FAQ’s
Does this function on both UHF and VHF?
HDTV Antenna With Amplified Supports 1080p. Frequency Range: UHF 470-862MHz and VHF 86-230MHz.
Is the amp detachable?
Even though my nearest VHF station is only 12 miles away, I can still hear all the other stations.
In New Jersey, I am Can I access a Philadelphia-based local channel?
Everything, as far as I can tell, is dependent on closeness to location. I have two of these units, which I’ve placed in two various rooms across my home. On both, I receive some of the same channels, but on one, I also receive channels that I do not receive on the other, and vice versa. No matter where I am, all of the channels I receive transmit from a distance of no more than 20 miles, and my signals are powerful.
I intend to use one of them for two televisions. Do I need a specialized splitter or will a standard one work?
Since I’m utilizing a 5-way splitter, the splitter will function.
Can I check to see what will happen in my area with this?
You will have your channels after you receive them, configure them, and run the channel-discover or auto-scan. It will pick up the signal if it is within 50 kilometers. But it also relies on where you put your antenna inside your home.
Can I hold this antenna using a “1byone paper thin tv antennae table stand”?
Yes, you may use that to support your TV antenna.
Can I use this antenna for my TV?
This is a digital HDTV antenna. It can be used for any TV with an analog or digital tuner.
Can I use this antenna for my cable?
No. This is not a cable box or a cable TV. You cannot use it to replace your cable box. It is only an antenna that can be used to watch over-the-air broadcast TV channels.
Can I use this antenna to watch shows from Netflix, Hulu, etc.?
No. This is not a streaming device and cannot stream content from the internet. It only allows you to watch over-the-air broadcast TV channels.
How do I install this antenna?
Please refer to the user manual on the product page for details.
Will I need any additional equipment?
No, you don’t need any additional equipment to install this antenna, but you may need additional cables if your TV doesn’t have enough input ports for the antenna’s coaxial cable.
How far away from the broadcast towers will I be able to receive signals?
The further away you are from the broadcast towers, the weaker the signal will become and the more likely it is that you’ll experience interference from other sources (such as cordless phones, wireless routers, and so on). If you’re too far away from your local towers, you may need an amplifier in order to receive a clear signal. You can find out how far away you are by entering your zip code on our website or by calling your local cable provider and asking them how far away you are from their broadcast towers. If they don’t know, they should be able to tell you how to find out (for example, by looking at a map of their coverage area). You can also check our website for information about broadcast tower locations and signal strength in your area.
What kind of coaxial cable do I need? Is there any special installation hardware required?
The coaxial cable that comes with this antenna has a standard F-type connection on one end (the side that connects to the antenna) and RCA connections on the other end (the side that connects to your TV). You do not need any special tools or hardware in order to install this antenna; however, if you want to mount it outdoors, we recommend using a mast mount kit (sold separately) so that it’s securely fastened in place and protected against damage caused by wind or rain.
