HEADPHONE AMP
The GS-X mini is based on the famous dual-differential design by Kevin Gilmore. The mini applies a type of balanced, symmetrical circuit that creates true balanced output from both RCA and XLR inputs. Now paired with a custom discrete power supply based on the ‘Golden Reference Low Voltage’ design, our GS-X mini can output up to 2W/100 ohm, 4W/50 ohm, and 6W/25 ohm from the balanced output.
FRONT PANEL
BALANCED Output – For use with headphones wired with a 4-pin XLR plug.
The pinout for wiring those plugs is L+(1 ), L-(2), R+(3), R-(4).
PHONES Output- This is a standard, single-ended stereo output for
headphones wired with 1/4″ TRS plugs.
GAIN Switch – Sets the amount of amplification. Use low (L) for in-ear-
monitors (IEMs) and sensitive headphones, and high (H) for difficult-to-drive
headphones.
PRE-AMP Switch -When ON, both pre-amp outputs will be enabled, and both
headphone outputs will be disabled.
INPUT Switch – Sets the input to RCA or XLR. The amp outputs the true
balanced signal from headphone amp preamp connections regardless of the input
connector used.
BACK PANEL
AUDIO INPUTS -The GS-X mini has 1 RCA (unbalanced) and 1 XLR input
(balanced).
PRE-AMP OUTPUTS -The pre-amp outputs (RCA and XLR) can be used to drive a
speaker amplifier, typically one that does not have its own volume control or
input switching.
SETUP
Place the GS-X mini in a position to receive adequate airflow, do not stack
heat-producing equipment above or below it. Do not obstruct the ventilation
holes on the top or bottom of the amplifier.
Check unit for correct AC voltage before connecting power cable. Connect audio
signal cables as desired.
WARRANTY
The GS-X mini Headphone Amp/Pre-Amp is warrantied for 3 years on all parts and labor. The customer is responsible for shipping charges incurred in warranty service.
