Product Usage Instructions
Concrete Surface Preparation
For preparing concrete surfaces before polishing:
-
Determine surface hardness using the MOHS test kit.
-
Select the appropriate plate configuration and speed range
based on surface hardness. -
Use the recommended tooling for specific surface conditions
(Hard Surface, Medium Surface, Soft Surface).
Polished Concrete System
Follow these steps for a polished concrete finish:
-
Determine surface hardness using the MOHS test kit.
-
Step 1 – Metal Grinding: Use TearDrop tooling
with specified grits to prepare the surface. -
Step 2 – Transition Stage: Use Achromic or
Hybrid tooling to remove marks and prepare for densifying. -
Step 3 – Densifying: Apply ULTRAdensifil to
harden the floor. -
Step 4 – Matte Polishing: Use ULTRASHINE Resin
with 200 Grit to achieve a matte finish. -
Step 5 – Polishing: Use different grits of
ULTRASHINE Resin to achieve semi-gloss or high-gloss finishes. -
Step 6 – Sealing: Apply ULTRAguard Sealer to
protect and seal the polished surface.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: How do I determine the appropriate tooling for different
surface conditions?
A: Refer to the MOHS test kit results and choose the tooling
recommended for Hard, Medium, or Soft surfaces based on the
hardness range.
Q: What should I do if my coating is thicker than 1/8
(3mm)?
A: Use the specified PCD Carbide tooling for thicker coatings
that require more aggressive removal.
Q: How can I achieve a high-gloss finish on polished
concrete?
A: Utilize ULTRASHINE Resin with grits higher than 1500 or blue
diamond pads for achieving a high-gloss shine.
