PRODUCT OVERVIEW
BEFORE STARTING
- Check that the security protocol of the modem/router is set at “WPA”/”WPA2”.The “WEP” protocol is not supported by the camera, because it is not reliable enough.
- Check that the 2.4G (2.4 GHz) wireless connection is active on the modem. The 5G (5 GHz) connection is not currently supported.
- Insert the microSD memory card only after the camera has been synchronised.
- The microSD memory card must be formatted in the “FAT32” mode, its capacity cannot exceed 128 GB and it must be category 6 or higher.

The “Smart Life®” App is free and compatible with any device which supports iOS® 11.0 and watchOS® 3.0 or higher and Android® 6.0 or higher.
INSTALLATION OF THE CAMERA
- ATTENTION: The camera is sold with partially charged batteries. A full charge is recommended before use (only on this occasion, approximately 12 hours with a DC 5 V, 1 A power supply).
- Turn on the device by setting the switch located on the bottom to ‘ON’.
- The camera will emit an acoustic signal and the red LED will start flashing to notify the activation of the synchronization mode with the App.
- Open the “Smart Life®” App and follow the instructions on the screen.
During configuration, the red LED will appear in the following states:
- Steadily lit > System initialised
- Blinking slowly > Synchronisation mode active
- Blinking quickly > Connection to modem/router underway
- Steadily lit > Installation process completed. The camera is functioning properly
Functions and use of the “Smart Life®” application (depends on the version installed)

Home”
This page is for managing devices connected to the “Smart Life®” application. To add a new device to the list, press the “+” in the upper-right portion.
Press the key on the camera (if the factory settings have been maintained: “Superior Smart – Security iCM004”) to access the main operating page.
The icon in the upper right (3 dots) can be used to open the settings page and, for example, to modify the name of the device, permit sharing with other users, activate the “alarm” function (listed on the menu as “PIR”) or remove the camera from the account.
ATTENTION: The internet connection must be active to access the camera with the App. If the modem/router is turned off, then Smart devices cannot be controlled. -
Me”
To access the configuration section, press the icon on the menu bar to the bottom-right. Once inside, press “Home Management” to add, modify or remove the settings (“Homes”) into which the account can be divided for more effective management of devices. Control of the “Home” can also be shared with other users (“Home Members” or “Members”). An administrator of the “Home” can add or remove devices, scenarios or members, or delete a home (“Delete Home”).
CONNECT YOUR “ICM004” CAMERA TO THE “SMART LIFE®” ACCOUNT
Rapid mode (recommended)

Make sure the camera power switch is “ON” (see “Product overview” on page 2).

Open the “Smart Life®” application and, after accessing it with the proper credentials, press the “+” in the upper right and/or press “Add Device”. Select “Camera & Lock” from the left column and then, from the list that opens up, press “Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)”.

On the new screen press the key “Next” and then select the wireless network (2.4 GHz) for the connection, entering the access credentials and confirming. Continue following the instructions on the screen until a QR code appears.

If the camera LED is not already flashing, press and hold the “RESET” button (see the “Product overview” on page 2) until you hear the acoustic signal.

Position the QR code shown on the screen in front of the lens (at a distance of roughly 15-20 cm), until the camera sends out an acoustic signal.

Press the “I Heard a Prompt” key and wait for the connection to be completed (10-60 seconds).
-
If the synchronisation does not take place correctly, repeat the procedure.
EZ Mode
- If the quick setup fails more than once, you can try the EZ mode.
- From the “Home” page, press the “+” at the top-right or “Add Device” in the centre of the screen. Select “Camera & Lock” from the left column and, from the list that opens, “Smart Camera (Wi-Fi)”.
- In the new screen, click on “QR Code for Camera” in the upper-right corner, then on “Wi-Fi Mode”, then “Next” and, at the end, “EZ Mode”.
- Check that the camera red LED is blinking rapidly before pressing “EZ Mode”. (ATTENTION: If the LED is not flashing, repeat the reset procedure (using the “RESET” button) indicated in point “A”, before proceeding).
- Click on “Next”, wait for the configuration to be completed successfully and press “Finish”.

