FAQs

  • Q: How do I change between weight units?
    • A: Press the MODE key to switch between weight units such as g, oz, gn, or ct.
  • Q: How do I ensure accurate weighing results?
    • A: Position the scales horizontally, calibrate before use and at least once a year, and perform net weighing (TARE) for precise measurements.
  • Q: How do I conserve battery life?
    • A: Ensure to switch off the scales using the ON/OFF key when not in use. The scales will automatically switch off after approximately 1 minute of inactivity.

PRODUCT USING INSTRUCTION

Battery

  • Two AAA batteries are included. Insert batteries into the battery compartment in the manner indicated on the base plate. Please note the polarity marking.

Positioning the scales

  • Please ensure that the scales are in a horizontal position. The scales were calibrated before delivery.
  • The scales have very precise divisions and their ‘ weighing result is sensitive to gravity and temperatures.
  • For this reason, we recommend user calibration before use and at least once a year.
  • Please read the instructions.

Weighing (ON)

  • After switching on the scales with the „ON/OFF“ key, „88888“ appears on the display. Please wait until „0.0“ appears. Then place the weight onto the scales and read off the weight.

Net weighing (TARE)

  • Place an empty container (i.e. first weight) onto the scales and then subtract this weight by pressing the „Z/T” key until zero appears. Fill the container (i.e. add a second weight to the scales).
  • Only the additional weight is indicated in the display.

Switch off (OFF)

  • Press the key „ON/OFF“ until the display disappears. Automatic switch-off will occur after approx. 1 minute, if no change of weight occurs in this time.

Switching the weight (MODE)

  • The scales can show the weight in „g“, „oz“, „gn“ or „ct“. One chooses the weight unit by pressing the „MODE” key.

Counting (C)

  • When the scales are ready for weighing, place the reference amount on the scales. Press then the „C“-key until „C“ is shown flashing on the display.
  • By pressing the „MODE“- key, choose the reference amount (25; 50; 75, or 100) and then press the „C“- key again. The counting mode is now activated. Press „MODE“ to return to the weighing mode.

User Calibration

  • If needed, the scales can be recalibrated. The scales should be switched on and the measuring unit should be set to „g“. Press the „MODE”-key until „CAL” appears on the display.
  • Press the „MODE“- key again until first „CAL“ and then „200,0“ is shown flashing on the display.
  • Place now a 200g-calibration weight on the scales, and wait until „PASS“ and then the normal weight „200,0“ +/- 1 digit is shown on the display. The scales are now recalibrated.
  • The calibration process should be repeated If the calibration is incorrect.
  • Important: The scales should not experience any vibrations or wind change during the calibration process!

Explanation

  1. Switching on
    • After pressing the „ON/OFF“- key all symbols appear. You can check whether all segments are clearly shown on the display. Zero indicates that the scales are ready for operation.
  2. Negative weight value
    • Press the „Z/T“- key again.
  3. Overload
    • If the weight is heavier than the maximum load of the scales, „O-Ld“ appears in the display.
  4. Energy Supply
    • If „L0“ appears in the display, this means that the batteries need to be changed.
  5. Faulty Calibration
    • If „OUT 2“ appears in the display, then one has to recalibrate the scales according to the instructions.

This device corresponds to the requirements stipulated in the EC-directives 90 / 384 / EEC.
Note: Extreme electromagnetic influences e.g. radio units in the immediate vicinity may affect the displayed values. Once the interference has stopped, the product can once again be used normally. The scales are not legal for trade.

Precision

  • This device corresponds to requirements stipulated in 2014/31/EU. Every scale has been carefully calibrated and controlled during the production process.
  • The tolerance is ± 0,5% ± 1 digit (at Temperatures between +5° and +35° C).
  • Incorrect display values due to damage attributable to improper handling, mechanical damage, or malfunction are exempt from liability.
  • Damages due to faults are also exempt from the guarantee. No liability is accepted for consequential damages or losses by the buyer or the user.
