SYMPTOM

System does not respond when Alertmaster AM-accessory is tested

Alertmaster console does not respond when Alertmaster AM-accessory is tested.

System activates erratically

CAUSE & REMEDY

Adjust the sensitivity. O r battery needs to be replaced.

The accessory may not be at the right “Channel Setting”. See “Channel Setting” section.

If the System picks up other wireless signals, change channel setting on all components. See “Channel Setting”.

SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT

All accessories have been pre-set to their optimum sensitivity in the factory. But, for best results and to suit your application, follow these steps to adjust their sensitivity:

AM-AX & AM-BX Start at HI and if it is activated easily by other sounds, lower the sensitivity.

AM-DX Raise or lower sensitivity until it is consistently activated by door or chime or intercom.

CHANNEL SETTING

The Alertmaster System uses special radio signals to communicate between the console unit and all its accessories. For the accessories to activate the base unit, they all have to be on the same “channel”. A “DIP Switch” is used for channel selection.

Your system and all the accessories have been pre-set in the factory to a standard channel setting. Under normal operating conditions, there is no adjustment necessary.

If your system encounters interference and repeatedly activates by itself for no obvious reasons, it may be triggered by a system nearby in your neighborhood. Change channel switch settings on all components.

  1. locate the DIP Switches on the under-side of the AM-6000 or the back of the AM-7000 console.
  2. Change the switch setting by turning all individual switches to a different position.
  3. Unscrew housing and locate DIP Switch inside of the transmitter.
  4. Change the switch settings on each of your other accessories (doorbell, Remote Receiver, etc.) to match the new switch setting in the console. All settings must be identical for the system to work.
