ARNIG2-E/S factory reset user stick creation
For F.01U.311.135/ F.01U.311.136
Introduction
In some rare occasions, it could happen that you lose access to either an ARNI-E or an ARNI-S product. Fortunately, it is possible to resolve this situation by using the files supplied in this package and a generic USB flash drive. This will result in a factory default device. If you still have the original configuration form ARNI configuration tool, it is straightforward to restore it to the operable state. If not you can reconfigure it manually. This document explains how to perform the factory reset.
This procedure is applicable for both the ARNIG2-E and the ARNIG2-S products, which are referred to as ARNI in the rest of this document.

a. If a monitor is connected it should show this screen
-
Wait 30 seconds for the restore process to begin. The startup screen will disappear, and the installation script starts executing.
-
Restoring can take up to 10 minutes. During the process, the red LED with the disk icon will blink irregularly, the restore process is ongoing.
-
The ARNI will switch off, indicated by the power LED turning orange when the whole restore process is finished.
-
Remove the USB flash drive and re-power the ARNI. It will be in the factory default state.
Restoring the flash drive to a normal data drive
The image flashed on the flash drive reduces the size and makes the drive
bootable. Restoring it to a standard flash data drive is not possible using
the standard Windows disk formatting options.
It is advised to keep the drive for the ARNI factory reset process. You can
use it for any ARNI, and if needed, you can also reflash an update restore
image onto it using the method described here.
If you need to restore the flash drive to a standard flash data drive the
easiest way to do so is to download this USB image tool:
https://www.alexpage.de/usb-image-tool/
When you start the tool with the USB flash drive connected to your PC you can
select it in the left window and choose the reset option.
Make sure you do not select the wrong disk since this procedure will erase all
data from it.
When the flash drive is reset you can format it with the normal Windows format
tools.
Open Source information
This dataset uses free open source software to flash the image to the USB
flash drive.
