TROUBLESHOOTING

BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE

IF THE HEATER/FAN FAILS TO OPERATE:

  1. Check to make sure that the heater/fan is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again securely.
  2. Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to be operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance.
  3. Check if electricity to the main power switch in the back of the unit appears to be working.
  4. Make sure the heater is in the upright position.

NOTE: For the heater to function properly, the desired temperature on the heater must be set a few degrees higher than the temperature in the room. If the unit seems to not be heating properly, increase the desired temperature on the heater to fully engage the heating elements.

If none of the above solves the problem, contact a qualified technician. Do not try to adjust or repair the heater/fan yourself.

FAQs

What are the approximate dimensions (as close as possible) of this heater at its three widest points, height, width and thickness?****

9″ tall; 7.5″ wide; 6.5″ deep.

Does it have a function to heat without fan/blowing air?****

No; this is a ceramic heater which uses a fan to distribute heat, just like regular fan forced heaters. You might want to try an infrared or convection heater, though I can’t speak on how well they work.

Does this heater heat lower towards the floor?****

Because it is very small, it sits very close to the floor. So, I would say yes. I use it on the floor in front of my couch to warm my feet.

Is there a fan only setting which will blow no heat? I also do not want the heat to be thermostat controlled, I want it to blow constantly.****

Yes, on the fan blowing with no heat & I’ve had mine on most of the winter on high; just shuts off when I turn it off.

Does the heater use less power on low setting? i.e. less than 1500 watts?****

750 watts on low setting.

Do you need to unplug it even with both dials are set to zero?****

it’s not a need.

Does this heater heat closer to the ground area?****

It heats close to the ground, and has a heating element that will shut off automatically when the incoming air is already at sufficient temperature or when the unit is picked up or tipped over. I tipped this over on purpose a few times because I am skeptical about things that produce heat and cause fires. It turned off every time.

I need something to heat up the bathroom I am old and sick and need extra heat to take a shower****

I think this could do very well in that kind of confined space. Maybe heat up the bathroom first and then turn it off and unplug it (and possibly even put it outside the bathroom while showering) so that steam doesn’t cause an issue with it.

Does this particular heater have to be plugged I?****

It must be plugged in to work.

how long is the power cord?****

At least 6 ft.

How much sq. ft does it heat up?****

My office is about 10x 10 sq. ft, it is heavily AC-ed so I bought this to keep myself warm. I usually use “low” setting it warms up the space quickly if the door is closed. It works really well.

Can I use a smart plug with it?****

Yes, I don’t think that would present a problem.

does it have overheating shut off?****

Yes, it has both an overheating shut off feature and tip over shut off feature.3
