Operation

Attach the Neckstrap
Follow the below three steps to attach the neckstrap to your binoculars

NOTE
You have the option to either have the eyepiece cover attached to the strap or leave it unattached. But it’s recommended that the eyepiece cover be attached so you won’t lose it and would be easier to cover up the eyepiece whenever needed (like in the case of rain).

Remove Protective Caps of Eyepieces and Objectives
The protective caps of eyepieces and objectives (eyepiece cover, or rain guard / objective cover) should be taken off the eyepieces and the objectives before observation with the binoculars. If your eyepiece cover is not attached to the neckstrap, store it insecure place. You’ll need to cover up the eyepiece after finishing the binoculars. Objective covers for some models are tethered to either the objective tube or to the bottom part of the hinge. SSimply coverthe objectives. If your objective covers are not tethered,s tore ithemin a secure place for later use after they are taken off.

Adjust Eyecups
There are 3 types of eyecups: fixed, foldable, or twist-up eyecups. If your binocular is with fixed eyecups, you don’t need (and don’t have the option) to adjust the eyecups. When looking through a binocular with fixed eyecups, keep the eyepiece away from your eyes at a distance so that you can see the full view. Binoculars with foldable or twist-up eyecups will better adapt to you whether you wear eyeglasses or not. For binoculars with twist-up eyecups, you can twist the eyecup down or up. For binoculars with foldable eyecups, you can fold it down or fold it up.
When you are not wearing eyeglasses, keep the eyecups fully extended (twisted up to the highest position, or folded up).  When you are wearing eyeglasses, twist the eyecups down orfold it down to have a full view

Adjust the Binoculars to Fit Your Interpupillary Distance
Your interpupillary distance (IPD) is the distance between the center of your two eye pupils. To have a comfortable observation experience, the distance between the center of the eyepieces should be set as close to your IPD as possible. Rotate the barrels of your binoculars inward or outward to align the exit pupils of your binoculars to your eyes until the two views from the two barrels perfectly overlap each other free of shading.

Properly Focus to Get a Clear View
Notice that the focusing mechanism for binoculars falls into 3categories: Fixed Focus, Individual Focus, and Centre Focus. For a Fixed Focus binocular, the binocular is designed without a focusing mechanism and offers a generous depth of view that you won’t be able to and don’t need to adjust the focus. For a binocular with Individual Focus, you’ll need to adjust the focus of each ocular separately each time you find a new target out of the original focus range. Follow the below steps to focus on the target and get a clear view:
Step 1: Select a target you are going to observe.
Step 2: With one of your eyes open and the other closed, turn the focusing ring of the corresponding ocular left or right until you see the target.
Step 3: Swap the open and closed eyes, and look through the other ocular at the same target, turning the focusing ring of the corresponding ocular left or right until you see the target. Repeat the above procedure if you want to observe another target out of the focus range of the previous setting

A binocular with a Centre Focus is designed with a Diopter
Compensation mechanism for the right ocular. Notice that most Centre Focus binoculars have the diopter ring on the right ocular,  yet some models have the diopter ring on the center hinge or integrated into the focusing ring. For a binocular with Centre Focus, follow the below steps to properly focus and get a clear view:
Step 1: Select a target you are going to observe.
Step 2: Look at the target through the left barrel of your binocular with your left eye (it’s recommended that your right eye is closed). Turn the center focusing wheel left or right until the image of the target is sharp and clear.
Step 3: Now with your right eye open (it’s recommended that your left eye closed), look through the right barrel of your binoculars. Turn the diopter ring left or right until the image of the same target is sharp and clear.
Now the focus of the left and right oculars are well aligned for your eyes. From this point on, you’ll only need to adjust the focuser (center focusing ring) to observe the new target out ofthe original focus range.

TIPS
Before adjusting the focuser or diopter, please check if it has come to the limit of the adjustment range. Do not turn the focuser or diopter ring beyond its limit to avoid damage to the focusing mechanism.
