this appliance out with your household rubbish. An environmentally friendly
method of disposal will ensure that valuable raw materials can be recovered
and used again. Electrical and electronic appliances contain materials and
substances which, if handled or disposed of incorrectly, could be potentially
hazardous on the environment and human health. Observe any local regulations
regarding the disposal of electrical consumer goods and dispose of it
appropriately for recycling. Contact your local authorities for advice on
recycling facilities in your area. The plug must be rendered useless and the
cable cut off directly behind the appliance or the machine to prevent misuse.

HQHUDO · Please ensure this manual is read carefully before installation and use.
Keep this manual in a safe and accessible location should future reference be
required.
· The appliance has been designed as an exhausting version (external exhaust)
or as a filter version (inter air recycle) cooker hood.
6DIHW3UHFDXWLRQ · Take care when the cooker hood is operating simultaneously
with an open
fireplace or burner that depends on the air from the environment and that are
supplied by other than electrical energy, as the cooker hood removes the air
from the environment which a burner or fireplace needs for combustion.
· There shall be adequate ventilation of the room when the range hood is used
at the same time as appliances burning gas or other fuels. (Not applicable to
appliances that only discharge the air back into the room)
· There is a risk of fire if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with
the instructions.
· Do not flambé under the range hood.
&$87,21Accessible parts may become hot when used with a cooking appliance.
· The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervised or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a responsible person for their safely.
· If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or
its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
· The negative pressure in the environment must not exceed 4 Pa (410-5 bar).
· Provide adequate ventilation in the environment for a safe operation for the
cooker hood.
· Follow the local laws applicable for external air evacuation.
· Appliance shall only be used with rated voltage and frequency.
· There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the
instruction.

,QVWDOODWLRQ6DIHW3UHFDXWLRQV · The exhaust air must not be discharged into a
flue which is used for
exhausting fumes from other appliances burning gas or other fuels. (Not
applicable for appliances which only discharge air back into the room) · For
optimal performance, the minimum distance from the top of the cooking surface
to the underside of the range hood should be 65-75cm. · If needed, this
distance may be reduced to 60cm to align with AS/NZS5601. :$51,1 Failure to
install the screws or fixing device in accordance with the instructions may
result in electrical hazards.
:$51,16 · In certain circumstances electrical appliances may be a danger
hazard. · Do not check the status of the filters while the cooker hood is
operating. · Do not touch the light bulbs after appliance use. · Do not
disconnect the appliance with wet hands and do not apply excessive
force to the supply cable. · Naked Flame cooking (flambé) is prohibited
underneath cooker hood (e.g.
items such as BBQ’s). · The hood is only to be used in a domestic situation. ·
Avoid free flame, as it is damaging for the filters and a fire hazard. ·
Constantly check frying food to avoid it becoming overheated as the oil may
become a fire hazard. · Disconnect the electrical plug prior to any
maintenance. · Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with
the appliance.

6FKHPDWLFGLDJUDP 1. The main body and the external motor are connected by an
extended cable.
A separate cable is plugged into the power. 2. The extension ducting will
connect the main body and external motor, and
cooking residues will be extracted and discharged to outside via a ducting
kit.

,QVWDOODWLRQ,QVWUXFWLRQV
The Rangehood should be placed at 65-75cm from the cooking surface for the
best effect.

1. Cut the required size hole in the underside of the cabinet for the hood
body
2. Detach the front panel by unscrewing the 2 screws (M4 x 10mm) see below
diagram
3. Mount the Rangehood into the cabinet by using the 8 screws (ST4 x 18mm),
and mount the front panel on the hood body by 2 screws (M4 x 10mm)

,PSRUWDQWSRLQWVWRFRQVLGHUIRULQVWDOODWLRQ
1. The location of the fan unit shall allow access for maintenance and
repair. Permanent fixed means of access is required where the fan unit
location is beyond the extent of normal steps or ladders.
2. Before installation, please ensure the area is clean to avoid suction of
the remaining bits of debris and dust.
3. Please ensure that the fan motor is firmly secured to either a flat
surface such as an MDF panel affixed across the ceiling rafters, or fixed to
the ceiling rafters themselves. Ensure the fan motor is level and there is no
vibration when in use.
4. The Rangehood cannot share the same air ventilation tube with other
appliances such as gas tube, warmer tube, and hot wind tube.
5. After installation, make sure that the main body is level to avoid grease
collection at one end.
6. Please note the dimensions of the fan motor below for installation
purposes.
7. The use of a ducting kit is imperative for the performance of the fan

9. The recommended maximum lengths of ducting pipe should be no more than:
Four (4) metres for connection between the hood body and fan motor.
Three (3) metres for connection between the fan motor and outside.

127(Please ensure this rangehood is turned off at the power point before any
care and maintenance is carried out. · It is recommended to commence the
operation of the appliance prior to
cooking. · It is recommended to leave the appliance in operation for 15
minutes after
cooking is terminated in order to eliminate cooking vapours and odours. · When
the appliance is not in use, please turn off. · Do not use if the appliance is
damaged — especially the supply cord and
the case. · If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. · Do
not immerse the appliance in liquid. · The exhaust air must not be discharged
into a flue which is used for
exhausting fumes from an appliance burning gas or other fuels. · Regulations
concerning the discharge of air must be fulfilled. · The proper function of
the cooker hood is conditioned by the regularity of
the maintenance operations the active carbon filter. · The filters are
designed to capture the grease particles suspended in the air
from the cooking process, and must be maintained as per below to avoid
clogging (depending on the frequency of the use of the appliance). – In order
to prevent a fire hazard, it is recommended to clean the filter at
least every 2 months by carrying out the following: – Remove the filters from
the cooker hood and wash them in a solution of
water and neutral liquid detergent, leaving to soak. – Rinse thoroughly with
warm water and leave to dry. – The filters may also be washed in the
dishwasher. · The aluminium panels may alter in colour after several washes.
This is normal under correct use and is not cause for customer concern or
replacement of panels. · Clean the fan and other surface of the cooker hood
regularly using cloth moistened with denatured alcohol of non-abrasive liquid
detergent. · Before any repair on the cooker hood, detach all plugs.

