How to install a smart switch?

Installation Steps

Notice:

  1. Smart switch only supports 2.4GHz WiFi network.
  2. Make sure you home is equipped with neutral wire.
  3. Prepare an electric test pencil and a screwdriver.
  4. Download and register the smart life APP in advance.
  5. One smart switch only can control one light (Not 3way).

Step 1: Distinguish the types of wires

Turn on the main power supply, first use the test pen to find the live wire, the live wire is charged, and the most intense sound of the test pen is the live wire.
Tips
The neutral wire and load wire are not live. Generally, the neutral wire is white, the ground wire is green or bare copper wire, and the others are load wires.

Step 2: Wiring
Turn on the main power supply,connect the wire on the back of the switch to the same kind of wire in the cassette box.
Tips
Confirm whether the wires are tightly tied.

Step 3: Fix the switch with screws.
Tips
Don’t screw it too tightly so that it is easy to adjust the interval between the two switches.

Step 4: Confirm whether the wiring is correct
After installation,press the switch button with your hand and pay attention to whether the light is working.
If the light can’t work, it likely that your wiring is wrong.

Step 5: Make the switch enter EZ mode
Press the switch for 5-10 seconds to enter the pairing state . It usually flashes 3 times per second.
Tips
Must be in the state of light off.

Step 6: Connect to the APP
Enter the Smart Life App, you can start to intelligently control your switch!

FAQ

  1. Q: My house does not have the neutral wire, can I use the ground wire instead?
    A: No! This smart switch requires the neutral wire. Check your house before ordering! It is not safe to use the ground wire as a neutral wire.

  2. Q: I connected all the wires, including the neutral wire, the wifi indicator light is on, and the light does not light up when you press the switch. Is the switch faulty?
    A: All of the smart switches were test before leaving the factory. If the switch does not response, you likely connected the LIVE wire and LOAD wire wrong. The 2 wires are NOT interchangeable. Please follow our instruction to connect the wire again.

  3. Q: I spent lots of time to connect the smart switch to the WiFi, but failed. The APP even can’t find the switch. What is the problem?
    A: There may be 3 reasons:
    1). The most probable cause: The switch only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi signal at the first setup. Disable your 5 GHz WiFi signal (at the management page of your WiFi router) when you are initializing the setup. You can turn on the 5 GHz signal again after setup.
    2). The WiFi signal is not good enough. Make your WIFI route as close as you can to the smart switch.
    3).The WiFi router reaches the limit of devices.

  4. Q:I am unable to get the switches to pair with the Wifi router. It blinks red and yellow instead of green in pairing mode.
    A:In the pairing mode, you must turn off the light, and then press and hold the switch to turn on the blue light for pairing.
