Frequently Asked Questions

Need a password to connect to this trailer hitch camera for setup on phone?****

You have to download the camera app “W-Car” from your app store, install it on your phone and when you go to use the camera for the first time, you will need to pair it with your phone using the app and it will ask you once for a generic password that is included in the camera set up instructions that come in the box with the camera.

How far the distance from the camera to cell? You think can reach the signal 60freet?****

Normally this wireless hitch camera could reach 60ft if no WIFI interference between the camera and the cell phone.

Once setup will this work without internet connection?****

Once setup, every time you turn on the hitch camera, it will automatically transmit a WiFi signal. And when you open the APP, it will automatically connect to the WiFi signal, even if there is no internet connection.

Does the phone app work with Apple play?****

Yes, it can work with Apple play.

Can more than one camera connect and be used at the same time?****

Each receiving device can only be connected to one hitch camera at a same time. If you want to connect to more than one camera, you need more than one device for receiving. However, we do not recommend more than one camera connect and be used at the same time, which will cause signal interference.

How long does it take to fully charge the battery? on this unit.****

I just plugged it in and the next morning I was charged.

Why is this not recommended for highway speed?****

It’s magnetic not designed to stay put during highway travel. Since it’s used for hooking up your trailer, you probably won’t be doing that at highway speeds so you should be good!

How do you turn on a wireless backup camera continuously?****

Running lights, licence plate illumination lamps, run lines directly to the battery, the ignition switch, or any other 12V source on the vehicle can all be connected for continuous operation. Connect the 12V to your car’s reverse lights if you want the backup camera to only turn on when you back up.

Is wifi required for a wireless backup camera?****

Ones wireless cameras, like some from Reolink and Arlo, may function without an internet connection. However, today’s wireless cameras are typically internet-connected.

Why says there is no signal on my wireless backup camera?****

The link between the reverse camera and the dashboard monitor has been severed if the reverse camera is acting up and displays “No Signal” instead of an image. This is likely brought on by a complete dislodging of a connection point or a total break in the wire circuit.

How is electricity supplied to a wireless backup camera?****

Your car’s cab houses the backup camera monitor, which is powered by a 12 volt socket. Several fastening options, such as an adhesive dash mount or suction cup windshield installation, are typically offered.
