Before the first use

Unpacking

  1. Remove all parts from the packaging.
  2. Remove all packaging material, protective film and stickers.
  3. Never remove the rating labels; they must remain on the appliance.
  4. Check that the scope of supply is complete.

Cleaning

  1. Clean the grill rack and grill pan with warm rinsing water.
  2. Wipe the casing with a damp cloth.

Assembly

  1. Insert the grill pan into the casing.
  2. Insert the heating element into the grill pan.
  3. Place the grill rack on top.

Installation

This appliance is approved for indoor and outdoor use.

  • Place the appliance on a level, dry, heat-resistant surface impervious to splashes and stains.
  • Do not place the appliance against a wall or edge.
  • Keep the appliance at a safe distance from flammable objects.

Filling the grill pan

  1. Pull the mains plug out of the socket.
  2. Remove the grill rack.
    Warning!
    Risk of injury from electric shock.
    f Disconnect the appliance from the mains before adding water.

Warning!
Risk of scalding from evaporating water.
f Do not pour water onto the heating element.

  1. Fill the grill pan with a maximum of 1500 mlof water up to the “Max” mark.

First use

  1. Place the grill rack on top.

  2. Plug the appliance into the socket.
    Caution!
    Risk of injury from slight build-up of smoke. Inhalation of harmful vapours can cause damage to health.
    Open the windows or doors.

  3. Let the grill heat up for approx. 10 minutes without any food on the rack to allow the unpleasant smell to dissipate.
    To do this, turn the temperature control clockwise as far as it will go.

  4. Allow the appliance to cool down and clean again.

Grilling

Preparing

  1. Set up the appliance in a suitable place (see page 19, Installation).
    Warning!
    Risk of injury from electric shock.
    f Disconnect the appliance from the mains before adding water.
    Warning!
    Risk of scalding from evaporating water.
    f Do not pour water onto the heating element.

  2. Fill the grill pan with a maximum of 1500 ml of water up to the “Max” mark.

  3. Place the grill rack on top.

  4. Insert the mains plug into a suitable earthed power outlet.

Setting the temperature

  1. Turn the temperature control clockwise as far as it will go.
    The operating temperature is reached after 10 minutes.

Instructions for grilling with this appliance (see page 24, Recommendations for use).

Attention!
Do not place aluminum foil or grillware between the food and the heating element to prevent a build-up of heat and subsequent damage to the appliance.
f Place the food directly on the grill rack.

  1. The water in the grill pan evaporates during grilling.
    Water should be added (see page 19, Filling the grill pan)in good time and kept above the minimum level.

Warning!
Risk of burns from hot parts of the appliance and accessories.
f Do not touch hot parts of the appliance or its accessories.

Switching off
Once the grilling process is finished:

  1. Set the temperature control back to “MIN”.
  2. Pull out the mains plug and allow the grill to cool down.

Cleaning

The grill rack is dishwasher-safe, and all other appliance parts are not!

  1. Clean the grill after use.
  2. Before cleaning the grill, ensure it is disconnected from the power supply and has completely cooled down.
  3. Remove the grill rack, heating element and grill pan.
  4. Remove heavy soiling from the grill rack and grill pan by soaking. Clean the grill pan with rinsing water and the grill rack in the dishwasher or with rinsing water. Use a soft cloth or sponge and water with a mild detergent. Do not use metal sponges or abrasive cleaning agents.
  5. Clean the heating element and junction box with a damp cloth. They must not be immersed in liquids or even allowed to come into contact with them.
  6. Wipe other accessories with a damp cloth.
  7. Dry all parts.

Recommendations for use

Choose a windless location.

Remove the food from the fridge 30 minutes before grilling.

Set the control to “MAX” for grilling.

To keep warm, set the control between “MIN” and “MAX”.
