Operation Instruction

Turn on and off: This product turns on and off through the volume button. When the volume button is in the OFF position, the product is turned off. Turn the volume knob clockwise and the device will turn on

Radio
Push the function buttons to “RADIO” as needed and select FM/AM/SW1/SW2; Select the station you want by turning the TUNING button; Adjust the VOLUME by adjusting the volume button; The BASS and TREBLE can be adjusted through the bass and treble knobs

Headphone connection
The product comes with a headphone jack, can be directly inserted into the headphone cable for use.

AUX IN
The product comes with a 3.5mm AUX jack

USB PLAYBACK

  1. Push the function button to RT/LISR•
  2. Insert U disk the device will automatically play USB

Bluetooth Connection

  1. Push the function button to BT/USB;
  2. Use the mobile phone to open the Bluetooth function, search for AIWA and connect and match.

Cassette operation instructions

Button instruction

  • REC(O) : Record function,
  • PLAY : Start playing tape,
  • REW : Rewind,
  • FW: Fast forward
  • STOP
  1. Press to stop the tape playing.
  2. Press again, the tape room ejected PAUSE PAUSE/PLAY

Tape Playback

  • We recommends the use of C-60 tapes. Tapes longer than this are thinner and are more prone to breakage or jamming the internal mechanisms.

  • Function Select Switch to the “TAPE” position

  • Press “STOP” to open the tape room

  • Insert tape

  • Adjust the volume by the volume knob

  • Press PLAY and playback will start

  • Playback stops when the tape in the deck reaches the end

  • To PAUSE the playback, press “Pause”.
    To restart the playback, press this button again

  • To STOP playing, press Stop, then press again and the tape room ejected

Record from the built-in microphone to cassette

  • Function Select Switch to the “TAPE” position
  • Press “STOP” to open the tape room
  • Insert a blank tape
  • Press REC to record
  • To Pause the recording, press PAUSE to stop the recording and press again to continue recording
  • If you want to stop recording when the tape reaches the end, press “Stop”
  • When the end of the tape is reached, the recorder button is released

Record from USB/BT to cassette

  • Function Select Switch to the “BT/USB” position
  • Insert USB or connect Bluetooth to paly
  • Insert a blank tape
  • Press REC to record

Record from radio to cassette

  • Function Select Switch to the “RADIO” position
  • Insert a blank tape
  • Use the TUNING knob to “tune” to the desired station
  • Press REC to record

Cassette Tape Selection
The quality condition of cassette tapes used will have a direct effect on the performance of this unit. Califon recommends using tapes no longer than 60 minutes since longer tapes are more prone to stretching, breaking and can easily become entangled in the drive mechanism causing major damage.

Cassette Maintenance & Cleaning

heads, capstan and pinch roller should be cleaned from time to time to prevent buildup of tape oxide, which degrades performance.

  1. Remove cassette tape before cleaning
  2. Clean the head of all visible, reddish-brown oxide with a cotton-tipped swab moistened with a methyl alcohol or any solution specifically manufactured for this purpose. Caution: DO NOT scrape the head surface with hard, sharp or abrasive objects. This will permanently damage the heads.
  3. Clean the pinch roller by scrubbing the surface of the roller with the moistened swab. Rotate the roller by hand until the entire surface is clean.
  4. Clean external case surfaces with a moist, soft cloth. Use only a mild detergent water solution.

Power supply

  1. “UM-1” battery power supply: This product can directly use dry battery power supply operation, need to put 8 x 1.5V batteries in the battery compartment:
  2. AC power supply: This product is equipped with AC power cord, connect the end of the AC line to the AC interface of the product, and insert the plug into the energized socket.
