for installation and use in outdoor environments such as verandas, terraces, patios, courtyards, porches, gazebos and outdoor areas.

  • Attention: The appliance must only be operated in a horizontal position with a maximum slope of ±5°.
  • Never install the unit on a flammable surface (plastic, nylon, cardboard, etc.).
  • Install the device at a minimum distance of
    • 1.8 m above ground
    • 0.6 m from walls
    • 0.24 m from the ceiling
    • .5 m from easily flammable objects such as curtains
    • 1 m from people or animals

Wall-mounting operations

NOTE: The structural elements of the wall and fasteners must be able to support 5 times the weight of the heater. Select the installation location carefully, ensuring that all minimum distances and safety requirements have been met. For plasterboard walls, the holes should be aligned with the wall structure if possible. Use a stud detector to ensure that as many holes as possible are aligned with the wall framing. Install the mounting bracket on the wall using the screws provided. For installations on concrete walls, use the screws provided along with the appropriate concrete anchors provided. For installations on other wall materials, such as drywall (frameless) or brick, ensure that the appropriate mounting hardware is used.

Drill three holes for the Ø6mm dowels on the wall using a suitable tool and insert the three dowels into the holes. Screw two screws (M5 x 30mm) into holes 2 and 3 as follows and leave the screw head 2mm outside the wall or anchorage.

Screw the M5 x 30mm screw firmly into the dowel (position 1).

DISPLAY
Remote control

MECHANICAL CONTROL MODE

Connect the heater to a 230-240V~ 50-60Hz power outlet. Set the rocker switch to position I: the heater will start to operate on high power but no indication will appear on the display. Attention: The remote control cannot operate the heater at this stage.

SHUTDOWN MODE
Connect the heater to a 230-240V~ 50-60Hz power outlet. Set the rocker switch to the O position: the heater is off.

Operation with REMOTE CONTROL
Connect the heater to a 230-240V~ ,50-60Hz power outlet. Set the rocker switch to position II, the heater will turn on in standby mode. The “- -” symbol flashes.

The distance between the heater and the remote control should be less than 10 feet and the remote control should be pointed directly at the receiver.

  • Press the “ON” KEY on the remote control, the heater will run on high power (P3);Press the “LOW”, “MED” and “HIGH” buttons on the remote control, the heater will operate with the power settings LOW and MED, HIGH, and the symbol “P1” “P2” “P3” will be shown on the display area.
  1. (LOW LOW)

  3. (HIGH HIGH)
  • P1: 33% of rated power
  • P2: 66% of rated power
  • P3: 100% of rated power

TIMER FUNCTION
The heater is equipped with a programmable timer that automatically puts the heater into Standby mode after 1, 2, 3, 4 … max. 13 hours of operation.
To activate the timer, point the remote control directly at the receiver and press the “1 hr” button. , “01” will be indicated on the display area as shown below. this will trigger the heater to automatically go into Standby mode after 1 hour of operation. Once in Standby mode, the “- -” symbol will flash.

This will cause the heater to automatically go into Standby mode after 1 hour of operation. Once in Standby mode, a red LED will flash.
To set the 13 hour timer, point the remote control directly at the receiver and then press 1 2 4 6 on the remote control, “13” will appear on the display. This will automatically put the heater into Standby mode after 13 hours of operation. Once in Standby mode, the “- -” symbol will flash.

ATTENTION

  1.  While the timer is running, the number on the display shows the remaining time. Example: The 13- hour timer is activated, the display shows “11” after 2 hours of operation;
  2. During the timer operating time, the display will alternately show the working power and the remaining timer.
    • Disable or reprogram the timer. If the timer is enabled, pressing the same button a second time will reprogram or disable the timer.

Example 1. After activating the 13 hour timer by pressing button “1” “2” “4” “6”, successively pressing button “1” will reprogram the timer to (13-1) = 12 hours, successively pressing button “2” will reprogram the timer to (13-2) = 11 hours. By pressing several other buttons in sequence, the timer can be reset to 0, the heater enters Standby mode and the symbol “- -” flashes.
Example 2, a timer of 6 hours is set by pressing button “2” “4”. Press button “2”, the timer is set to 6-2 = 4 hours, press button “4” immediately after, the timer is set to 0, the heater goes into standby mode and the “- -” symbol flashes.

CAUTION: There is a built-in safety feature that will automatically trigger the heater to go into standby mode after eight hours of continuous operation if the timer is not activated. At this time the “- -” symbol will flash to indicate that the unit is in standby mode.

Cleaning

  • Disconnect the device from the power supply;
  • After the device has cooled down, the housing can be cleaned with a dry cloth;
  • Do not touch the lamp element with your fingers as stains may form from such contact.
  • The reflector should be cleaned regularly by a specialist.
    Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents!
    Never immerse the device in water! Danger of death!

Maintenance

Any maintenance or repair, including replacement of the lamp element, should only be performed by a qualified electrician.
