IMPORTANT: While in Valet mode the remote will still control power lock and unlock systems. The parking lights will not flash.
- The system can be put into valet one of three ways:
-
While holding the foot brake, cycle the key to the Ignition or ‘On’ position and then

Then, using the unlock button (or right arrow button) move through the features until the “Valet off” option is displayed. Tap the center button one time for ½ second to activate valet mode. The parking lights will flash once, the remote will read “Valet On”. Repeat this process to exit valet mode. The parking lights will flash twice, remote read “Valet Off”
Alarm alerts/Notifications
The 2WQ9 remotes support “Alarm full mode”. This allows the remote to be used
with any of our systems that support security features, remote start features
or both security and remote start features! Remotes in “Full alarm mode” will
receive alarm alerts/notifications (when within range of the vehicle) if the
alarm system is triggered.
NOTE: your Firstech security system is equipped with a “soft disarm”
feature which means 1 unlock/disarm command will only silence or shut off the
siren once it has been triggered. A 2nd unlock/disarm command is required to
completely disarm and unlock the vehicle. This is designed to protect your
vehicle against a person who may try and trigger the security system in order
to get the user to disarm and unlock the vehicle temporarily which could allow
the vehicle to be easily opened.
- The 2WQ9 is default with “Alarm mode” set to full.

Shock Sensor: (ONLY if equipped) This will activate or deactivate any
sensor connected to the shock sensor ports on the Firstech system.
2nd Car Mode: The 2WQ9 can be programmed and control 2 separate vehicles
as long as they both have the same model of antenna (ANT-2WFMX). This feature
will allow the user to switch between vehicles as needed. NOTE: In order to
program the remote to car 2 the 2nd car mode must be set to 2nd car.
Drive lock: Your Firstech system is capable of locking/unlocking the vehicle
doors once the ignition is on, doors are closed, and the foot brake is
pressed. (may not apply to all vehicles)
NOTE: This feature must also be enabled on the Firstech CM in order for
the user to control it. This user feature will activate or deactivate the
ignition controlled door locking function (or drive lock). Once activated the
doors should lock once the vehicle is running, the doors close, and the foot
brake is pressed. They should unlock when the vehicle is shut off or parking
brake is set (only if connected to the CM).
Timer Start: This will activate or deactivate the user feature Timer
Start. Timer start is a User function that when enabled will automatically
start the vehicle based on the time sequence or temperature selected by the
install tech at the time of installation. This is also a feature that is
required to be enabled on the Firstech CM in order for the remote to activate
or deactivate it.
Screen Time out: This will change the length of time the LCD screen stays
awake during use.
NOTE: a longer screen time may reduce battery life between charges.
Remote Chime Volume: This remote feature will allow the user to adjust the
volume of the sounds the remote makes while in use.
NOTE: There is a vibrate (which will only vibrate, no sound) and there is
an off which will disable all sounds and vibration.
Turbo Timer: This user feature will activate or deactivate the Turbo Timer
function. The Firstech system has a built in turbo timer option (not all
Firstech systems are capable of Turbo Timer, please consult with your install
tech for confirmation) which will leave the vehicle running for up to 3
minutes
(based on turbo timer option selected by the install tech) using the remote
start portion of the system (if equipped) by engaging the parking brake (must
be connected to the CM), removing the key, and exiting the vehicle.
NOTE: The Turbo Timer feature must be enabled on the CM by the install
tech at the time of installation, additional connections may be required
Passive Arming: This user feature will activate or deactivate the Firstech
system passive arming. The Firstech system is capable of arming itself
automatically (not all Firstech systems are capable of passive arming feature)
after a preset period of time has passed which will start once the vehicle is
off and all of the connected zones are closed. (Preset time is selected by the
install tech at the time of installation). NOTE: The Passive arming feature
must be enabled on the Firstech CM by the install tech at the time of
installation, additional connections may be required.
Alarm Alert mode: This remote feature will allow the remote to toggle
between “Full” (will receive alarm notifications when within range of the
vehicle) and “Half” (will only receive alerts while remote started) modes. If
you Firstech system is equipped with security, then “full mode” is the
recommended setting.
IMPORTANT: when in Full mode the remote battery life between charges will
be approx. 30-45 days. When the remote is in Half mode, the remote battery
life between charges can reach up to 60 days.
NOTE: The Proximity function requires the remote to be in full mode.
Valet Mode: This feature will allow the user to activate or deactivate
the Firstech system “Valet mode”. All remote start and security functions of
your Firstech system can be disabled at any time by activating “Valet Mode”.
Once in Valet mode your Firstech system will only control the door
locking/unlocking function. If the remote start is attempted the vehicle
should respond with an error 10, the vehicle will flash the parking lights 3
times, then pause then flash 10 more times indicating Valet mode. There are
several ways to enter Valet mode which are in the description above.
NOTE: When entering Valet Mode using the remote the vehicle ignition must
be on.
AUX 1 ICON configuration: The AUX 1 Icon displayed when AUX 1 is activated can
be set to 1 of the 2 options shown on the remote or may be turned off.
NOTE: AUX output configuration must be done at the time of installation
and may require additional parts or connections.
AUX 2 ICON configuration: The AUX 2 Icon displayed when AUX 2 is activated can
be set to 1 of the 2 options shown on the remote or may be turned off.
NOTE: AUX output configuration must be done at the time of installation
and may require additional parts or connections.
AUX Mode: This will allow the remote to control additional AUX outputs that
may be programmed or configured by the install tech at the time of
installation. The remote must have AUX mode enabled in order to access control
of the additional AUX outputs, then disabled to resume normal remote
operation. The additional AUX output activation process can be found in the
table listed above.
LCD Language: This remote feature will change the displayed language
between English, French, and Spanish. This will change the alert
notifications, actions, responses, and display.
