Installation overview
- Measure and mark the location of the dryer port center on the wall.
- Mount bracket and MV-90 to the wall and complete the duct path with rigid metal pipe.
- Mount the dryer-side union to the dryer exhaust port.
- Push dryer into place and allow Magvent’s powerful magnets to complete the installation.
- A quick visual inspection to verify proper seal, and you are done!
- Step 1:
Unplug dryer and remove existing transition duct if necessary. Measure dryer port center from flush side of the dryer and up from the floor, then transfer these measurements to the wall.
Note: Flush side of the dryer is the side of dryer intended to be flush with a counter or adjacent washer unit. The side of the dryer up against a wall will usually have a baseboard gap at the top. Usually the exhaust port’s center of a free standing dryer is located 6″(15.2cm) off the floor and about center of dryer, but measure your specific unit. Take into account baseboard offset if necessary.
Measurement Tip
-
Baseboard interference Measure from baseboard, not from wall.
-
Tablero de interferencia Mida desde el tablero, no desde la pared.
-
Step 2:
Hold mounting bracket to the wall on the center mark with the open part of the bracket running in the direction of the intended vent path, then mark the screw hole locations on the wall with a pencil or screw tip. If you experience a baseboard interference, shift the bracket so it sits flush either on the drywall or on the baseboard.
Note : some installations may benefit from notching or removing the baseboard. -
Step 3:
If bracket is on the drywall, screw the included self tapping wall anchors into the drywall in the marked locations. If bracket location is on the baseboard or other wooden surface proceed to step 4.
Warning!
Always check for live wires with AC sensor before driving screws into the drywall! -
Step 4:
Hold the bracket in position and drive the included mounting screws through the bracket hole and into the wall anchors. If on a wooden surface, drive screws directly into the wood. -
Step 5:
Squeeze the bracket slightly and fit the MV-90 onto the bracket until retaining tabs are engaged in the anchor slots located on the sides of the unit. -
Step 6:
With the MV-90 in place, you can measure for the remainder of the duct system. Remove the MV-90 by squeezing the bracket to disengage the retaining tabs and reattach if it eases your installation. -
Step 7:
Securely attach the flexible duct to the dryer exhaust port using supplied hose clamp and extend hose with a slight tug. -
Step 8:
Plug dryer in and push into position, allowing Magvent’s powerful magnets to self-align and complete duct connection. A quick visual inspection to verify proper seal and your done!
