USAGE
Skin and nail care is not merely a matter that is indicated when suffering
correspondingly, it is also a cosmetic matter. Start with cutting and forming
toenails. They absolutely must be filed straight in order to hinder nails
growing into the skin. Microfine filing using the sapphire disc protects against
ingrown nails. Troublesome calluses always develop in the areas where the foot
is over-stressed, mostly the heel, the front balls and the side of the big
toe. Treat the callus using the sapphire cone or even better with the drainage
grinder. Repeat this procedure regularly. Under no circumstances should you
take radical measures when removing the callus. Ingrown toenails can – as
needed – be loosened gently using the small cutter. Thick lignified nails can
be ground off slowly from the top and filed thinner from the sides.
This takes place without enduring any pain whatsoever and without any danger
of injuries. Crumbly nail areas can also be cleaned using the fine sapphire
cutter.
Corns are the painful result of a slow callus process. They are calluses with
an externally hardened part which is soft inside. Remove the upper callus with
the sapphire cone and then work further using the small sapphire cutter. This
already removes the pressure. Deeply sunken corns should not be removed by
oneself; they should be removed by a doctor.
If skin and nail care are carried out systematically using the Promed devices
and accessories, regular care becomes a positive experience.
The special abrasive wheels are described more closely on the following pages.
The abrasive wheels are available in various forms and degrees of hardness and
can be reordered at any time. Ask your specialist dealer.
Note: Do not wash your hands or, when applicable, your feet before
treatment. A soothing and calming moisturizer should be first used after
treatment.
APPLICATION OF THE ABRASIVE WHEELS
| Stone sander, fine, pointed
For the removal of difficult corners and edges at those sites that thicker
grinding heads cannot access. (Be careful when using the needle burr!)
---|---
| Stone sander, large, conical
For the grinding of tough, thickened nails. Thickened nails can be shaped
easily and their appearance improved. Pressure is relieved. It is also
suitable for grinding the edges of hard corns to relieve pressure. (Only grind
away the areas of pressure!)
| Sapphire file, rounded
Ingrown nails can be ground away using the rounded sapphire file. Apply from
the side and slowly grind away the ingrown nail to release it. The sapphire
file should not be used for cuticle removal on the lunula (the whitish half-
moon at the base of the nail) as there is a danger of grooves being ground
into the lunula.
| Sapphire needle burr, pointed
For the removal of difficult corners and edges that cannot be accessed by
thicker grinding heads. (Be careful when using the needle burr!)
| Sapphire file, cylindrical
For the grinding of tough, thickened nails. Thickened nails can be shaped
easily and their appearance improved. Pressure is relieved. It is also
suitable for grinding the edges of hard corns to relieve pressure. (Only grind
away the areas of pressure!)
| Callus drainage grinder, sapphire
Particularly suitable for tough, thick calluses on the heel and the ball of
the foot, the sites where thick calluses are often present.
| Soft polisher, leather
To polish fake and natural nails to a glance.
| Grinding cone, sapphire
For callused and rough skin on the feet and hands, but also for abrading very
thick, hard nails. It reshapes crooked nails and relieves painful pressure.
| Grinding mandrel, plastic + abrasive band, medium
As preparation for the application of fake nails using gel, acrylic, etc.
| Grinding disc, sapphire
Shortens and shapes nails right into the corners. Result: perfectly cared for
nails that no longer tear, break off or split.
| Cleaning brush
To clean the grinding heads apart from the abrasive band