&OHDQLQJDQG0DLQWHQDQFH Changing and cleaning the anti-grease filters · Remove
the filters as per shown below. · You can clean the filter using the following
methods.
– Soak them for about 3 minutes in hot water (40-50 degrees) with a grease-
loosening detergent then brush it gently with a soft brush. To avoid damaging
the filter, please do not apply too much pressure.
– It can be put into a dishwasher with detergent, set the temperature at
around 45 degrees.
· Please do not use abrasive detergent for it will damage the hood. 127(Make
sure that cooker hood is shut down before cleaning
%XOE5HSODFHPHQW 1. Firstly, switch the unit off at the power and pull out the
plug. 2. Wait until the light bulb is cooled down before replacement. 3.
Replace with the same type of bulb by pushing the bulb slightly
and screwing in or out. 3/($6(127(Alternatively, you can change the bulb from
the inside of the Rangehood, take out the metal filter and have the bulb
replacement from inside of the Rangehood.

This warranty is provided in Australia by Glen Dimplex Australia Pty Limited
ABN 69 118 275 460 (Phone number 1300 556 816) and in New Zealand by Glen
Dimplex New Zealand Limited NZBN 9429000069823 (Phone number 09 274 8265) in
respect of the Viali product.
1. Viali Express Warranty
Subject to the exclusions below, we warrant that the product will not have any
electrical or mechanical breakdowns within:
a) In the case of Viali products used for personal, domestic or household
purposes, a period of 2 years from the date the product is purchased as a
brand-new product from a retailer located in Australia / New Zealand.
b) In the case of Viali products used for purposes other than personal,
domestic or household purposes (including business or commercial use), a
period of 90 days from the date the product is purchased as a brand-new
product from a retailer located in Australia / New Zealand. Viali products are
designed and intended for domestic use only; and
c) All warranty repairs must be carried out by Glen Dimplex or their nominated
service agent
Note: warranty periods detailed above may vary in line with agreements with
select retail and builder partners and may differ between Australia and New
Zealand.
The benefits conferred by this express warranty are in addition to the
Consumer Guarantees referred to in section 3 and any other statutory rights
you may have under the Australian / New Zealand Consumer Law and/or other
applicable laws.
2. Warranty exclusions
This express warranty does not apply where:
a) The product has been installed, used or operated otherwise than in
accordance with the product manual or other similar documentation provided to
you with the product;
b) The product requires repairs due to damage resulting from accident, misuse,
incorrect installation, insect or vermin infestation, improper liquid
spillage, cleaning or maintenance, unauthorised modification, use on an
incorrect voltage, power surges and dips, voltage supply problems, tampering
or unauthorised repairs by any persons, use of defective or incompatible
accessories or exposure to abnormally corrosive conditions, events independent
of human control which occurred after the goods left the control of Glen
Dimplex;

c) The repair relates to the replacement of consumable parts such as fuses and
bulbs or any other parts of the product which require routine replacement;
d) You are unable to provide us with reasonable proof of purchase for the
product; e) the breakdown occurs after the expiry of the express warranty
period set out in section 1 or f) the product was not purchased in Australia /
New Zealand as a brand-new product.
3. Consumer guarantees Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded
under the Australian / New Zealand Consumer Law. You are entitled to a
replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other
reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods
repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the
failure does not amount to a major failure.
4. How to make a claim You may make a claim under this warranty through our
website, contacting our customer care line or via email. Contact details for
Glen Dimplex Australia and New Zealand can be found at the end of this
document To make a valid claim under this warranty, you must:
a) Lodge the claim with us as soon as possible and no later than 14 days after
you first become aware of the breakdown;
b) Provide us with the product serial number; c) Provide us with reasonable
proof of purchase for the product. This can take the form of a
store receipt, new home handover form or other payment receipt documentation;
and d) If required by us, provide us (or any person nominated by us) with
access to the premises at
which the product is located at times nominated by us (so that we can inspect
the product).

5. Warranty claims
If you make a valid claim under this warranty and none of the exclusions set
out in section 2 apply, we will, at our election, either repair the product or
replace the product with a product of identical specification (or where the
product is superseded or no longer in stock, with a product of as close a
specification as possible).
Goods presented for repair may be replaced by refurbished goods of the same
type rather than being repaired. Refurbished parts may be used to repair the
goods. Products are designed and supplied for normal domestic use. We will not
be liable to you under this warranty for business loss or damage of any kind
whatsoever.

All appliances must be installed by a qualified person/s with adherence to the
relevant electrical, plumbing and building codes, with compliance being issued

Additionally, all upright cookers must have the anti-tilt device installed
correctly in adherence to the relevant standards by a licenced installer.
For maximum effectiveness and efficiency all rangehoods should be installed
with the use of ductwork, by a licenced installer with adherence to the
relevant state and national building codes and regulations.
All Glen Dimplex appliances are for Domestic use only, and must be installed
by a licence installer into Domestic Applications only, without exception and
to the required Authorities guidelines. Any installation outside of this will
VOID warranty. Alfresco areas are not a Domestic application.
