  3. Remove the wiring harnessusing a 10mm socket tounbolt the harness from theECU.

  4. Remove the 10mm nuts onthe top and bottom of theECU mount and remove thegasket seal and mount that isplaced around the ECU as shown in A-2. This gasket and mount can bedifficult to remove the first time. The PCM code may be visible at thispoint using a mirror or camera. If the PCM code does not match or is notcompatible with the PCM code of the device, stop the installation andcontact Quadzilla or your local dealer for more information.

  5. Loosen the fender well liner closest to the firewall. Remove the 8mm bolt securing the fender well to the frame. Loosen the fuse panel nuts with an 11mm socket; (they don’t need to be removed completely).
Remove the 7/32” outer fender well bolts on the half of the fender well liner closest to the firewall or driver’s side door. Slide the PCM out of the socket.

  6. (Optional) – Remove the parking brake pedal by removing the (3) 13mmnuts. After removing those nuts, you can swing the parking brake out of the way and view the hole where the PCM was located. Remember to hook the parking brake back up after the installation.

  7. Route the switchwire around the body pillar as shown in A-3, not through the hole the parking brake assembly uses.
Run the switch wire out of the hole for the PCM in the firewall.

  8. Double-check the PCM code to make sure that it is compatible with the purchased chip. If the codes do not match or you have questions, contact Quadzilla Power or your preferred dealer to verify the compatibility of the chip.

  9. Remove the plastic cover on the back of the PCM to get access to the PCM’s contacts for the chip. This cover is shown in A-4.

  10. Thoroughly clean the contacts of all protective coatings on both sides of the circuit board as shown in A-5 and A-6. Some excess protective coating can be removed using a dull knife or a scraping tool. Be careful not to remove the actual pad and only the gel like covering. Use the included Scotch Brite™ pad to finish cleaning the pads.
Make sure that the silver surface of the contacts has been thoroughly scuffed.
It is preferable to have a small amount of the copper showing on the contacts.
Most installation issues are a result of not having these contacts cleaned properly.

  11. Plug the wire into the chip and plug the chip into the PCM.

  12. Use the enclosed 4”x6” vinyl sticker to cover the chip to hold it in place and to reduce the amount of dust that can be introduced into the PCM as shown in A-7.

  13. Carefully slide the PCM back into place in the enclosure making sure that the wire is not pinched or pulled.

  14. Replace the gasket seal and mount over the PCM and replace the (2) 10mm nuts. See A-8.

  15. Replace the main wiring harness and reattach the wiring with the 10mm bolt.

  16. Re-attach the battery cables.

  17. Test the switch to make sure the installation is right – turn the key to the run position and make sure the wait to start turns on and back off again. With the switch in the 2nd or 3rd position depending on tuning, the truck should idle near 1100RPMs. If the truck idles high near 1100RPMs, the switch is working. If there is no high idle in any position, remove the PCM and make sure the contacts are clean, then try again.

  18. Replace the parking brake and reapply the (3) 10mm nuts. See A-9.

  19. Replace the fender well liner by re-attaching the 8MM bolt to the frame, tighten the (2) 10mm nuts and re-attach the removed 7/32” outside bolts. See A-10.

1999-2003 Installation Instructions

  1. Disconnect both batteries.
  2. Locate your PCM. All models will have the PCM on the firewall on the driver’s side next to the outside wall of the truck. Refer to the example diagram 4 and A-11.
  3. Remove the wiring harness using a 10mm socket to unbolt the harness from the PCM.
  4. Remove the (2) 7mm bolts securing the PCM to the mount. On standard transmission vehicles it may be necessary to remove the full bracket mount of the PCM by removing the two 10mm bolts securing the bracket to the body and the firewall.
  5. Double-check the PCM code to make sure that it is compatible with the purchased chip. If the codes do not match or you have questions, contact Quadzilla Power or your preferred dealer to verify the compatibility of the chip.
  6. Remove the plastic cover on the back of the PCM to get access to the PCM’s contacts for the chip.
  7. Thoroughly clean the contacts of all protective coatings on both sides of the circuit board.
  8. Drill a 3/8” hole in the black enclosure for the switch wire to pass through. Do not remove more of the plastic than necessary as it will aid in keeping the chip from moving once installed. Route the wire through the hole in the black plastic enclosure.
  9. Plug the wire into the chip and plug the chip into the PCM as shown in A-14.
  10. Use the enclosed 4”x6” vinyl sticker to cover the chip to hold it in place and to reduce the amount of dust that can be introduced into the PCM.
  11. Carefully slide the PCM back into place in the enclosure making sure that the wire is not pinched or pulled.
  12. Install the (2) 7mm bolts to hold the ECU in place. (Replace the (2) 10mm bolts if needed on the manual transmission vehicles).
  13. Replace the main wiring harness and reattach the wiring with the 10mm bolt.
  14. Replace the battery cables.
  15. Test the switch to make sure the installation is right – turn the key to the run position and make sure the wait to start turns on and back off again. With the switch in the 2nd or 3rd position depending on tuning, the truck should idle near 1100RPMs, if it idles high at 1100RPMs, the switch is working.
If there is no high idle in any position, remove the PCM and make sure the contacts are clean, then try again.

Switch Installation Instructions

  1. Route the switchwire to your desired location for the switch.
  2. Mark a location to drill a 3/8” hole for the switch to enter.
  3. Mark a location to drill a 1/8” hole 3/8” center to center from the 3/8” hole for the locating lug as shown in A-15. Before drilling, test the alignment of the switch and wire to ensure the wire isn’t kinked or bent drastically. If your switch has a flat side on the actuator, align the locating lug to point the opposite direction of where you want position 1 to be.
  4. Drill the holes previously marked.
  5. Apply the position sticker in the desired location.
  6. Turn the switch all the way to the left in first position.
  7. Remove the nut from the switch but leave the lock washer and stop ring in place, being careful not to let the stop ring out of position.
  8. Put the switch through the 3/8” hole and align the alignment knob with the 1/8” hole. Tighten the nut onto the switch finger tight only.
  9. Turn the actuator all the way to the left in the first position. Loosen the hex set screw in the knob to allow the knob to be placed over the actuator.
  10. Align the indicator on the knob with the “1” on the sticker and then tighten the set screw down to keep it in place.
  11. Secure any extra low hanging wire with the provided zip ties.
  12. Enjoy the extra power!
