CAUTION: These instructions are part of the device. Carefully read all
instructions and all safety instructions before operating the device. Save
these instructions and pass them on to any subsequent owner.
Avoid risk of fatal electrical shock and fire
- Only plug the base into a suitable, earthed power socket. Make sure that the voltage of the power source is the same as that specified on the rating plate.
- The device must only be used with the base provided.
- The use of accessory attachments is not recommended for the device and may result in fire, electric shock or injury.
- To disconnect the device, stop any preparation, then remove the plug from the power socket.
- Disconnect by pulling out the plug and not pulling the cable, as this may damage the cable.
- Do not pull the cable over sharp edges, clamp it or allow it to hang down. Keep the cable away from heat and moisture.
- To avoid hazards, never place the device on or beside hot surfaces, for example, radiators, stove tops, gas burners, or similar.
- Do not operate the device with a damaged cable or plug or if it has malfunctioned, been dropped, or is damaged in any manner. A damaged cable, plug, or device can cause electric shocks, burns, and fire. Return devise to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.
- Short power-supply cords reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord.
- Longer (or detachable) cords may be used if care is exercised in their use, and:
- the marked electrical rating is at least as great as the electrical rating of the device
- a grounding-type 3- wire cord is used
- cord (s) is arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on or tripped over by anyone.
- If an extension lead is required, use only an earthed cable with a conductor cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
- This device is intended to be used in households, farmhouses, and similar applications only such as staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments, by clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments.
Avoid possible harm when operating the device
- Always keep the lid closed during use.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during use.
- Extreme caution must be used when moving a device containing hot liquids.
- Avoid contact with the moving part.
- If the device is dropped do not use it anymore. There is a risk of water entering the electrical compartment through any small cracks generated by this incident. The unit is not dishwasher safe if dropped.
- Never leave the device unattended during operation. The device is only for use by persons who have sufficient experience and knowledge and are physical, sensory, and mentally able to operate the device safely in accordance with these instructions.
- This device can be used by children of 8 years and older, as well as people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience, only if they have been supervised and given instruction concerning the safe use of the device and understand the hazards involved.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Keep the device and its cord out of reach of children under the age of 8 years old.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not use the device for anything other than its intended use.
- The device is intended to prepare beverages according to these instructions. No liability is accepted for other purposes, faulty operation, or non-professional repairs. Guaranteed services are also excluded in such cases.
- Do not open the device. Hazardous voltage inside.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons do not immerse cable, plugs, and base in water or other liquid.
- Care should be taken when the device is used by or near children.
- Do not place the device in a cabinet when in use.
- For perfect foam, use refrigerated UHT or pasteurized milk skimmed or semi-skimmed (approximately 4-6 °C).
- You can use soy or almond or oat drink for your preparations. For people with lactose intolerance or milk allergy, we would recommend having a separate device.
- This equipment is not suitable for use with other products such as enriched milk, reconstituted powdered milk, or flavoured milk.
- Avoid spillage on the connector.
- The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
Cleaning
- Unplug the device when not in use for a long period and before cleaning. Allow to cool down before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the device. Remove the device from the base before cleaning.
- Please make sure the bottom of the device and area underneath the base is dry, especially the connector area, prior to use. Electricity and water together can cause a fatal electric shock.
- Never immerse the base in water. Electricity and water together can cause a fatal electric shock.
- All the components of the device, including the jug, are dishwasher resistant, with the exception of the base (base includes cable and plug), but cannot be washed at a temperature higher than 70 °C. Please check your dishwasher’s main cycle temperature prior to use.
China RoHS
The People’s Republic of China released a regulation called „Management
Methods for the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical
and Electronic Products” commonly referred to as China RoHS. All products
which are produced and sold for China market have to meet this regulation.

