Systematic Deflation Ring Airbag System
Thank you for choosing the IN&MOTION technology.
This manual explains how to properly use the systematic deflation ring with
your IN&MOTION airbag system.
This manual may evolve over time. In order to get the latest updated version,
please refer to the Help section in the
www.inemotion.com website.
WARNINGS
Before using the deflation ring, please ensure that you have carefully read
this user manual and that you fully understand its content. If you have any
questions or doubts regarding its use, please contact the IN&MOTION customer
service by specifying your request in the contact form under the Help section
at the bottom of the website www.inemotion.com or
on the “My In&box” mobile application.
User safety is IN&MOTION’s primary concern.
However, the user of the IN&MOTION airbag technology is the main actor in its
protection.
Anyone using the deflation ring is personally responsible for learning the
correct use technique.
Each user accepts all risks and assumes full responsibility for any damage and
injuries resulting from improper use of this product.
IN&MOTION disclaims any liability for misuse, improper use, or incorrect
handling.
The use of this product allows faster quicker deflation of your airbag after
inflation.
The deflation ring has been designed for use ON APPROVED CLOSED CIRCUITS OR IN
COMPETITIONS.
The deflation ring is not designed for any other type of application and must
not be used for road riding, off-road riding, or any path open to traffic.
This ring must be USED EXCLUSIVELY WITH AN IN&MOTION AIRBAG IN ITS ORIGINAL
CONFIGURATION.
The deflation ring is compatible with both references of IN&MOTION inflators:
IMI 7112 and IMI 2368.
The deflation ring must be handled with care. Do not drop it. Do not deform
it.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
This systematic deflation ring has been designed to provide a solution for
motorcyclists seeking rapid airbag deflation, thereby facilitating the
resumption of riding after a fall on an approved closed circuit or in
competition. It must be inserted into the inflator (gas generator) of your
IN&MOTION airbag system.
The deflation ring is for single use only. It cannot be reused after the
airbag has been inflated or after it has been removed from the inflator and
should be discarded.
We therefore recommend that you have two inflators so that you can dedicate
one inflator to your deflation ring, which you will use exclusively during
your practice on approved closed circuits or in competition.
Use another inflator for your other practices.
However, if you only use one inflator, the deflation ring must be removed and
discarded as soon as you resume riding on open roads.
2.1. How to install the deflation ring
-
Remove the inflator completely from your airbag system. To perform this operation safely, refer to the detailed procedure in your airbag system’s user manual section “AFTER INFLATION”.
Never touch the connector at the bottom of the inflator (blue or black piece depending on the inflator). Do not connect the Inflator to the connector before it is screwed into the airbag.
If the inflator shows signs of damage, please contact IN&MOTION for recycling. Do not discard a full inflator (that has never been triggered). -
Place the deflation ring on the inflator following the orientation provided on the diagram.
Inspect the deflation ring and discard any ring showing a defect or deformation.
Ensure proper alignment of the deflation ring on your inflator before insertion.
Do not force the deflation ring into place, as this may damage it.
-
Screw the inflator equipped with its deflation ring back into the airbag system and reconnect it. After an airbag deployment and to perform this operation safely, refer to the detailed procedure in your airbag system’s user manual section “AFTER INFLATION”. The procedure is the same for an inflator equipped with a deflation ring.
If you are performing this operation following an inflation, ensure that all air is evacuated from the airbag before screwing in a new inflator.
2.2. How to remove the deflation ring
The removal of the deflation ring requires no additional equipment and should
be done manually (reverse procedure of the detailed procedure in section 2.1.
“How to install the deflation ring” above)
Once removed, the deflation ring cannot be reused and must be discarded.
It is imperative to remove the deflation ring from your inflator before any
use of your airbag product other than on an approved closed circuit or in
competition.
RECYCLING, STORAGE AND TRANSPORT
After inflation or after removing the ring from the inflator, dispose of the
deflation ring and used inflator at a metal recovery site, following local
regulations.
Store new deflation rings in their packaging, in a clean place, away from
impacts.
Keep this user manual for the entire lifecycle of the product.
