Take your time and read the following instructions and information completely.
Please keep these operating instructions in a safe place for future reference.
If you sell the device, please pass these operating instructions on to the new
owner.
Explanation of warning symbols and notes

Safety instructions
Risk of electric shock
- Do not open the device or continue to operate it if it becomes damaged.
- Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Leave any and all service work to qualified experts.
- Do not use the product if the AC adapter, adapter cable or power cable is damaged.
- The product is intended for private, non-commercial use only.
- Use the product only for the intended purpose.
- The product is intended only for use inside buildings.
- Only use the article under moderate climatic conditions.
- As with all electrical products, this device should be kept out of the reach of children.
- Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
- Do not use the product in areas in which electronic products are not permitted.
- Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
- Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
- Dispose of packaging material immediately in accordance with the locally applicable regulations.
- Do not use the product in a damp environment and avoid splashing water.
- The product must only be operated on a supply network as described on the type plate.
- Not suitable for operation with dimmers, electrical switches, photo cells, time switches or twilight switches.
- Whenever changing a light, always ensure that the light or fitting in question is voltage-free. Switch it off and/or pull the mains plug.
- Do not bend or crush the cable.
- Only operate the product from a socket that has been approved for the device. The socket must be installed close to the product and must be easily accessible.
- Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.
- Do not use the product if the adapter, connection cable or power cable is damaged.
Getting started
Switch on
- Connect the enclosed USB-C cable to the USB socket and the USB power supply unit.
- Connect the power supply unit to a properly installed and easily accessible mains socket.
- The LED start to flash.
Installing the Hama Smart Home app
To use all the functions of the device, you need a smartphone/tablet and the Hama Smart Home app.
Note
- The following operating systems are supported:
- iOS 16.3 or later
- Android 6.0 or later
- Download the Hama Smart Home app from the App Store (iOS) or from Google Play (Android) to your smartphone/tablet.
- To install the app, follow the instructions on your smartphone/tablet.
- Open the app on your smartphone/tablet.
Note
- While setting up the app, you will be asked whether the app has permission to access the functions of your smartphone/tablet. Say yes to these prompts for the full functionality of the device.
- Register to create a new account. Alternatively, log in with the access data of your existing account.
- Follow the instructions for setting up the app until you can add a new device, see Chapter 5.

Integratio n into the Hama Smart Home app
Press and hold the On/Off button for 5 seconds until the LED flashes blue.
- Open the app and select “My home” at the bottom left-hand edge of the screen.
- Then tap the “+” at the top right-hand edge of the screen and select the category “Remote Control”.
- Confirm in the app that the smart IR remote unit is flashing.
- Now enter the name of your WiFi network and the password.
Confirm your entry with “OK”. The smart IR remote unit is now connected
Adding a device to the smart IR remote

Click on “Add device”

Select the device whose remote control you want to add
Teaching devices (two types)
You can now choose between two types of device teaching.
Quick add:
When adding quickly, the buttons are preset and 3 buttons are taught.
Manual add:
When adding manually, teach each button on the remote control individually.
Quick add

Click on “Quick add”
-
Select the manufacturer of your device

You are now instructed to teach the On/Off button.

Point your remote control at the smart IR remote control and press the On/Off button on your remote control.

Once you have pressed the button, press the button displayed in the app and check whether you can now control your device with your mobile phone.

If you can control the device, click on “Works”. -> Two further buttons are suggested.

If you cannot control the device, click on “Does not work” and learn another button.

The remote control is then displayed in the app. Now try to control three more buttons and click on “Works” or “Does not work” again

Once you have tested the buttons, your remote control is connected and you can now control your device via the app.
6.1.2 Manual add

Click on “Add device”
-
Select the manufacturer of your device
-
Hold your remote control at a distance of 3 cm from the smart IR remote control.

You can now program the remote control button by button.
In the app, select the button you want to teach and press and hold the button briefly. -
A rotating circle now appears on the selected button. Now press the same button on the remote control that you want to teach.

Once the button has been successfully programmed, a tick appears in the app.
If you want to program another button, press “Next” and repeat steps 4-6.
- When you have taught all the buttons you want to teach, press “Done”.
- You can then save your device.
Configuration
Control via voice assistants
The following voice commands are supported:

Switch on / off
“Alexa / OK Google, switch the TV on.” -
Control volume
“Alexa/OK Google, turn down the TV”
Extended usage options with scenarios
Scenarios and automated sequences that can be created in the app allow various
combination options and usage options for these products, depending on the
Smart Home products in your home.
Programming is always via the app (see Section 4 of the App Guide) and will be
offered / suggested to you on an individual basis.