FUNCTIONS
IVE VIDEO
Once the camera has been connected, simply click on its icon in the “Smart
Life®” application to access live video viewing, which is available in both
high definition (HD) and the standard format (SD).
RECORDING
- The camera will record on the microSD card only when “PIR” function on the complete menu of the App is activated (press the arrows in the lower-right corner to open the complete menu). You can choose between “Non-Stop” (with greater battery consumption) and “Event Recording” in the dedicated “Recording settings” submenu.
- To view the videos saved on the microSD card, click “Playback” button in the complete menu.
- To return to live video, press the arrow at the top-left.
- By pressing the button with the shape of a video camera inside the App, videos are recorded and saved on your smartphone (in this case it will be necessary to accept the notification that will appear on the screen, allowing the App to access the gallery).
- For photos, on the other hand, press the camera button to memorise photos taken by the “iCM004” camera on your smartphone.
- To view the images recorded in this way, select “Gallery” in the complete menu.
MICROPHONE
The microphone function can be activated by pressing the microphone icon.
Using the smartphone as a receiver, the voice will be produced by the “iCM004”
camera.
NIGHT MODE
The night mode with infrared vision is activated/deactivated automatically, to
ensure optimal vision of the surrounding environment at all times, unless a
different selection is made in the “Basic Settings” (“Nightvision Mode”).
By activating “Color mode” in the “Nightvision mode” submenu, the camera will
be able to display color images even in low-light conditions by automatically
turning on the LED lights.
ATTENTION: When the camera is set to “Color Mode”, the lights will remain
constantly on until the low-light condition ends, significantly increasing
battery consumption.
ALARM
When the “PIR” function on the complete menu of the App is activated, the
“iCM004” camera uses its sensors to notify the user’s smartphone that a
movement has been detected inside the viewing field.
SAFETY AND SECURITY INFORMATION
- Keep the “iCM004” camera from coming into contact with, or being in the vicinity of, open flames or electrical discharges. The ranges of humidity and temperature it supports are, respectively: 10% ~ 90% RH ; -10°C ~ +50°C
- Though the “iCM004” camera is designed and produced to guarantee the safety and security of the user, and of environment in which it is used, damage may still occur in situations that fall outside of normal use.
- It is recommended to use only very secure passwords (at least 8 alphanumerical characters, of which at least one should be a capital letter, one a number, and one a symbol).
- Firmware updates must not be interrupted, or the camera could be damaged.
SAFETY OF RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING AND SAFE USE OF RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES
Batteries can EXPLODE, CATCH FIRE, and/or cause BURNS if disassembled,
punctured, cut, crushed, short-circuited, incinerated, recharged (single-use
cells), or exposed to water, fire, or high temperatures.
To ensure safety and optimal performance:
- Use only batteries approved by Superior Electronics. If you have any doubts about the compatibility of a replacement battery or charger, contact Superior Electronics.
- DO NOT use these batteries for purposes other than those intended.
- DO NOT use the device if the batteries and/or their compartment appear damaged, swollen, or compromised. Examples include, but are not limited to, leaks, smell, dents, corrosion, rust, cracks, swelling, melting, and scratches.
- DO NOT disassemble, crush, puncture, short-circuit the external contacts, or dispose of in fire or water.
- DO NOT expose the device and/or batteries to fire or temperatures above 60°C. Do not place the device near areas that could cause overheating. Examples include, but are not limited to, heaters, cooking surfaces, appliances, irons, radiators, or fireplaces.
- DO NOT get the batteries or the inside of the device wet. Even if they dry out and appear to function normally, the circuits can slowly corrode and compromise safety.
- DO NOT place batteries in a pocket, bag, or other container with metal objects such as keys, jewelry, or tools.
- DO NOT store batteries with hazardous or combustible materials. Store them in a cool, dry, and ventilated place.
- ALWAYS keep batteries out of the reach of children
- When you charge the batteries, ensure correct polarity. MAKE SURE the battery compartment is empty and free of moisture or debris before inserting batteries.
- AVOID dropping the batteries or the camera. Any drops, especially onto hard surfaces, can damage the batteries or the device. If you suspect damage to the batteries or the device, replace them.
- ALWAYS follow the instructions in the product manual.
- ALWAYS adhere to local laws and guidelines regarding recycling and waste disposal for disposing of used batteries.

The “iCM004” camera will not connect with the network.
Check that the camera is installed in a location where wireless reception is good. Place your smartphone near the camera to test the strength of the signal. -
What has to be done to reset the camera?
Press and hold the “RESET” button until the camera makes an acoustic signal and the red LED starts flashing. The synchronisation mode will be activated. -
The live -video viewing breaks up.

If the live-video viewing breaks up or is disturbed, then the steps indicated below should be followed:
* log out of the App, log in again, and then refresh the smartphone screen remove the camera from the App and modify the installation position to avoid direct sunlight on the lens
* connect the camera again and see if the live video appears correctly
2. If live video appears correctly, but problems occur during the playing of recorded videos, then it might be necessary to replace the memory card in the camera with one of better quality.
3. When the “HD” video mode is set, and the camera is focused on an environment with a lot of different colours or moving objects, it is easy for the live-video viewing to become corrupted. To avoid this, switch to the “SD” video mode.

Even when the alarm function is on, I do not receive any push notifications.
This could depend on the smartphone settings: check them to ensure that push notifications are enabled. -
No sound comes from the App during the playing of live/recorded videos.
The first thing to do is to check that your smartphone is not on silent mode and that the “Media” reproduction volume is set at the maximum level. Also check the App to make sure that sound reproduction is enabled. -
How many people can access my camera and view through it?
The administrator can authorise up to 15 different users to access a given camera.
The user who first connected the camera to the system is the administrator. -
Why are some smartphones not able to show live/recorded video?
The system’s minimum requirements for the camera used are version 6.0 for Android®, 11.0 for iOS® and 3.0 for watchOS®.