Milk preparation
WARNING: Risk of electrical shock and fire! Make sure the underside of the
device and the area underneath the base is dry. Do not operate with a damaged
cable or plug or if it has malfunctioned, been dropped, or is damaged in any
manner. A damaged cable, plug, or device can cause electric shocks, burns, and
fire.
TIPS: For optimal milk froth use semi-skimmed, refrigerated (4-6 °C)
milk. Milk that has been frozen will not froth. For hygiene and machine
maintenance reasons: only use freshly opened, refrigerated, heat-treated milk
(pasteurized or UHT); do not use enriched milk, reconstituted powdered milk,
or flavoured milk; do not add syrups, sugar, chocolate powder, or other
substances into the jug. These can damage the coating during use. You can use
soy, almond, or oat drink for your preparations. Warning: Plant-based
beverages contain allergens (soy, almond, gluten) and should be handled
carefully by persons suffering from food allergies. The volume of froth
depends on the nature of the beverage used, and its temperature.

Clean before the first use and after each use according to the cleaning instructions. Place the whisk in the jug.

Fill the device up to one of the two “Max” level indicators:
The lowest “Max foam” level indicator (120 ml) is for hot and cold milk froth preparations. The highest “Max milk” level indicator (240 ml) is for hot milk preparation only. The minimum level volume of “milk foam”. Cover the whisk to reach the minimum level volume of “milk foam”.
NOTE: The milk froth volume depends on the type of milk that is used and its temperature.

Put the lid on the device. Make sure the connector is dry before you plug the device to the base. When the four buttons illuminate, the device is ready to use.

Choose your milk preparation by pressing the dedicated button to start. The button pressed blinks during preparation and becomes steady on when the preparation is ready. or hot milk, preparation takes approx. 150 sec. Preparation can be stopped at any time by pressing the blinking button or removing the device from the base.

Pour the prepared milk into the cup. Only use non-metallic spoons to collect the foam in the jug. For hot and cold milk froth, preparation takes approx. 80 sec.

The device turns off automatically after 1 minute of non-use. Press any of the 4 buttons to switch ON the device.

Cleaning and maintenance
CAUTION: Clean the jug, whisk and lid immediately after each use according to the cleaning instructions. Remove with care, and rinse with cold water immediately to cool down the device to avoid the risk of burns. In case the base needs to be cleaned unplug it first and use only a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base in water. Do not put the base in the dishwasher. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials, sharp objects or brushes which may scratch/ damage the jug coating. Do not place it directly over the dishwasher pin as it may cause damage to the inner coating. If the bottom part of the jug is wet, dry it before putting it back in contact with the base connector. Do not immerse the device in water or clean it with water if the cable or the plug is damaged or if it has malfunctioned, been dropped or is damaged in any manner. A damaged cable, plug or device can cause electric shocks, burns and fire. Return devise to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment.

Remove the jug from the base. Remove the seal from the lid.

Remove the whisk from the jug, and the spring from the whisk.
NOTE: It is recommended to wash the jug, lid, seal, whisk and spring in dishwasher for more efficient cleaning. -
A: Dishwashing: put all parts except the base in the dishwasher at maximum 70 °C.

Dry all device parts with a clean towel, cloth or paper and reassemble all parts.

Make sure the connector and the recessed areas are clean and dry before next use.
Troubleshooting
The device does not start| – Ensure the jug is correctly positioned on the
base, and the whisk is correctly positioned in the jug.
Device will start only if the connectors are dry.

Quality milk froth not up to standard or milk is burnt| – For optimal milk
froth, use cold and semi skimmed milk at refrigerated temperature (about 4-6°
C). To guarantee hygiene conditions, use heat treated milk (pasteurized),
refrigerated & freshly opened only. Milk which has been frozen will not froth.
Be sure the jug and the whisk are clean.
– Do not use enriched milks, reconstituted powdered milks or flavoured milks.
Fast red lights blinking on the 4 buttons (device error)| – The device is too
hot: clean the jug under cool water.
– Not enough milk: fill the device up to one of the two “max” level. All the 4
buttons (1 blue and 3 red) blink rapidly.
– Clean the device and check that there is no water on the base.
– If no change, then please call Nespresso.
Milk overflows| – For milk froth preparation ensure the milk does not exceed
the MAX FOAM level (120 ml).
– For hot milk preparation, ensure the milk does not exceed the MAX MILK level
(240 ml).
