GETTING STARTED
UNPACKING GRAND ORCHESTRA
- Take the GRAND ORCHESTRA out of the packaging and check whether the GRAND ORCHESTRA or the individual parts exhibit damage. If this is the case, do not use GRAND ORCHESTRA. Should you detect any damage, contact your dealer or sonoro audio GmbH customer support immediately.
- Check to make sure that the delivery is complete: 1 speaker, 1 speaker mesh, 2 bass plugs, 4 speaker feet (already mounted), 4 speaker spikes, 4 spike pads.
- Place the GRAND ORCHESTRA at a suitable and safe location. If you want to put your GRAND ORCHESTRA on a natural wood surface, please make sure that it is suitable. On oiled and waxed surfaces, stains may occur.
- Do not touch or push the woofers and tweeter on the front of GRAND ORCHESTRA. This can destroy the speaker.
LEVELLING THE SPEAKER
ATTNETION!
Placing the speaker with the spikes directly to the floor provides the best
acoustical performance but may destroy your floor!
For safety’s sake we strongly recommend always putting the spike pads below
the spikes when placing the speakers on the floor. A helping hand from a
second person is recommended.
GRAND ORCHESTRA are delivered with adjustable speaker feet. By carefully
turning the feet, unevenness of the floor can be compensated to make sure the
speaker stands securely.
For better acoustic decoupling from the floor, we recommend using the supplied
speaker spikes. Just like the feet, they can be adjusted in height by turning.
To do this, first unscrew the pre-assembled speaker feet and replace them with
the spikes.
Please take care of your floor and protect it with the included spike pads if
necessary.
CONNECTING THE SPEAKER
GRAND ORCHESTRA can be connected to amplifiers as show in the picture. To
avoid short circuits, please first switch off the amplifier to which you want
to connect your GRAND ORCHESTRA. Connect the right speaker to the right and
left speaker to the left channel of your amplifier. Be careful not to reverse
the polarity of ✚ and ▬.
When connecting the speaker cable, take notice of the following:
- Do not let the bare wires of the speaker cable touch one another.
- Do not let the bare wires of the speaker cable come into contact with GRAND ORCHESTRA’s rear panel and screws.
REMOVE THE SPEAKER GRILLE
The speakers can be operated with or without the speaker grille.
LOCATING GRAND ORCHESTRA
The distance between the speakers and the distance to your listening position
should form an isosceles triangle.
a = b = c
When you are in your preferred listening position, the tweeter of your GRAND
ORCHESRA should be at the same height as your ears.
d = e
BASS PORT PLUG
If you need to place your speakers too close to the back wall, the bass may be
perceived as too strong. In this case, inserting the foam plugs into the bass
reflex tubes may improve the sound. Please never push the plugs completely
into the bass reflex tubes!
CLEANING
- Cleaning off fingerprints and light soiling: Clean GRAND ORCHESTRA only from the outside with a soft, dry cloth.
- Cleaning off heavy soiling: Clean GRAND ORCHESTRA only from the outside with a slightly damp cloth and then dry GRAND ORCHESTRA with a soft, dry cloth.
- All other cleaning methods may damage your GRAND ORCHESTRA.
ATTENTION!
Do not try to clean the drivers of GRAND ORCHESTRA, this may destroy them!
